Now that soshi’s anniversary is officially over according to Korean Standard Time, this is just a quick update about what’s new at SNSD Korean~

As you may (or may not) have noticed, we got a new layout! Overall, it’s not too big of a difference compared to the old one as far as positioning and whatnot, so we hope it’s not too hard to get used to haha. If you have any suggestions/comments, please leave them below and we’ll look into them!

The long overdue ‘about us‘ page is now public, and has been moved under the questions/comments menu.

In addition, we’ve released a full (okay, kinda full) soshictionary! *points to fourth tab from the left* If you followed this blog last year, then you may remember this as one of our anniverssary posts for soshi’s 3rd anniversary. This year we’ve brought it back and it’ll be here to stay as a permanent feature. A lot of terms were added, but we know we’re still missing quite a few (especially when it comes to all the cross pairings), so feel free to suggest terms that we’ve missed as well. 

Over the past little while, we’ve also adopted new members to the sk family! Please give a warm welcome to:

SNSD Tops the Trends for Fourth Anniversary!

On the day of their Anniversary, Girls’ Generation topped the worldwide trends list on social networking service twitter!

Proving once again, that SNSD truly is a global phenomenon, #snsd4thanni along with #Girls’ Generation had already began to trend across numerous countries prior to midnight last night, before topping the lists earlier today, thanks to SONEs from around the globe.  Continue reading →

Jessica the Style Icon!

Professional stylists featured on Korea’s tvN ENews program, recently created a list of top 40 idols according to their fashion; and topping the list for the best plain-clothes fashion was none other than Gorjess Sica!

With 35% of the votes, Jessica’s fashion was regarded as one that women wished to imitate the most, for being both girly and chic. Professional stylist Lee Hyunbum complimented:

Jessica dresses really well, and has a good understanding of that certain style. I think she is the best within Girls’ Generation.

My standing? I think all the girls’ are pretty fashionable, but there is no denying that Sica rocks the fashion world! Click here and here to see what I mean!

Other idols that made the top five were Davichi’s Kang Minkyung, B2ST’s Junhyung, T-ara’s Hyomin, and miss A’s Suzy respectively.

Most Worthy of International Recognition!

In a recently conducted survey, Girls’ Generation was voted as the K-pop stars most deserving of recognition outside of Korea.

From the 26th of July until the 2nd of August, a weeklong poll asked: “Which K-Pop Hallyu Star is Worth Overseas Recognition?” Girls’ Generation trumped the poll by garnering an outstanding 43.7% of the votes, that’s 83,705 out of the 191, 674 who voted!

One fans’ comment on the results:

Having Girls’ Generation in a survey is pointless because they’ll win.

So true, fellow SONE, so true.

For those keeping score, SM Labelmate Super Junior took the 2nd spot with 26% of the votes, followed by JYJ (8%), TVXQ (5.4%) and KARA (5.4%) taking 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively.

With the K-pop Hallyu Wave gradually spreading across the globe, it’s great to see that our girls’ are leading the pack!
