Like Maknae has said before in an episode of ‘Factory Girl’, “nothing is impossible“.
According to sources like sportsseoul.com and Fanwonder, SM Entertainment might possibly head to South America to continue their ‘SM Town Live World Tour’ this July due to SM’s artists’ huge popularity there.
It seems that in a survey, ‘Which artiste will have a concert in Brazil?’, conducted February this year via a TV broadcast, SM’s artists’ Super Junior, BoA, Girls’ Generation, and SHINee were in the top 4 and in another survey conducted in November last year by Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE) regarding Brazilian fans’ choice of famous Korean singers, Super Junior came in 1st, SHINee 2nd, BoA 4th, and Girls’ Generation 5th.
Music industry official said, “SM’s ripple effect is really great. Not only in US, Japan, China, the artistes have managed to make impact even to Europe and South America and this is such a rare phenomenon for Korean artistes. Isn’t this the way of the true ‘World Stars’?”.
This July, if SM Entertainment decides to come to South America to continue the ‘world tour’ in the region, concerts might be held in South American countries such as Brazil and Chile and attending artists include BoA, DBSK, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x), etc.
Though SM Entertainment hasn’t officially confirmed this yet, nothing is impossible right? What do you guys think? Personally, I think it’s pretty cool if the SM Town Live 2011 World Tour comes to South America. South American fans would have a chance to see some of their favorite K-Pop singers perform live. If they do head to South America, I pray that they’ll head north after haha. I hope they have another SM Town Live concert in North America because I’ve been saving up for it haha.

Hah. The Koreans’ cultural stock is moving, I guess, and it’d be, for lack of a more eloquent way to put it, it’d be a hell of a thing for SM to make that kind of a gesture. The additional demands on the performers, though… and amidst all the contract wrangling that we hear about every now and then. I know there’s tension in the northwest, and there used to be some between Brazil and their southern neighbors, but I wonder what the relations are nowadays – as in, I doubt there’ll be a real “South America” SM Town event, as opposed to one for Brazil, probably. Anyway.

I live in Chile, and judging by the performances ive seen on youtube of kpop artists and how the crowd reacts, let me tell you, it WONT be like that here. Girls here will eat-them-up. They’ll try to get past security, push one another, bite and spit, only to get an inch closer to these guys.
Anyways, it would be just amazing if they came!
as much as i like that SM’s really going for the “world tour” i hope that SNSD won’t be coming in this one. they already have the arena tour which will last for the duration of june, then SMTown Paris, then one month of break before their actual comeback in september. its like SM’s not giving the girls any “real” break at all….just leave this tour to SuJu because they seem to be the most wanted over in SA.
LOL i know latin fans are quite… hardcore, but i dont think they will brake security bite and spit XD but i would love them more if they come here 😀

I still can believe that they may come here. Brazil is the country with the most number of japaneses. It shows that the asian music is very influent here. K-Pop is very popular here.

omg! have they forgotten about australia? we are sooooo sooo much closer to them, and there’s sooo many fans here, i’m 100% sure we can fill the house. even rain’s concert which was POORLY organized (stupid organizers, i still hate them!) manage to get thousands of fans. but we’re talking about all of SM here, SNSD, suju or DBSK themselves can have a full house concert, let alone all of SM.

I am not Peruvian but i am touched by their love of Kpop, they’re acting out with pure love of Kpop but nothing else. their recent flash mobs and campains for wanting SMTown Live in Peru is vey good and sincere, they do deserve at least 1 SMTown live and more in the future, If Korean Kpop industry wants Hallyu to be truely global, the expansion into Latin America is ievitable. Time is just about right now to initialize the expansion. good luck to LA Kpop fans & Hallyu.

As for other Latin American countries, they may as well deserve SMTown Live in their regions, I really think SME would prefer to hold a series of concerts in more than one country in Latin America instead of just one country, If and only if SME is decided to expand into Latin America. There are many factors to take into consideration but the 3 first priorities are popularity, profitability and reputation of Hallyu. (I will not into the details here). Anyway good luck to Latin American fans and hope you will get what you’ve been wishing.
