Though SK has been slow with updates lately since most of our staffers are still on hiatus, we’re trying our best to update as much as we can. Here is a quick update that includes a new ‘Mr. Taxi’ promo picture, our girls’ cuts (including performance and MC cuts) from the broadcast of ‘MBC Korean Music Wave In Bangkok‘ earlier, a taeyeon sponsored picture, promo/selca photos, and Yoona and Sunny on ‘Running Man, Yoona and Sunny from tvN ‘Opera Star’ event.

Rookie girl group CHI-CHI: “SNSD are our role models”

Last month, rookie girl group CHI-CHI confidently announced, “Our goal is to be like SNSD” and stated their wish to “become Asia’s top girl group”. Despite their honesty, the girls’ statements were misunderstood as pretentious.

Recently in an interview with Star News, CHI-CHI clarified, “We respect our seniors, SNSD and that was why we mentioned that we hope to be like them. We also said that we want to be loved by everyone, regardless of sex and age, just like SNSD.”

The CHI-CHI members added, “SNSD are our role models and we would like to show our respect for them. They are a top idol group not only in Korea, but also in Asia. They are role models to us who are lacking in many areas. SNSD, who are not only the best in Korea but also in Asia, are our idols. We want to be like that too”.

A few years ago, SNSD expressed how much they looked up to veteran groups, but now it seems like our girls are returning the favor by serving as examples for new groups.

Where shopping begins. And Ends.

It’s been a while since the girls last promoted, and many fans are eagerly anticipating their Japanese comeback Mr. Taxi & Run Devil Run. As their first *new* single in Japan, there’s certainly a lot of mystery surrounding the song style and the type of reception this guy will receive in the land of the rising sun. It was announced today however, that the girls will be re-using the Mr. Taxi ‘Black Soshi’ theme and outfits for their Korean comeback in early May, which will be titled Black Friday.

On Behalf Of The Staff Team At SKE….

I’m sure some of our readers are wondering where some of our SKE staffers disappeared to or why updates have been slow lately and we feel it’s important that we address this issue.

Unfortunately, a large number of us have been going on hiatus due to personal matters, with many of the staff living very busy lives outside of the blog. The school year is coming to an end for college and university students in North America, and many of us have turned to focus on our school work with finals around the corner. For those in the Oceania and Asia region.. then you know it’s also time for mid-year exams on that side of the world. Regardless of the situation, we know that we’ve been slow with news lately, and as members of the blog, we’re the only ones that can be responsible for our lack of updates.

On behalf of the staff team at SKE, we would like to apologize for the slow news recently, and we hope that our readers understand.

Please continue to support us, we’ll continue to update when we can! We should be returning back to normal after the next little while~

I apologize if it’s all over the place, but because I’m in a rush, I’ve compiled some of the recent updates in a single post–from the latest SPAO and Vita500 pictures, SM Town 3D Blu-Ray, Jessica and designer Son Jung Wan, events, to rumors and tidbits.

Though the girls ended ‘Hoot’ promotional activities 3 months ago, it can’t be denied that they are still kept busy and a representative of SM Entertainment recently affirmed this:

This year, SNSD have been chosen as models for various CF namely Intel, Woongjin Coway’s WaterPurifier, Vita500, etc. Even nowadays, they are still actively doing CF-related activities. After the release of SNSD’s 3rd Japanese Single, ‘Mr.Taxi’ on April 13th,they will be preparing for related promotional activities of the single. In the future, there are also plans to produce other albums in Japan as well…Even after completing ‘Hoot”s promotional activities, the girls are still having a busy lifestyle everyday

Maknae Caught Shopping With Her Mom!

Recently on the 27th, our youngest member, Seohyun, was caught at Myeong Dong, one of Seoul’s main shopping district, shopping with her mom.

It seems that maknae gave out her autograph to a Chinese SONE, who luckily got to meet her in real life while he was shopping in Myeongdong with his classmates.

To combine two quick blips in one post-

You guys remember those recent SPAO promo pics? Apparently, some fans were disappointed with the Super Generation pairings. And I completely understand. As cute as Sunny-Kyuhyun were, for instance, they weren’t as good as Yoonyul. Sones got on that pretty quickly with their photoshop skillllzzz. Of course I totally rikes. Sorry boys, but Yoonyul is as real as it gets. Jump under the cut to see how these two pictures got Yoonyulified!

It seems that the list of Sones don’t end at witty photoshoppers. On KBS “Guerrila Date” March 19 episode, actress/model Kim Ah Joong chose SNSD as her favorite girl group without hesitation. When asked which member she would replace, Kim replied, “How is it possible to leave out a member? Among all 9 of them, none can be replaced. Instead, I would like to join them as the 10th member”.
