With Girls’ Generation’s 10th anniversary approaching, the feels really hit you. To say they’ve come so far since their debut days is an understatement. I remember during high school when I first started stanning our girls, people around me would say they won’t be big and they’ll disband soon because of the ‘5 year idol group curse’. The girls proved haters wrong and have become an undisputed legend in the music industry with their longevity and success. Being the first girl group to bring massive success in an era that was dominated by males, dominating album sales and chart rankings both nationally and worldwide, setting a record with 9 consecutive wins with “Gee”, being the only girl group to win the prestigious Daesung award 3 times in a row, appearing on popular American TV Talk Shows—The Late Show with David Letterman and Live! With Kelly, turning heads when they won “Video of the Year” Youtube Awards in 2013, and not to mention ranking 4th on the list of “The Highest Grossing Girl Group Concert Tours of All Time” after TLC, Destiny’s Child, and Spice Girls.
As one of the most watched and shared videos on Youtube this year, “I Got a Boy” has been nominated for ‘Video of the Year’ at the YouTube Music Awards. This is petty cool since IGAB is running up against music videos of top stars like One Direction, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Selena Gomez, Miley Cyrus, etc.
The winner(s) will be announced on November 3 so help VOTE now! You can vote by sharing the video directly from the youtube page [so from this actual post, you have to click on the video to link you to the youtube page or click here. Then click the ‘Share’ subtab next to ‘About’ and ‘Add to’, and share the video by the social network you want –i.e. Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, etc]. Note that copying and pasting the youtube link won’t be counted. You have to share the specific nominee video in order to vote–not the IGAB MV that SM uploaded. GO VOTE/SHARE THE NOMINEE VIDEO!

I know a lot of SuByung shippers out there were really excited to see 1+1 couple interact over the webs when Sunny got herself a twitter and instagram account, as it’s been far too long since we’ve seen them together. This might be a pretty minor event BUT MY SUBYUNG HEART NEEDS TO SHOUT IT FROM THE ROOFTOPS.
– JESSICA JUNG APPROVED THIS MESSAGE –
During a press conference for his new movie, “The Spy“, man-among-men Daniel Henney chose Girls’ Generation as a girl group that he liked. He went on to say that out of the Girls’ Generation members, he liked Jessica the most, his exact words being Continue reading
The leader-maknae duo Taeyeon & Seohyun have both reprised their roles as Margot and Edith, respectively, in the to-be-released Korean version of Despicable Me 2 (the Korean title is Superbad 2). A short video was recently released of the two members doing the voice-acting for the animated characters and asking fans to look forward to the film.
Ain’t that just the darned cutest thing? *~*
Alongside Tiffany’s (attempted) midnight anniversary message, other members have also thought to drop us sweet and simple messages to celebrate 6 years of both SoShi and SONE.
Jessica left a pre-mature message on August 4th, instead of August 5th, on her Weibo account;
While Yuri uploaded a photo familiar to all SONEs onto her instagram account;
She included the caption; Continue reading
Despite internet hardships, Tiffany did her best to greet the fans just as August 5th rolled about, posting a handwritten message on the official site.
Instead of writing the phrase, “우리오래가자 (let’s go on for a long time)” she instead one-upped us with “우리평생가쟈 ♥ (let’s go on for a lifetime ♥). Awwww, best idol ever! Underneath she also wrote “Happy 6th SoShi + SONE ~ LOVE YOU xo”.
The accompanying message with the above photo was;
[From. TIFFANY]: ♥
From 11:58.. until 12:25,
I tried hard to change my UFO photo..
But 00:00 passed, so I was just going to give up..
But I came to the official homepage, thinking of SONE one more time..
happy 6th anniversary.. let’s go on for a lifetime♥ Continue reading
Hyoyeon recently took some shots of herself and childhood buddy, Min from Miss A, and uploaded them onto her (woefully underused) instagram account, watasiwahyo. The two look like the adorable little gangstas that they are, rocking their snapbacks and being generally awesome and perfect.
Hyoyeon accompanied one of the photos with the caption “rock festival with min“, most likely talking about the annual Ji-san Valley Rock Festival which took place in late July. This year’s festival brought in some big name rockers such as Vampire Weekend, the xx, The Cure, Skrillex, Foals, Nine Inch Nails, fun. and a litany of others. Rock on, girls!
