Even though we saw SNSD wrap up promotions last week, they still managed to take home a fourth win on Music Bank against Wonder Girls, meaning that they would return to the show the following week. Meeting again for the second time on November 25, the two K-pop powerhouses went head to head for the number one spot and, with only 123 points separating the groups, SNSD secured their fifth K-chart win in a row for ‘the Boys’!
Despite the very small 123-point margin, this win displays SNSD’s unwavering popularity in Korea. (Just a little side, click here to listen to Sunny count the point difference. d:) Overall, SNSD have won the Music Bank K-chart 32 times.
Congratulations to SNSD! They were truly born to win~

The ‘2011 MelOn Music Awards‘ was held last night, 24th November, in the Seoul Olympic Stadium. SNSD has previously had tremendous success at these awards, taking home the ‘Artist of the Year Daesang’ (top award) in 2009 & 2010, the ‘Song of the year Digital Daesang’ in 2009 amongst a whole string of other awards. Whilst we all knew it was unlikely for SNSD to take home any awards this year due to their extremely late comeback, the girls still took home the ‘Global Artist Award‘ for having the greatest popularity in Korea and Overseas!
Unfortunately, SNSD were not able receive their award in person due to scheduling conflicts and thus their acceptance speech was shown through a pre-recorded video.

Taeyeon and Sunny are like twins: not only can you match their childish faces and petite statures that have led them to be known as the Danshin Duo, but their attitudes and understanding of one another are also matched. Their being roommates means they spend the most time with each other – it means that they understand one another a little more than anyone else.
While the two are dressed in different outfits for the Singles magazine photo editorial, one takes no notice due to their identical figures and expressions. They also sat down with Singles to talk SNSD’s return to the Korean music scene, fashion, and their friendship.
