Yep. It’s true! According to Suchar12@Youtube, SNSD featured in the program, “Kalejoshop,” one of Poland’s biggest new channel (TVN 24) recently, where the reporter commented that “Girls’ Generation is a group at least as popular as Spice Girls.” The program talked about the girls’ successful debut in Japan as well as them wanting to gain more faithful foreign fans. Not only did the news include parts from their “Run Devil Run” MV, they also included parts of their new MV, “Hoot.” (It must be a sign that “Hoot” will be another hit?)
Now…if I were in Poland, watching the news while eating my breakfast and suddenly, they started talking about Girls’ Generation, I would totally spit out my milk on the person sitting next to me and spazz in shock (jk), but seriously! Its not the first time, the girls appeared somewhere in a different country. It just shows how popular the girls are worldwide~

There are shops near my place selling PCs and TV. They keep playing MVs and news cut of SNSD. I guess it really helps in selling the TVs and PCs. Make me wanna buy a TV too.
Man, the Poles must either have pretty good attention spans or they watch their televised news as background noise or something.
With regards to the English-speaking world, people in politics (or just political theory) talk about the question of (uni-/bi-/multi-)polarity, and it’d be interesting to see something like that in entertainment, too. To see the Nine sort of bypass the US/UK as far as where they focus their marketing.
But about the Polish news, like, you Americans, you know what I’m talking about, right? I mean, they show thirty seconds of the RDR video without, like, anything else happening. For all you non-Americans, there’s almost nothing we (Americans, I’m an American) ever, ever see on TV (news or whatever) where they just let you sit there and watch something for that long without jerking your attention around or telling you what to think about it.
They must expect the girls (that 30s of RDR MV to be precise) to be darn good attention-grabbers as to not to “disturb” the viewers from enjoying it, I think that’s the more likely explanation, but that’s just how I see it. But yea it’s rare to see American news showing something for that long without the reporting making any comments.

The audience may look bored, but really people there find it impolite to yell and cheer during an act ( it’s considered distracting ) or maybe they’re not familiar with the song/Soshi, I’m not sure; my Khmer’s really rusty.
