According to SM’s official Facebook page, starting this Friday on Music Bank, the girls will begin promoting the Korean version of ‘Mr. Taxi’ as a follow up track. Though they have performed the Korean version of ‘Mr. Taxi’ before at their 2nd Asia Tour solo concerts and as a comeback stage with ‘The Boys’, they will be officially promoting the track until the end of December.
And with their promotions, a new album is planned to be release on December 7th containing new images (so I’m guessing it’s a repackaged album(?)).
If you recalled, the girls promoted the Japanese version of ‘Mr. Taxi’ in April of this year and as soon as their single was released, the track quickly climbed up the charts–even ranking 1st on the Oricon chart. Perhaps they’ll have the same success with the Korean version of ‘Mr. Taxi’.

It’s a shame the girls are ending their ‘The Boys’ promotions, which they won 1st place 11 times for (5 consecutive wins on Music Bank, 3 on Inkigayo, and 3/Triple Crown on Mcountdown). I was hoping to see them win on Music Bank again with ‘The Boys’ Friday. The news has definitely surprised me. I was really hoping they would promote ‘Trick’ or ‘Oscar’, but I’m glad they’re still gonna be promoting!

Mr. Taxi…seriously. This is just a slap in the face to all their fans. SM is literally trying to see if their fans will buy the same product twice. I mean come on, if you had to be cheap asses then you should have at least promoted a song that any SONE worth a shit had not seen performed a dozen times.

SM must really love this song, how many times do they want to use it? Jap. single, Jap. 1st album, Korean 3rd album, now repackaged 3rd album too? It’s fine if they want to promote it as a follow-up song, but releasing a repackaged album based on that is really too much…

I would also prefer they promoting some other song from The Boys (not Trick or Oscar though), but that’s ok, at least it won’t demand so much practice from the girls (having 2 months straight of promotions is already tiresome enough).
But releasing a repackage album is ridiculous. The whole idea of repackage albums is already a rip-off by itself, but releasing one without new songs (a la Baby Baby) is even worse.
Agree too. I really prefer they would promoting other songs in “The Boys” album like oscar, top secret and how great is your love. In my opinion, since Mr.Taxi (korean ver.) is like a follow up of the japs.ver., they should pay more attention to other songs in “The Boys” album. (although mr.taxi is included in the album).
And a repackage album? SM, We Sones are getting poorer and poorer….T.T….
anyway, glad to know their journey in Music Bank does not end there! XD

December 7 is my last paper for my 2nd semester final exam and they’ll release new album?? WOW!!! Just like today, live broadcast of 2011 MAMA attended and will perform by the Girls will be broadcasted and I have a History exam.. sweet~~ guess its my reward for studying hard..XD
You know, I’d actually argue that any real fan would boycott this “repackage”. I know it is hard to not support the girls, but at the same time we need to show that we don’t support shitty business practices like this re-release of a product we have already bought. If we are going to shell out our hard-earned money than we need new content. Not the same damn thing we already bought. SM needs to know that we are not sheep who will mindlessly buy their products. We need to vote with our wallets.
Unfortunately, this will never work because a whole lot of SONE are sheep and will mindlessly buy these products in order to “support the girls” not realizing that in the long run they are damaging both SNSD’s brand name and the k-pop industry as a whole. Think about it, if this money grab works, than other companies might try the same thing, and the next thing you know we will be receiving less new content from everyone.
Actually, I wonder what the nine of them think about this marketing move…
And I don’t think Tiff or the others girls with commitments during this period will be happy, even though they’re tired, if they knew their fans are unhappy about this move. But I guess its all about the money involved…
Ummm… ok… It will be nice to see the girls more on TV but isn’t this a little too much? They’ve already released it too in the current album D:
I hope, at least, they have something new on it as well. The US maxi single isn’t going to be released until 2012 so it would be something.

Think about it this way people. They’re only going to be promoting until the end of december, so it makes sense to promote Mr. Taxi which they already have choreographed given the shorter time period and considering the work they would have to do to come up with an entirely new dance routine only to promote it for a couple weeks on top of their usual schedules. Not only that but Mr. Taxi is the second most popular song off the album on the korean charts, exemplified by the fact the girls were on Inkigayo’s Take 7 for it the week after they won the triple crown for The Boys.

I was really hoping they would promote TRICK ! Definitely one of the best song of the album. I think it could be a hit if it was promoted… But whatever, Mr.Taxi is great too…

Guess I was right…. “Bring the boys out” song is a total flop, it sucks, the only reason why people listen to it is because it’s performed by SNSD… so they were caught off guard and now they change to another backup song…. They should sue Teddy Riley and give the girls a vacation cos they look exhausted
I like The Boys. But, with Wonder Girls comeback, on top of IU coming this week and Troublemaker, it was going to be a bit of a fight/scramble for the rest of the month anyways.

After seeing the girls dancing around at the radio station for Oscar, I was really hoping to see if they’d bring that sort of energy to the stage. I mean, I assume they will when they do it for a concert, but that’s all fancams and hoping for an eventual concert dvd.
Ah well, Taxi’s fine, but there’s always room for a surprise, I guess. And there’s the Christmas program that they’re doing too, so we’ll have plenty of chances to see them this month.
I agree too,with the SONES who are opposing to this *repackage album. But, what other SONES say abt promoting till the end of Dec also makes sense. Sm probably is thinking abt the girls if they will be tired or not so they do not want other angels to make a new dance besides I think Sm is smarter than that. Anyway, who needs to buy the new repackage album, the internet will provide those (things) for us.

As a Sone, I will support the girls no matter what..but SM make a mistake here..
Mr.Taxi has been promoted for a long time since its released on April..I don’t think
they should promote it this long..
Their new album has many good songs like Oscar, Trick, Top Secret, Lazy Girl..
I think most Sone will prefer they promote these new songs
compared to Mr.Taxi.but I’m not saying I dislike Mr.Taxi..of course I love it..
I just think SM should focus on promoting heir new songs…

Hmmm I’m not really happy about this, from a SONE point of view. Mr Taxi sounds the best in Jap, and the Korean version is basically the same thing with the change in lyrics. I don’t mind both, but I just think that SM would earn more profit if they actually promoted another song.. such as from their “The Boys” album or a new single.. 🙂 Regardless, gonna love their live performances 😛
