I found out a very miraculous thing. Using 9 multiply by any number, no considering zero, when you get the number, you keep adding them up till you get a single digit, like 9×15 = 135 = 1+3+5 = 9, 9×526 = 4734 = 4+7+3+4 = 18 = 1+8 = 9. I believe that’s the power of 9!

So what I mean…I made a comment a few days after “Gee” was release that in a couple of weeks it’ll be no. 1 on the Oricon ranking. I was WRONG, it actually only took less than 2 weeks for it to be no. 1 and breaking all kinds of records in the Japanese music industry. HOORAY for SNSD, HOORAY for “Gee,” HOORAY for “Hoot.” Let’s make this another memorable 2010 for the girls and make “Hoot” the song of the year and break their own record they set for “Gee.”

This an amazing achievement, but we should probably be aware that the #2 Rank that was reported yesterday was for a WEEKLY tally and the #1 achieved today is for a DAILY tally. The two ranks are separate and should not be confused with each other, and the #1 does not mean they broke their record of #2 set yesterday, so far the Girls still have NOT achieved Oricon #1 Weekly. I’m not at all trying to take anything away from the girls, I’m just trying to keep perspective while being a grinning happy man (at least for today!)
yeah…i understand where you’re coming from, and i knew that it was the singles charts rather than the weekly charts. however, the point is, is that Japan recognize SNSD and acknowledge the fact that they got the no. 1 position even if its the singles charts. that is a major achievement because they’re not JAPANESE and had just officially debuted last month. count the fact that they’re not heavily promoted in Japan but just a few appearances in music programs, that’s something to boast about. can you just be happy for them and for us fans, you remind me of Toby from “The Office.”
Yea I did state that I am happy at the end of my post. And yes I am an ultra-rational and I’m a pessimist most of the time, so I never get too overly excited or upset about anything. I’m not sure if herr0 herself was aware of the distinction between the daily and the weekly ranking, and I didn’t want people to misinterpret the real meaning of their ranks. Again, being a SONE I have joined the chorus in applauding the girls for accomplishing an amazing, never-done-before achievement by a foreign artist in Japan.
Yes they got first place in the daily charts in Oricon. The charts are meant to fluctuate and the sales number will increase or decrease as time goes by. Also, keep in mind that fans might have planned to alter the numbers by buying Gee on a specific date (Gee Day sort of). It will only be fair if you compare them with kpop groups that promoted in Japan. KARA has been on Japanese TV shows and performing a lot more than SNSD did, yet the results were not on par with SNSD’s. Same could be said for Brown Eyed Girls and 4Minute. It could also be down to the fact that other Jpop groups aren’t promoting at the moment that enabled SNSD to climb the charts. But nevertheless, they’re in a formidable position to make a statement about who they are in Japan. And if you have coverage from the likes of AKB48, Orange Range, gravure models, and actresses, you know everyone is listening.
o, thanks for the info. let’s hope they get no.1 at the weekly chart. and while we’re at it, let’s hope they conquer every chart in japan. lol^^ on to world domination!
they still hold the second position on the weekly charts…so give it a few days and they will mostly likely be no. 1. after all they have the no. 1 position on the daily ranking so it would no surprise if they can make it the weekly charts into no. 1 🙂
