*spazz* I’m loving the new look and the colour of the shoes going with the ringmaster outfit makes their legs look even longer. The checkered shirt and hot pants reminds of their performance of Lee Hyori’s U Go Girl. But the best part is the part before Tiff’s “DJ, put it back on” screams for a mash up with She-Ra.

It does sound weird in Japanese, but I’m blaming hearing the Korean version first on that one. It’s still great and the girls look amazing! I thought they were going with a cute concept for Japan, but for trying to go cute, they sure do look sexy, and still with cuteness to spare.

i thought it would sound odd in japanese, but it sounds freaking awesome! its hard to really distinguished the lyrics because the girls are singing them way too fast. but i can hear a little bit of jessica’s american twang in her part, lol :). i was totally looking forward to taengoo’s part, and she didn’t disappoint!
Wow! Their faces are all maturing beautifully, but for me Taeyeon looks the best. GIven her dorky side, I think she gives off the most gorgeous, sexy and at the same time cute charisma while singing. 🙂

Yes it sounds weird at first but I was ecstatically happy the whole time. I love this MV and all shots of HyoYeon was gorgeous. Her dancing camera angle may have been brain-aching but at least it focuses on her. Great MV and SNSD always does fantastic. Everyone is beautiful and good luck to them! They’re going to have success in Japan.

As a fan, I don’t see the point of putting so many scenes of that SM trainee in the video as well as the very last part. I don’t get it – was it supposed to be him, receiving his wish from the genies and becoming a “superstar, shining star, superstar?” (Turning Tiffany and the genies into his “biggest fan(s).”) LOL
But from the viewpoint of SM or the director, I guess it’s legitimate to include those scenes.
Apart from that, I’m very impressed and in love with Jessica, Tiffany and Taeyeon’s parts! They look good and SOUND great! I gotta agree with one of the posters above me that Yoona is looking way hotter than usual! 😀
What’s with Hyoyeon’s dance break? 😦 I prefer the one in the Korean MV.

The lyrics just don’t sound as fluid as the Korean version, the hook and the chorus are less impresisonable too. Some times it sounds like they tried to stuff to many words into a single verse, which is where the awkwardness comes in. After listening to this a few times I suffered no symptoms of having the chorus being stuck in my head like the Korean version did, which is not exactly a good thing from a musical point of view. But I still like it though, just not as much as the original. The MV on the other hand, is amazing, I love the new dark blue marine uniforms, and the girls are just stunning.

I have to say that I’m really impressed with the MV and the whole song in Japanese itself. This confirms for me that I like this version more than the original Korean one and hey, it’s a bit of a trip back to the past (although not that far back) before ‘Oh!’ and ‘Run Devil Run’, which I appreciate. It just goes to show that with a K-Pop entertainment company’s budget, the Japanese can make quality music videos. It makes me feel sorry for all of those J-Pop idols who don’t get the videos that they so deserve.
Anyway, back on track, I really… can’t analyse this. Sad face. I don’t really have any complaints except for Tiffany’s eye makeup. The MV is well-made, with some great camera work. The song itself still retains the original vibe, but it sounds sharper now. Legs. Lots and lots of legs. From around 3:40-3:42, I felt hypnotised by the leg movement.
I’m not sure that I like the Japanese TMYW more than the Japanese ‘Mister’. In terms of the music, I probably like Genie better, but when I factor in suitability in Japan and the music video itself, I’d say that ‘Mister’ wins for me. That said, Yoona is really playing Pokemon with my heart. “Shoot! It was so close too!” Almost there, Yoonie.
