Earlier today, it’s been revealed that SM Entertainment, the girls’ agency, is to produce the Korean version of “Hana Kimi”, which is also known as “‘Hanazakari no Kimitachi e”.
On March 10th, an official from SM Entertainment said, “We will produce the 2011 drama ‘Hanazakari no Kimitachi e’ (For You in Full Blossom).”

Notably, “Hana Kimi” is a manga (comic) that ran from 1996 to 2004 and sold approximately 17 million copies in Japan. It has already been made into both a Japanese drama (which had an average rating of 17.04% in viewers and is more widely known as “Hanazakari no Kimitachi e”) and a Taiwanese drama (which had the highest rating of the year). Both versions have been extremely popular like the original manga.
SME has revealed that the Korean adaptation is scheduled for 16 episodes that will tell the stories of the students’ hopes and dreams.
The storyline of “Hana Kimi” uses the background story of an all male high school that is known for its hot looking male students. Mizuki (the lead female character) enters the all male high school disguised as a boy….The storyline will involve a similar lively plot filled with teenage comedy with a cute twist. There will still be a strong storyline and will have a large cast of “hotties.”

The Korean adaptation is to be titled “Beautiful You (아름다운 그대에게/Areumdaun Geudaeyege)” and is planned to broadcast this summer. The cast, however, is still a mystery. We all know that SME has many stars in their agency, including Kangta, BoA, U-Know & Changmin of DBSK, Super Junior (10~15 members), SHINee (5), Girls’ Generation (9), f(x) (5), CSJH The Grace (5), Zhang Liyin, The TRAX (2), Go Ara, and Lee Yeong Hee, so it seems very likely that the cast will consist of mostly SM stars.

Personally, I think it’ll be epic if some of the members participate in the drama or one of them is the lead character. I wonder if the lead character has to cut her hair short in order to act her role. I’ve watched the Taiwanese version of “Hana Kimi” before and I remember the actress’s hair was cut short. I’d nominate Taeyeon to be the lead character since her hair is already short :] (JK)
Because the cast is still unknown, all the members of Girls’ Generation had acting lessons during their trainees years, and anything is possible, what if some of the members were to participate in the upcoming drama? Who would you want to see as the lead female character, Mizuki? Would you want to see the girls participate in the drama even with their scheduled promotions like Mr. Taxi/tours? Please don’t hesitate to add your two cents.

But if SNSD will participate, it would be interesting to see one of them as Mizuki since the girls look hot as dudes. lol And if no one believes that they should see those soshi flower boy pics.

I don’t mind any kiss scenes as long as the girls get to act in dramas to show off their acting skills and gain exposure in an area they’ve really been lacking in the last couple of years.
Perhaps Yuri, YoonA or SooYoung for the lead male character 😉 ?!!! Personally, I think the girls’ schedules are too packed for such a venture :D, but, like it’s already been stated, anything is possible at this point in time :). Having ALL 9 in would be COOL though (at least for a few episodes :D) !!!

This is gonna be really interesting. But id rather not see a member as mizuki, they’re going to be exhausted as heck if that happens.. oh, and i can totally see onew playing ikuta toma’s role.
I was hoping that they might add a twist and it will be a all girls school instead of a guys school. Who knows, maybe our girls might cameo once in a while? 😀 And heechul would make a perfect “girl”. Henry said so. Haha.
i really want one them to take the lead, like sooyoung (i just think that she can look like a guy especially with her short hair)… however i think that Amber (of fx) would fit more 🙂

It would b very intersting. If a member was to be a lead character or one that sticks through out the whole series though, i wouldnt want any more then three in as obviously they’re going to start promoting again in Japan and having all 9 through
out the series could b tiring on their side. If one or two continiusly are in the drama and the others have cameos at point it would b better. The series aint long tho so it shouldnt b too draining. Either way tho, this should b intersting.
Hmm… Let’s see what SME has up their sleeves for SNSD if they were to participate in the production in this drama, perhaps one of ’em may even land a main role. Acting is something I don’t really give much thought about, but with SNSD, it’s sure to catch my attention.

Due to their fixed, well-designed hair styles as a whole, I don't see any possibility one of them would have hair cut for this drama, as well as spare the time from tight schedule to film it.
But if I can vote without the concern for reality, my choice goes to Sooyoung and Yoona!

in f(x)-1) Amber:perfect choice but she must good in korean (she is ameican-taiwanese) and i dont know if she have acting background before 2)Sulli:child actress, but she will be in another drama with nichkhun+seolung 3) Krystal: have acting background and she is good in sports while in SNSD, i only can imagine YURI. She is perfect fine in boy attire (in 2008, she placed (?) the best in boy attire in M.net ranking, i think she looks boyish if she cut her hair short, she also have acting background, good in sport…another one is Taeyeon, it also make me suspicious when she cut her hair short…
Hope they debut some of the ‘Guy Generation’ (alternatively known as M1 in some sites) members here …Wow, if they involve the whole of SME, or even if only one member of each group, the series will de darg popular. It’s like SHINee’s already quite popular in Taiwan so people will start comparing them and the Fahrenheit (the group that acting in the Taiwanese version) guys… Anyways SHINee already won based on singing and dancing haha. Then SNSD just took over Japan so there’ll be comparisons again… Yunho, Changmin, BoA are like international so wow.
And I can imagine SO many SM songs to be sprinkled into the series. Gee will be in the beginning when the lead actress first catches a glimpse of the lead actor … Chu, the first kiss scene… etc

I’m a fan of the japanese version because it was really fast phase and hilarious :). If SM is producing this I would like for it to be reverse story instead: like instead of an all-boys high school it would be an all-girls high school, and the male lead is the one pretending to be a girl. I also don’t want SM to put all their idols in the show, a few of them would be enough…
I think yoona would be great as the lead! becouse she has some goo scting and cf skills under her belt, But Taeyeon would be awesome aswell i think? or YURI

oh wow, I seriously LOVED the Japanese version of Hana Kimi, so I’m totally excited to hear they’re making a Korean version of it! plus I’d be super stoked if they used SM artists for their actors– considering pretty much everyone from the SM family are good looking ;). but in all honesty I highly doubt they’d use one of our SNSD girls as a lead role just because of their set plans to take over the world :p. But I wouldn’t be surprised, actually I welcome it!, if they showed up an episode or two as side characters! Now that would be awesome.
But since we are allowed to dream, and are sharing who we’d prefer to see as main or side characters, I’ll totally indulge myself with this opportunity! for the lead female role as Mizuki, I choose YURI: she can act, she’s athletic, she fits the tomboy persona perfectly, & when the time comes for her to “blossom” into a woman, she’d do that perfectly as well! The only thing I’m iffy about is her cutting off her beautiful hair for that role… I cannot imagine Yuri with a boyish haircut… In fact I can’t picture any of the girls with a boyish haircut other than Tiffany and Sooyoung. But TIFFANY would be my next choice, just because I think she’d make a hot ‘cross-dresser’. I honestly loved Tiffany with short hair– even those she had a boyish haircut, she has such feminine facial features. and Tiffany has yet to showcase her acting skills so this would be a perfect opportunity!
Lol JESSICA would be the perfect person to play the leader of the groupies from the all girls school. the Ice Princess was born for that role ❤

Hmm, I got a whiff somewhere that one of the twists [if ever] that they will add to the Korean version of Hana Kimi is that instead of all-boys high school, it’ll be all-girls high school and the leading girl [Mizuki] will be a boy [cross-dressing as a girl]. hi sones..this is my 2nd opinion..after thought it alots about the role of mizuki (leading actress), i thinks this will be being compared with Go eun chan (yoon eun hye) & Go mi nam (Park shin hye), both drama was success in korea & international…so, to make it different between 3 roles, Mizuki roles should be do in Manly, masculine, tough, sporty guy instead of boyish charm (tomboyish) like Go eun chan & Go mi nam roles. After watching BTS Dior, i think Yuri looks so handsome in guy outfit like manly and masculine instead of tomboy…plus i see the video where yuri doing some boxing (tough angel??i’m not sure, during concert), i dont know why but she’s perfect in that roles, but if mizuki in typical tomboyish charm, i rather choose milky-white Taeyeon but if mizuki in Manly n masculine sporty guy, my eyes only on dark skin Kwon yuri….what is ur opinion about this?
I really hope that Sme will give the Mizuki ‘s role to yuri. Because she is so Hot and handsome as a guy. And as for her female American friend i want jessica or tiffany. And if they give these role to them then i will die in happiness keke~

I cant imagine any of them as the cast! Watching the original cast with Oguri shun and Horikita Maki will be hard liking the korean version. Everyone should deff watch the original japanese version first. it’s amazing !!! and the actors are sooo good and hot ;D hehe

I respect all of you guys’ opinions, but I think casting someone so recognizable/popular/well-known like SNSD, SJ, DBSK, BoA, Kangta might actually hinder the audience from actually believing the unique characters in Hana Kimi which so many people have learnt to love. I propose an SM trainee that we have never seen before and that would help the character to grow. That would be great…
