It’s been announced for the 26th annual Golden Disk Awards (Korean Grammy Awards) SNSD has been nominated in three categories which include: Album of the Year, Digital Album of the Year and Most Popular Artist of the Year.  The awards committee selects the winners based on sales figures throughout the year from January 1, 2011 to November 30, 2011, along with other various criteria.

This year’s awards ceremony will be held at the Kyocera Osaka Dome in Osaka, Japan over two days, January 11-12, 2012.  Interesting choice of venue for this event considering this is Korea’s biggest music award ceremony.  Has the Hallyu Wave had such an impact in Japan that the ceremony doesn’t need to be in Korea??  It’s also been announced that the girls will perform at the event on January 12.  No word yet as to which song/s they will perform.

Good luck to the girls at this year’s Golden Disk Awards!  Let’s hope they get the “all kill” and win the three awards they were nominated for!  SNSD Fighting!!
