It’s been reported that Chinese SONES at KTYCHINA, a well-known Taeganger fanbase, has bought a star for Taeyeon and registered it as “Taeng Star”. The star that they bought the rights to belongs to the constellation of Pisces because Taeyeon’s zodiac sign is Pisces.
So legit and epic! I wonder how Taeyeon reacted (if she already found out) or will react to this. SONEs from KTYCHINA are so sweet!! (;

Yup it’s legit. A lot of fans had been giving a star for their idols. I had always dreamt of giving a star to someone I’d consider special 😉

Sadly this is most likely a scam, either the certificate or the company itself. Generally star naming has no official status whatsoever, but this is even worse. There is no star at Pisces 23 29 02 recorded in IAU.
Well legally speaking it is not a scam, it is named and being recorded in their registry. But you are correct that it is not registered with the IAU and they’re the only organization authorized to name stars that astronomy professionals actually use. But it is the thought behind it that counts, it fortunately does not cost a large sum of money and the effort should be applauded.
