A survey conducted by Arirang TV Showbiz Extra, SNSD was selected by foreigers as the best female singers on. The survey was done by over 3000 viewers from the Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore and America, etc. in over 60 countries.
The results of the survey in the female category:

They never let us vote for the girls even their song are topped the chart many weeks. CH-[V] is a cable channel though.

Judging by those numbers, it was probably a survey where a person could vote more than once. If it is, it isn’t “representational” — you can’t gauge the actual popularity in the population-as-a-whole from it.
yay! congrats to our girls for making the list. and I’m really surprised that the girls beat BoA even if by a bit for the best female singers.
