Even Will.i.am can’t believe it! Just a couple hours ago, we reported SNSD’s amazing feat of breaking the 30 year gap of a non-Japanese girl group to enter the Oricon Chart top 3. We felt we had to have a solo post for this:
Put cho happy hat on because today, the whole world gets to witness the power of Soshi and Sones– So Nyuh Shi Dae is NUMBER ONE on the Oricon!! This is the first time this has ever been achieved by a non-Japanese Asian girl group, making history in freaking two days!
Gee– #1 on the Oricon; all-kill on Korean charts (Soribada, Melon, Dosirak, Naver, Daum, Bugs, Cyworld, Monkey)
Genie– #10 on the Oricon
Hoot MV Teaser– 1,000,000+ views on Youtube
DVD- #1 Tourai
Hey! Hey! Hey!– Episode with SNSD increased to 11.8% from 9.0% last week
Music Station– Episode with SNSD went up to 9.7% from 8.7% from previous week (which guest starred Oricon #2, previously #1 holder NYC)
We just had to kill it

UPDATE: SNSD just beat their record by reaching #1 on the Oricon with “Gee”! They also hold #10 with “Genie”
SNSD became the first ever Non-Japanese Asian girl group to break into the Oricon top 3! The Japanese version of “Gee” sold 66,000 copies in its first week of release, entering the prestigious weekly singles chart at #2.
It’s the first time in 30 years a female girl group has ever accomplished this feat. In 1980, British girl group “Nolans” released a song called “Dancing Sisters” and entered Oricon at #2.
Last month, SNSD’s Japanese debut single, “Genie” sold 45,000 copies in the first week, rounding up total sales of 97,000. With this, the girls were able to call themselves the first foreign female artist to rank that high (#4) for a debut single.
Just as “Gee” rocketed Soshi into stardom (get it- like rocket into space.. into the stars..)

So far, October has been jam packed: Shoujo Jidai had their activities in Japan, Taiwan concert was a huge success, SNSD released the teaser for their brand new single, 9-year-old Willow Smith whipped her hair back and forth (and will be more gee, gee, G than we’ll ever be), Herr0 ate a ham sandwich for lunch today, the sandwich had too much mayo, etc etc.
However, one thing we better not forget is… greentee greentea Greeentee‘s birthday!
By this time, you readers may dismiss this chunk as just “another birthday post”, but trust me- every staffer has his/her own special qualities, and Greeentee (aka GT) deserves so much love for his contribution to the blog.
A couple days ago, we praised Zheming for his hard work. If DC Comics has Batman and Robin, Snsdkorean has Zheming and Greeentee. Two super blogging powerhouses yo.

Last week, the whole world celebrated as 33 men were rescued from a Chilean mine. After more than two months, the miners made the 20 minute travel to escape. Spectators held their breath as a capsule pulled each man out, as they were aware of the many possible disasters, such as the capsule breaking, etc etc.
The last miner out was Luis Urzua, a man who risked his own life to ensure that all the other workers would be brought to safety first. A hero in his own right, Urzua was a true captain making sure he did his job as best as he could.
This isn’t too unrelated, so just wait for it:
Now our very own Snsdkorean staffer may not be Chilean, or a miner, or life threatened, or a hero, or even trapped in anything for 70 days, but I do believe that he shares very similar traits with Luis Urzua.

We all know of the greatness called SM Family Love. We witnessed it at SM Town Concert, twitpics, award shows, etc etc. Once again, we can see how SHINee and SNSD are not just label mates, but also a bunch of sisters and brothers.
