With Girls’ Generation’s 10th anniversary approaching, the feels really hit you. To say they’ve come so far since their debut days is an understatement. I remember during high school when I first started stanning our girls, people around me would say they won’t be big and they’ll disband soon because of the ‘5 year idol group curse’. The girls proved haters wrong and have become an undisputed legend in the music industry with their longevity and success. Being the first girl group to bring massive success in an era that was dominated by males, dominating album sales and chart rankings both nationally and worldwide, setting a record with 9 consecutive wins with “Gee”, being the only girl group to win the prestigious Daesung award 3 times in a row, appearing on popular American TV Talk Shows—The Late Show with David Letterman and Live! With Kelly, turning heads when they won “Video of the Year” Youtube Awards in 2013, and not to mention ranking 4th on the list of “The Highest Grossing Girl Group Concert Tours of All Time” after TLC, Destiny’s Child, and Spice Girls.
As one of the most watched and shared videos on Youtube this year, “I Got a Boy” has been nominated for ‘Video of the Year’ at the YouTube Music Awards. This is petty cool since IGAB is running up against music videos of top stars like One Direction, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, etc.
The winner(s) will be announced on November 3 so help VOTE now! You can vote by sharing the video directly from the youtube page [so from this actual post, you have to click on the video to link you to the youtube page or click here. Then click the ‘Share’ subtab next to ‘About’ and ‘Add to’, and share the video by the social network you want –i.e. Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, etc].
