Our nine amajjing girls of SNSD swept six (SIX!) awards on the long-awaited 1st Melon Music Awards; including two of the biggest awards, 2009 Artist and 2009 Song. The girls also performed four (FOUR!) songs in this awards show. Seriously, they dominate tonight Melon Awards it’s not even funny (they even on Trending Topic list on Twitter for this LOL). And, no, I am not complaining though. 😀

YEAAAAAAAAAHH!

The girls won Top 10, Odyssey Award, Smart Radio, Mobile Music,  2009 Artist, and 2009 Song Award. Congrats for the awardsss girls!

Four out of six awards they got are basically for their mega-hit song, Gee. It’s no brainer, really. ‘Gee’ is undoubtedly a mega hit in Korea so all those awards they got are very well-deserved. I mean, this ‘Gee’ is the song which successfully helped SNSD to go from being prolly the most hated group in K-pop fandom into being one of the most loved ones. Though, after tonight it seems like the girls got all the hate again for winning almost half of all the awards given. Well come on now, I don’t think there’s a way you can argue that both SNSD and Gee deserve the recognitions!

Speaking of Gee, the nine girls of SNSD performed this song along with Genie dance remix (with a new-but-not-really-unseen-before intro), Chocolate Love (in the so-called girl groups joint stage) and Girls’ Generation (as a part of tribute to the original singer, Lee Seung-chul). Unlike the news about a joint stage before on Inkigayo with SNSD, 2NE1, KARA, and 4Minute, the news this time seems much more promising (but if it’s false again, someone is gonna get jumped jk).

From Dec 7th to 9th, Star News conducted surveys (Artist of the year, Song of the year, Best male artist, Best female artist, Best rookie and Hottest issue of the year) among variety show’s producers, and summed up the result on Dec 10th. Total of 22 music shows and variety shows producers (PDs) from MBC, KBS, and SBS participated in this survey.

SNSD

The producers picked Girls’ Generation (So Nyuh Shi Dae) as “Best Female Artist of the Year” with 11 votes. The girls’ hit song, Gee, also chosen as “Best Song of the Year” with 7 votes. SNSD also came in 2nd place for “Artis of the Year” category with 5 votes, losing to beastly idols 2PM who got 9 votes.

Our beloved nine won both Digital Daesang Award and Digital Bonsang Award at today Golden Disk Award! LET’S CELEBRATEEEEEE!

SNSD Golden Disk Awards

Their winning speech for the Digital Daesang Awards, which is the highest award of the show, was quite emotional. It made me all teary too. Just in case you don’t know, this is their first ever Daesang! It’s like their first ever biggest award throughout their career. Congrats So Nyuh Shi Dae! Ahhh I am so proud for them, all nine of them, for making it this far. Congrats girls! ;___________;

The nine girls of SNSD performed Chocolate Love and Gee (remix) on the show. Five of them  also joined fellow SMTown-ers, Super Junior and SHINee, for a Michael Jackson dance tribute. Speaking of SMTown, they pretty much win BIG tonight. Aside from SNSD, Super Junior also won Daesang and Bonsang for Album category. And both SHINee and Super Junior also won Samsung YEPP Popularity Awards. Congrats SMTOWN! In your face MAMA!

On the upcoming episode for KBS‘s Imagine More, Sunny reveals her thoughts of everyone during her trainee days.

As you know, Sunny was the last member to join SNSD so she was pretty much a loner. In an interview with Hyoyeon, Sunny, and Jessica conducted by Hyundon, Park Myung Soo, Onew, and Key- the two members of SHINee revealed that Sunny was quite the quiet girl. Not that she was a loner, but that she was definitely not as friendly as before and kept mostly to herself. No one knew why exactly, but after she made her debut, she became the bubbly and brigtht girl that we know.

But on this week’s Imagine More, it’s Sunny’s turn to reveal her thoughts!
