If you didn’t know, SHINee’s Key is known to follow girl group dances quite closely, often being able to imitate them on variety shows. This includes Miss A, 2NE1, and of course SNSD. With a new song out from the girls, he will show some SM family love right?
As expected!
But of course, there’s much more to hoot’s success than Key and PSYs imitations. As silis7noy2 (a sone to dote on) explains, Hoot was not expected to be as amajjang as it turned out to be in Korea~
In a couple days, it will be Pepero Day! Pepero Day is November 11, and is the Korean equivalent of Valentine’s Day. Since the date “11/11” resembles the Korean snack Pepero, it has been custom among couples and young people to exchange Peperos, candy, etc with one another.
As with the tradition among K-Netizens, another “Who Would You Like to Spend ___ Day With” poll has been taken. Out of the 2,007 voters in the course of six days, 58% (1,193) voted for no other than Kwon Yuri as the ideal person to spend Pepero Day with!
Although this is certainly not new, Yuri’s pre-debut Choco Pie CF with actor Jang Dong Gun has recently been gaining much attention. Aired only in China, the CF shows a really, really young Yuri, making people doubt if the female actress was actually our Yul. Titled “The Young Look of SNSD’s Kwon Yuri before Debut”, the video found its way to Korean portal sites, garnering interest in Yuri’s pure, school-girl image.
Reminds me of Into the New World /nostalgic
Anyway, check it out for yourselves under the cut and tell us what you think!
What is? SNSD’s power level – duhh. Vegeta would probably Hoot his pants if he ever met the girls.
Remember this from your childhood?
Unfortunately for us, we don’t have tiny capsules that can give us full sized motorbikes and such… but Japan of course, has their own fascination with the idea of convenience. Home to the highest number of vending machines per capita in the world (snacks, drinks, fresh broiled french fries, beer and toys!), Nippon has ‘stores’ lined wall to wall with toy capsule machines – now featuring soshi goods.
Yep. It’s true! According to Suchar12@Youtube, SNSD featured in the program, “Kalejoshop,” one of Poland’s biggest new channel (TVN 24) recently, where the reporter commented that “Girls’ Generation is a group at least as popular as Spice Girls.” The program talked about the girls’ successful debut in Japan as well as them wanting to gain more faithful foreign fans. Not only did the news include parts from their “Run Devil Run” MV, they also included parts of their new MV, “Hoot.” (It must be a sign that “Hoot” will be another hit?)
Now…if I were in Poland, watching the news while eating my breakfast and suddenly, they started talking about Girls’ Generation, I would totally spit out my milk on the person sitting next to me and spazz in shock (jk), but seriously! Its not the first time, the girls appeared somewhere in a different country. It just shows how popular the girls are worldwide~
Herro: The girls were also featured on MSN Italy last month. You can check it out [unsubbed] here! Anyone else think the woman’s pronunciation of the girls’ names sound a lot like Christina’s? Watch from 0:30

On a recent episode of “Invincible Youth” aired on the 5th, which Sunny appeared in along with ex-G7 member, HyunA, the comedian/one of IY’s host, Kim Shin Young, exposed that one time, when she was over SNSD’s dorm,

As you may know, the girls won on Music Bank with 17,285 points on the 5th. According to Cecil/chichinhu@Twitter, 17,285 (from Digital: 5964; Vote: 0; Album: 9390; Broadcast: 1931) is currently the highest point since Music Bank changed the K-Chart system.
*Updated with how points work on Music Bank, how many wins the girls have atm, etc.
A bar graph showing the total points various KPOP artists have scored on “KBS Music Bank” since 2008 (when K-Chart began) up to July of this year. By far, SNSD has the most Music Bank K-Chart points in total. The bar graph shows that SNSD’s points are at least double the points artists, such as Big Bang, 2PM, and KARA have scored within the 2 years.
