Earlier today, the girls attended the “Daum Life On Awards 2010”, organized by Daum Communications and held at the Grand Hall of El Tower in Yangjae-dong in Seocho-gu, Seoul. At the awards, they performed ‘Oh!’ and ‘Hoot’ and when they went home, they brought another award with them. Can you guess what award they brought home with them?
Last year, SNSD released and performed 3 hit songs (“Oh!”, “Run Devil Run”, and “Hoot”) on various music shows including MBC’s “Show! Music Core”.

Over the past two days, we saw SBS Gayo Daejun and KBS Gayo Daejun and undeniably, they were both exciting, but this year’s MBC Gayo Daejun has GOT to be wayyyy better. Why? Two words – more Soshi! Not only did YuTi (along with Ryu Si Won) host the festive event, but some of the girls participated in special stages. What a great way to end the year of 2010 and start the year of 2011, don’t you think?

Online votes by netizens compiled between December 2nd to December 22nd have determined the winners for the “2010 Daum Life On Awards” and SNSD has claimed the “Music of the Year” award for “Oh!” in the “Contents Category”. Anyways… back to reality. SNSD‘s ‘Oh!‘ has been selected as the most popular song which received the most love in 2010 on online music site, Monkey 3!. *applause*
Korea Gallup confirms SNSD (Girls’ Generation) as “Singer of The Year” and two of their songs, Hoot and Oh!, also ranked as 1st and 2nd “The Most Popular Song in 2010” respectively. This is a huge feat because, as you may already know, Gallup is a professional research company which polls often referenced in the mass media as a reliable and objective measure of public opinion. That’s right, public opinion. The survey involved 3,401 random male and female citizens, aged 13 and above. SNSD ranked as #1 in almost all age group category except for the 60+ citizens.
Talk about domination, they win by a quite large margin too. This survey confirms SNSD’s popularity in general public of South Korea. No wonder that the girls now earned the name of “the Nation’s Group” (국민가수 [Gukmin Gasoo], which is more like “the Nation’s Singer”) an upgrade from their previous “the Nation’s Girl Group” title.
Another year, another milestone achievement as SNSD achieves mammoth sales in Korea and Japan.
Hanteo, a Korean based record sales research site, recently revealed that SNSD has sold over 300,000 copies of their released albums in this year alone. There was no goodbye stage of Hoot on Music Bank and we were left disappointed with the misfortune.
However on today’s year-end MuBank special,the ladies are coming back on stage with a whole new blue furry outfits to perform both Oh! & Hoot.
