SNSD + Starcraft = HEAVEN!

The collaboration between SNSD and Intel has allowed our girls to branch out into the world of Starcraft. This is not to say however, that they weren’t apart of this world before, as I am pretty sure that 99% of South Korean Starcraft players are SNSD fanboys (including Lim Yo-Hwan aka SlayerS_`BoxeR` aka elite SCII player)!

Recently, at the Global Starcraft II League, hosted by GOMTV in South Korea; Intel and more specifically their “Core” line of processors, were the major sponsors of the tournament, and therefore SNSD were able to make an appearance at the event albeit in the form of promotional banners and video advertisements during the broadcast stream:

Yoon-Dragon..G-Yoona..?

Excuse me at my fail attempts of trying to pair G-Dragon, leader of Big Bang, with Yoona.

On today’s episode of Strong Heart, the charismatic leader of Big Bang was on the show, sharing a rather interesting story with the audience.

During a friend’s birthday, GD was at the bowling ally celebrating with his friends and was somewhat drunk. SNSD happened to be there at the same time too and upon seeing the girls, GD performed a “comical dance” routine. He didn’t seem to recall the event, stating “I’m not really close with SNSD members. However, when I heard afterwards that I danced in front of YoonA, Tiffany, HyoYeon, and SooYoung, I was pretty surprised. I’m not usually a person who would do those kind of things.” (LOL)

SNSD is One of Korea’s Power Band- Tyler Brûlé

Tags

Awhile back, we had reported that Tyler Brûlé thought SNSD was one of Korea’s potential exports. For those of you who don’t know him, he is the editor in chief of  global culture style magazine Monocle. On an interview on Bloomberg TV recently, Brûlé stated that Kpop is Korea Republic’s most effective and powerful weapon”.He goes on to say, “Samsung, Hyundai and LG are the brand names of Korea Republic’s largest exports but now, what actually appeal to most people are Korea’s power brands such as BoA, SNSD, Epik High, Super Junior and other Kpop singers”.

On February 21st, SBS-CNBC News broadcasted an interview with Intel Korea’s Han In Soo, discussing SNSD as the new faces of Intel Asia. Going past the label as ‘just another girl group’, the girls have moved on to become Hallyu stars, representing one of Korea’s most important and exportable facet- KPop. With their relatively new status as an international group, SNSD have become the target models for big name corporations. This time, Intel Asia won the coveted business deal, and here’s their interview to show the effects of working with the girls!
