Although Sooyoung’s birthday has already passed by, Kwangdong Pharmaceuticals has just used their Twitter to release a fresh new picture of her! The account tweeted “Sooyoung, a member of Vita500 models, SNSD celebrated her birthday in February^^ Although this is a bit late, we will reveal a really fresh photo of her in conjunction with her birthday^^. She’s really pretty~ Who will be next?”
3 years and 3 months. That’s how much time Taeyeon spent in training, preparing herself to become a singer. 3 years and 6 months, that’s how long she’s been the leader of SNSD. But these numbers…just simply don’t cut it if we had to describe just exactly who and what Kim Taeyeon is to SNSD.
Edit; The normal link is still “coming soon” but HERE they have a Hoot theme going on for the girls on the Japanese site. A possible hint?!
That’s right! The official Japanese site by SM for SNSD will be opening on March 5th 12:00 JST (according to Yurui912@twitter). Now it’s probably noon since it’s already past midnight..but be on the lookout fans!
Here’s the link!
Now let’s kill that refresh button. This post will be updated once the site opens with our personal screen caps and all!
The rankings were all listed in this month’s edition of the magazine. Rankings were based off of last year’s album sales, with SNSD selling 121,000 copies! AKB48 came in first with 679,000 copies and Perfume and Kara came in third and fourth respectively.
Pictures speak a thousand words and these that are about to be shared definitely do. First we have pictures from Elle’s online site and then we have some fan taken pictures of Jessi at Gimpo Airport. Word has it SNSD is back in Japan today!
Be prepared to be blown away by some of our girls’ beauty 🙂
SM Entertainment has been known as the “star factory” in the Korean music industry, a moniker well deserved due to their impeccable track record of creating some of the biggest Kpop acts in the dawn of the Korean Wave, a company so influential that it has been steering the direction of the Kpop industry since the 90s. From H.O.T. to S.E.S., to Shinhwa, to BoA, to TVXQ and Super Junior, all former and current SMTown artists have left behind significant legacies with some having reached the highest level of success for any Asian artist. By 2007, SM was gearing up for their next big project, it would prove to be an audacious and risky undertaking – the goal was to push the envelope and create a truly novel and unique female group, with visions to dominate not only Korean music but the entire Asian music market.
Awhile back we had posted that SNSD was to win the Pop Music Award at the Korea Republic Art and Culture Award. Today was the actual ceremony where the girls received the award! The ceremony was held at the Seoul Olympic Park Gymnastic Stadium.
The award recognized the girls’ achievements with their 2nd full length album Oh! that sold up to almost 200,000 copies AND not only that, but for their amazing success at topping the Oricon Charts in Japan. Once they were on stage, the girls stated “Thank you for presenting us with such a meaningful award. Thank you to all of you who love SNSD’s performances. We will show you the SNSD who work hard within the country and overseas.”
I don’t write these types of posts often..and I despise sounding like a ball of cheese but for an occasion as special as this, I have to write something, right? 😛
If you have no interest in reading about my thoughts towards SNSDKorean and all that ish, feel free to just skip right on over this! I apologize if this isn’t written in a super fancy manner or whatever, but I thought it’d be best to write it in a tone that suits my personality 🙂
