Yet again, SNSD has shown that they can literally sell anything. The product this time? Throat lozenges!
Earlier today, our nine ladies attended the launch event for a Japanese CM (commercial), which they had filmed for UHA Mikakutou’s “e-ma Throat Candies”.
Here’s a rundown and thoughts from the girls’ on their first ever Japanese CM, food in Japan, and future Japanese aspirations courtesy of Yahoo Japan:
Leader Taeyeon commented with a smile, “I feel really honored and it will be a good experience for us.” Yuri boldly spoke of their aspirations for this year, “I’m the happiest when standing on stage together with everybody. We seriously want to do a nation-wide Japan tour this year. We also want to meet our fans from all over the world.”
In the new CM, “Girls’ Dinner,” the 9 members were dressed in European style clothing and it is as if the camera is moving within a picture and pressed ahead taking an one-shot while each of the members posed standing still. They also took a challenge in speaking Japanese for the narration. Looking back at the filming, Yoona said with satisfaction, “Being surrounded with a pretty set, we were able to film feeling really good.” Despite the rigorous conditions that comes with filming standing still for a long period of time, “the one-shot was our first experience and we couldn’t move our hands or blink, but it was fun,” (Hyoyeon) and the new experience felt fresh.
Sooyoung, who had a change of heart since her first visit to Japan, said with a big smile, “At first I was a little worried, but all the fans are caring and now I’ve gotten used to it and now it has become fun. I look forward to meals in Japan and I ate soba (Japanse buckwheat noodles), Japanese beef, and toro (fatty tuna) sushi with the members yesterday.” Because of their extremely busy schedule in Japan, they don’t often have off days, Seohyun wished, “We all have gone to Disney Sea on an off day we had and it was a fun time. I want to try going to an onsen (hot spring) next.”
Girls’ Generation new CM, “Girls’ Dinner,” will start airing nation-wide from Feburary 26th.

awesome idea to advertise throat lozenges, we should all buy them and go to their concerts scream all you want then eat them so we can scream more, well by scream i meant cheer!!!!!!!!

The girls look GORGEOUS in this latest commercial advert <33333 😉 !!! Great idea to use "Gee" as the background theme music for it certainly brings across the "fun" and oh, so "fruity" nature of the lozenges 😀 !!! "Tiffany" flavour anyone 😉 ?!! How about the "SooYoung" special for protecting your throat whilst you cheer on our "angelic 9" 😀 😀 😀 ?!!! I got a feeling "e-ma" are going to sell like "hotcakes" when the commercial is finally released nation-wide in Japan 😀 !!!

love the cf…but it was too short. the girls look so lovely, i think the atmosphere of the cf really suit them because they represent elegant, cute, and class. however, i was rather annoyed by the korean reporter who kept asking about the whole kara situation, when it has nothing to do with the girls. but i really love the fact that they exited out with a smile of their face and handled it like a pro.
Whoa, SNSD are taking over the CF/CM world.
They’re advertising for everything now! LOL. 😀
The CM was indeed short, but it was nice and simple.
And it actually shows the product.
Glad to hear that our girls got to eat. (LOL, Idky, but I love hearing that they eat.)

WTF is wrong with the reporter? this IS an SNSD presscon for a cm that SNSD’s endorsing. this presscon has nothing to do with kara and their drama. how rude and at the same time put the girls on a rather uncomfortable feeling, however, they handled it rather well. even jiyoung’s dad had to drag SNSD’s name when the girls have nothing to do with kara’s issue :(.
In Japan, reporters, knowing that it’s unfair and unrelated, throw the rude question like that all the time. They don’t care whether they get an answer or not because it’s a publicity stant.
So that’s what they went to Japan for, they look gorgeous here. Soshi is being really secretive these days but the CF/CM deals are piling up, it must be good to be padding their wallets while they’re preparing for the next big project. Since the original press video is no longer available, I found another one:
if you look closer, Hyoyeon blink twice before Taengoo swallowed the candy, lol :). the investigators at tweeter were right about the CM deal…i first heard it from them last week. they also tweeted that SM will release something soon regarding their next single for japan. so hopefully, that’s all true!
whoa! Tiffany looks soo super dooper pretty at the event….kinda perfect. she’s always pretty, but she looks really nice in those pics. And i’m saying this even tho i have a huge Yuri bias.lol
anyways, SNSD basically owns Asia ^_^ and now i’m going to have to import those throat lozenges.lol

hehe…the girls certainly put a stopper on that rude reporter. and its ironic that right after their news, japanese rock band B’z was the next headline. B’z was the j-rock group that praise SNSD’s talents and officially introduced SNSD on their website.
i found another CM interview, this one is from ZoomInTV. its really cute to see the reactions of the mcs…the guy kept singing to “Gee” when the girls were being interviewed, but after seeing the actual CM materialized on the screen, he looked stunned, lol!
I also get the feeling that the japanese like Yoona’s face, I tend to observe the way the japanese media see each member, and Yoona’s face appeal to the japanese as well.

LOL I can’t help but notice the stark contrast between Seohyun and Yuri’s legs, especially in the last picture… from long, slim and white, to “stubby”, muscular and dark. No wonder Yuri said she doesn’t feel comfortable with all the attention on their legs.
looking at Yuri, she doesn’t seem to have gain weight but her legs have gotten a little thicker from the last time we’ve seen SNSD. she is considered a bit more curvy than the rest, but her legs didn’t seem to be that thick the last time i saw them on broadcasts. it seems like she might have leg edema or something…although i don’t really mind, however, its rather noticeable when she’s lined up with the other girls.

I think this is really ridiculous. They shouldn’t be asked about the KARA a situation at a press conference about them! But they handled it very professionally, they kept smiling and walked off the stage! Aside from that the press conference seemed to go well! Soshi jjang!
