In answer to your questions:
1) It hasn’t been confirmed yet what the posters (Type A / Type B) will look like.
2) Log-on to Soshi Catalogue (at the side tab of the Comments page) to look for on-line sites that will be selling the CD/DVDs. One site I use is CDJapan (www.cdjapan.co.jp). They give a discount for new customers, are very prompt in their delivery (in fact, you will get the pre-ordered item even before the official release date ;)!), and their packaging is very secure and good. Their prices are also very competitive. Hope this helps in answering your queries. Cheers !

SM/UMJ really timed it perfectly! SNSD is to perform “Mr. Taxi” on Hey3x on June 6 (they recorded yesterday) which coincides w/ their arena tour. the release of the album is June 1 and sources say that both the single and the album will spike up in sales because the tour is basically their promotions :)…love the album cover, reminiscent of their E-ma CM in japan!

Wow… 1st full album… ^^ awesome!!!
When I impulsively entered SNSD’s Japanese website yesterday afternoon (around 3:30pm 5/15 on US Pacific Time), my heart started racing when I saw that the “BIG NEWS” sign was gone and replaced with a brand new color and logo. This was before any news site had reported it so I was skeptical at first about what this really is, but once I clicked inside I was immediately in awe of the beautiful pictures of the first album and I just thought to myself “for once rumors were true and our wishes were granted”
If any SME/UMJ stylists and A&R staff are reading this, you guys are *&%*( awesome! You knew EXACTLY what to do with these girls to make them look absolutely drop dead gorgeous, omg words are not adequate to describe how stunningly angelic this Victorian styled concept is on these girls. I can’t wait for the release of this album, even though it’s expensive I think it’s going to be worth every penny. SNSD hwaiting!
I realize that whenever a new album of an artist comes out, this inevitable cycle occurs.
1. A small minority of people will lament over being unable to purchase the latest album from their favourite artist due to a lack of money.
2. While those who are able to purchase aforementioned album are satisfied with the finished product, there will be some fans who’ll be feeling rather generous and upload all of the songs from the album onto Youtube for everyone to hear.
3. People can now listen to the songs in high definition/quality without having to pay a single cent for the album while a few of ’em laugh at those gullible or naive enough to buy the real thing as opposed to listening to them on the internet for free.
To be fair, if everyone had my kind of mindset (where you don’t fork out the cash to pay for the album and listen to them on a non-proprietary platform such as Youtube instead), companies like SME wouldn’t be raking in the profits to pay for whatever it is they’re paying for, although people would still support the artist(s) by hearing their music. However, the way I see it is quite different. (Then there’s the piracy… but that’s a whole other subject.)
I’m going to borrow content from two comments I’ve seen on Youtube. (Rephrased, of course.)

Uploading the songs onto Youtube gives everyone the accessibility to hear what the music sounds like. And if they love it, they just go to the musical artist’s site (or any popular music site like YesAsia), buy the album for 10 bucks. And encourage the artist(s). Sure, people can still be contented by having on Youtube only, but there people out there buying the soundtrack because they saw this on Youtube.
I don’t know about others or myself even, but that’s how fans and major supporters always go about when it comes to music they like. If they hear some good music on Youtube or elsewhere, they try another track from the album or soundtrack. If they like that track as well? They buy the album! And by doing that, they support the artist (as they know that they’re not only being payed, but also appreciated in return for the work they’ve put out).
IMO, Youtube = One of the biggest form of publicity.

As the album, hmm… not much to comment about except the dresses. Kind of reminds of ‘Victorian Era’ clothing, although I would like someone to correct me on that.
In my opinion the act of uploading the songs on Youtube is not legal, but the fact that you can’t actually download the song makes listening to them on Youtube perfectly fine. So this one isn’t really black and white but I agree in general Youtube is a great publicity tool and is really no different than listening to previews on iTunes or listening to entire songs on Melon, Solibada or Bugs. What Youtube needs to do to make this “more legal” is to attach links to directly purchase these songs digitally.
But ultimately, what you’re getting by paying the extra bucks isn’t just the music itself, but all the extras that you get with it, the packaging, the photobooks, the posters all containing beautiful physical pictures of the girls we love. But whether you buy the songs digitally or physically are all forms of support to the artist, the worst thing a fan can do is download the songs illegally and never paying a cent for all the hard work these girls put in. If you don’t have a money now, save up and buy the album later, it’s better late than never, the girls will surely appreciate the most sincere form of support – buying their albums.
Btw I can see the girls are super tired, especially Taeyeon and Hyoyeon… dark circles around their eyes, but they still remained cheerful and upbeat on the news interview. How can this not tug your heart at least a little bit? Please, buy the album and give them the most fundamental form of support they deserve!

Can’t see the YouTube video on my iPhone for some reason. But you’re right that it dies kind of look similar to the Chocolate Live concept. However we don’t know yet which song is this Victorian concept for, or if it’s just for the whole album. But this actually reminded me of their first Korean album Baby Baby but a more matured and classy version, the color scheme definitely matches the old pale/white theme signifying the freshness and purity.
I rather purchase 2 regular albums than drop 84 for the deluxe version. I can give one away as a gift. Plus that’ll be better for increasing their album sales figures. I hoping that the girls will finally win the on the oricon weekly and monthly with their new album. I’ll help anyway I can. BTW tiffany is super hot!

Depends, usually japanese artists don’t make pvs for albums only for singles. however, namie amuro made 3 pvs for some of the songs in her latest album, so there could be a good possiblity that UMJ will make one for SNSD. “Mr. Taxi” wasn’t supposed to have a pv but they made one in the last minute (hence it being unsatisfactory to SONES). and w/ SNSD, surely UMJ wouldn’t want to pass up on it, since the delux edition of the album will include a newly filmed “Mr. Taxi” pv :).
Save up, guys; I personally think the Deluxe version is worth the price (LOTS of SNSD stuff included + 12 songs from our “angelic 9” 😉 !) I kinda like the “box” packaging to the whole release :D, don’t you ?!!

LOL I totally hear you, as a male fan I have no use for the make-up case and the pink bag. Being that 70-80% of Japanese fans are female I can see why they’re including such items. I think the photobook and poster for the two versions are actually different, but I think I’ll stick to the cheaper limited edition.
actually, including a ‘hot item’ on a single or album is very popular in japan. you can buy a specialize magazine that cost roughly around $85 which includes a tote bag from top designers. and since SNSD has a pretty large female fans in japan, the bag is inevitable, lol! there’s also like getting a gundam toy if u buy a gundam magazine, etc. its really creative and at the same time profitable because the fans are willing to buy a copy because it will include a special item. you can still buy the delux and just give they bag away to a sister or a girl friend.
LOL no… I don’t have any siblings and I don’t have a girlfriend at the moment. Even if I did it wouldn’t be smart to give her the bag and the make-up case, doing so would just be asking for trouble because she’ll think that I care more about SNSD than her.

Honestly though, how many times did they fly back and forth between countries this past week? They had a performance in Korea on the 11th and then Music Station in Japan on the 13th and then a perf in Pyeongchang, Korea on the 14th and now they’re in japan again for this interview! So I wonder if any of those performances were pre-recorded or if they really flew back and forth between countries in that short time period?

they all look pretty but the standout for me is seobaby. hyoyeon looks very pretty. i think this definitely means no more weird hair will ever grace the pretty lil head of hers. fany and yoona looked a lil different. this look is very mature for the girls. the song titles you aholic has me thinking that fany will probably singing that part of the song for some reason. i’m totally expecting a different sound in this album but its kinda of sad that nothing looks like a ballad song but oh well i’m still trying to figure out how im gonna get a hold of the album!
apparently, the delux edition has been “sold out” since yesterday’s announcement of the album on tower records japan, lol! the album is also no. 1 & 2 on rakuten over all sales chart (the largest internet shopping mall in japan). if anyone’s purchasing the delux edition, i suggest you all hurry because the limited posters are running out…fast!

Good for Soshi! Good for me too as I wasn’t ever planning on getting the First Press and fight for a copy with all the crazed and affluent SONEs out there. I just placed my order for two copies of the Limited Edition from HMV, their prices seem to be more competitive vs CDJapan but the bad thing about HMV is they fold the posters instead of rolling it up.
the limited edition is currently no. 1 on hmvjapan. over at cdjapan, the girls have taken over both the real time and daily chart rankings w/ delux & limited placing 1 & 2 on real time, and 1,2,3 on daily rankings for all 3 editions. they are also no. 1 on amazon japan for pre-orders :).
this is considered a MIGHTY achievement for a foreign group that barely promoted the album, and it was just announced yesterday; 2 weeks before the actual release of the album! despite the delux costing an arm and a leg, this edition sold “faster” than any other editions they released so far, lol (which started w/ “Mr. Taxi”). “Mr. Taxi” delux edition is also no longer available for purchase. and “Mr. Taxi” is still no. 1 on billboardjapan for 3 consecutive weeks, and climbed up to no. 6 on the oricon daily.

When they first release their “Genie” concept, it intimidated the japanese men…but found themselves having many fangirls instead :). Now this concept makes them even more unreachable because they’re too pretty :)…they look like they came out of a fairytale book, lol :)!
