Finally, we got an official statement from SM about the whole plagiarising issue. According to SM Ent rep and  SM Entertainment owns the copyright of ‘Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)’. It’s expected as SM always play it safe. BUT the surprising thing is, despite being released months earlier, the Uzbekistan version has no legal rights to record the song.

SNSD, who has been surrounded by controversy due to plagiarism claims, have found that it was actually the female singer from Uzbekistan that used the SNSD without permission, and have received a huge shock.

The song had been recently circulating around the the internet titled ‘Tell Me your Wish Original Song’ and caused a stir among netizens. The song ‘Ruqsga Tushgin’ performed by female Uzbekistan singer Dineyra was uploaded on to YouTube in April, sparking rumors that SNSD were plagiarizing music.

However, it was revealed that it was in fact Dineyra, not SNSD, that had used the song without permission.

Universal Music Publishing Group, who own the rights to ‘Tell Me Your Wish’ stated on the 2nd of July that “We do not know who Dineyra from Uzbekistan is, and we have never given her permission to use this song.” and continued to say, “Dineyra’s version is clearly a case of plagiarism.” They also stated, “We will pursue legal action over this blatant plagiarism.” and vented their frustration.

The power of male fans placed SNSD in the 1st place.

According to a survery at a popular music website Monkey3(www.monkey3.co.kr), SNSD’s ‘Tell me your wish’ ranked 1st in numbers of album page view for the 4th week of June, and 52% of those viewers were male.

‘Tell me your wish’ released on the 22nd has gained momentum, and is currently ranked 1st place in real-time charts, total of 6 days.

• This wasn’t really a rumor though, Gee got sudden increase in sales on Hanteo daily chart. Hanteo is like one of the biggest chart in Korea, so it is reliable. Gee was 5th on June 11 and 3rd on June 12. And this was because SM giving away blankets used by the girls at theirs 1st anniversary for 9 lucky fans. The Gee album is needed to enter the contest. • SNSD is getting a new stylist. The new stylist first job for the girls was  Hollywood Bowl (yes, those ugly outfits with black shoulder ruffles that they still wearing recently -_-)  Oh the new stylist was Wonder Girls’ stylist, during their Tell Me era. • The girls were shooting an MV yesterday (June 12) and will continue until Sunday (June 14). Yes, they’ll shoot the MV for three days. Quite unusual, yeah? We know how cheap usually SM is with SNSD MVs. Could this three days of shooting be a sign of a better quality MV? I hope so.
