I don’t write these types of posts often..and I despise sounding like a ball of cheese but for an occasion as special as this, I have to write something, right? 😛
If you have no interest in reading about my thoughts towards SNSDKorean and all that ish, feel free to just skip right on over this! I apologize if this isn’t written in a super fancy manner or whatever, but I thought it’d be best to write it in a tone that suits my personality 🙂
Well…3 years. Wow. I don’t know how many times I sit here each day and think to myself, “Do people actually read this blog? Are we actually somewhat known to the SONE world?” It still hasn’t quite hit me yet. What started off as a simple hobby for a 15 year old is now no longer “just a hobby” but a place that I want to try and preserve forever. Not only preserve it, but…make this site not just an ordinary fan site. I want to make this a home for SONEs to turn to when they’re bored, sad, in need of their Soshi drug, etc. I hope to see it grow and venture out of just writing posts and doing podcasts. I want to take over Asia. Naw jk but really (: Now of course, none of this would have happened had it not been for this amazing team I have backing me up every single second of every single day. It’s one of those bonds that’s… indescribable and unique to SNSDKorean. So thank you guys, each and every one of you. Whether you’re from the past, present, or even the future..you have and will continue to make a huge impact on this site. And to those that stayed up late and helped with subbing, I can’t thank you enough.
And I wouldn’t be here writing this post had it not been for the commenters and readers! You all are the best, your support is what makes our job so much more fun. We appreciate the support you’ve given us whether it be a day, a week, a month, or even three years! Please, if there’s anything you’d like to see happen with the blog or anything that needs to be changed, share your opinion with us. We love constructive criticism!

I think that you should change the color to dark blue instead of pink. I also think that you should get rid of the chatroll because no one ever goes on it. You should also eliminate escape characters for PHP.

Constructive criticism? I’ve got some, from a marketing major’s POV. Snsdkorean’s strongest suits that make it stand out from other kpop sites are originality and responsiveness. Work a bit more on those two things and you’ll be the best, hands down, in my opinion. Snsdkorean as a brand means quality to me. 🙂 Anything from snsdkorean assures me as a reader that it’s written carefully, with love, original, not half-assed. Teehee. You share that trait with Soshified.
More original essays and analysis from you guys please! and tune is into more fanmade videos! and add more snsdkorean opinions on the news. What keeps ppl coming here is that unlike allkpop, soshified, etc, where the articles are all the same (just cross-posted), you guys have fresh takes and make the content into your own. So, more of that please! You’re already really good but originality is your strong suit and if you improve that even more, you’d be golden. Omonatheydidn’t on livejournal is the fastest at posting news. Snsdkorean is slower, but it’s okay, I still read all your posts anyway because you always have a fresh take on what comes out.
Also, responsiveness is another good quality of yours. Just look at the way your header changes so fast! Totally rises to whatever the occasion is (Sooyoung’s bday, anniversaries, etc) and so it helps keep people on their toes. This is another thing that sets you apart from soshified and the other big sites, because they’re not so adept with changes, graphics-wise.
The podcasts are a great idea. I don’t know of another SNSD podcast. So, that’s one more aspect in us enjoying your site.
Keep up the simplicity! Makes everything faster, and it’s easier to process information on our end.
How about snsdkorean videos? Like your podcasts, these videos don’t have to be churned out super often, as long as they’re quality videos worth saving. I don’t know exactly what you should put in these videos; I just know that if you make vids, they would rock! LOL. Well, I’d die for an snsd-related webcast, to be honest. where you show the best snsd vids and clips on youtube, have snsd games, gather panelists and discuss what makes Soshi tick, etc. Haha I know it’s too heavy but hey, I’d love to watch something like that 🙂

Well, it’s certainly been a while since I’ve poked my head in here. Not to worry, I still keep as up to date as one can through an email subscription (look ma, it’s free!).
From the time I started following the girls, SNSDKorean has been my bread and butter in related matters. If there was anything I needed to know, I would just drop by and have a good squizz (read, for anyone who didn’t graduate with me). This blog has changed a lot over the 3 years that have passed, (I’ve only been around for about 2 of them) but I can rest assured that there will always be members in the team who remember the roots of this brilliant site. The new members bring a brand new flavour to the blog that tickles the tastebuds of a newer and more current audience. The old members continue to grow with time and infuse their own style from when they started with a writing form that appeals to many. The great number of readers and people wanting to get involved is a testament to the team’s popularity. You remind me of school, in a way: there’s always a popular guy who gets all the girls, while all the other boys want to be like him. The SNSDKorean team is that guy (if you were a popular girl, other girls would just be jealous and talk behind your back).
I’ll admit that there are things that I miss seeing on this blog. The posts are no longer ones that I’d like to sit down to with a mug of hot chocolate and read. Everything is news, which is great for updating readers on the latest SoShi information, but every once in a while, it’d be nice to see something from the hearts of the writers, like greeentee’s post on TaengSic
JeTi is realfrom around the time of those Taecyeon x Jessica rumours. That was fun to read.In any case, congratulations on making it this far and I hope the site continues to grow into a special place for all SONEs and anyone who has an interest in SNSD. Here’s to the future!

Apparently it gives normal people all the more to think that the internet is nothing but puerile and depressing.
Not only will I care for the duration by which I am typing this comment, but I’ll try my best to steer away from using conventional methods commonly used in dealing with trolls on the internet, namely Michael Henry.
Not too long ago on another post, Michael Henry made some vilifying remarks about this blogsite, while further glorifying Allkpop in his/her own manner simultaneously. Come on guys! I know all of you are smart enough to ignore a troll when you see one, you’re familiar with their habits on the internet, their numbers are by the masses, and we’ve probably (and reluctantly) accepted them as a way of internet life. You can’t get away from ’em, so we might as well ignore them and their flamboyant shenanigans. However, it appears that some of you, no matter what, will either deliberately or unconsciously respond to trolls despite swearing by your own set of principles not to in defence of something you like.
My advice here is (peculiarly enough, has its own beneifts) to be indifferent, while still remaining rational and rhapsodizing about what you like. I find that by remaining in a state of indifference helps us to tackle trolls with their irrational comments. Most of you think that by skipping a comment, whether by a troll or not, would ruin your overall experience because you’re obsessed with being omniscient. Don’t let that deter you! If you’re accustomed to read comments made by anyone anywhere, but is/are made by a troll, indifference assists us in a way that allows us to read the comment despite the unsensible writing without expressing/attributing/conveying your emotional input into responding. I find that Youtube is rife with this unfortunate phenomenon, if you can act normally in your daily life, you can also act normally when around these forsaken and anonymous individuals when you’re (what I just repeated for the umpteenth time). Not to mention, indifference applies to almost anything undesireable or atypical of/contrary to the current situation. Try it.

As for Michael Henry, it appears that you have gotten yourself into some serious shiz’ on here; provoking an entire site merely for the act of accusing this site for plagiarising Allkpop. I can understand your perspective, as I read both this site and Allkpop, any posts regarding the latest news about SNSD which appear on either site seems to have identical information, just executed in a different manner. But then, both sites credit the source of information below the conclusion of their posts, which is where they get their news from, I don’t know if SNSDKorean or Allkpop utilize the same source of information, whether by different people under pseudonyms it’s still stemming alike as the same set of news nonetheless/regardless.
It could be nepotism; you’re seeing Kenneth and RagingXL come up with well-thought and written responses every now and then. You might think the owners of this site is biased about it, but I hardly think about it that way, both of ’em have earned their place on this site as consistent and loyal followers, and we appreciate their invaluable input which they contribute, with fervency and love, to this site. I’ve come to accept the fact that I’ll never be able to achieve their level of devotion which they have towards SNSD. They’re able to express themselves coherently and intelligently and that is what defines their character, which in turn earns them their so-called “coveted” spot. I’m contented with who I am, my character may be different or akin to the general audience of aspiring writers, but at least it gets the job done. You should to, you know.
Michael Henry, If you think you’re special, think special! Even if someone were to fastidiously and hastily write everything you’ve been conjuring up in your mind so far and immediately think your input is rendered superfluous/redundant because you’re halfway through the thought process, that’s negative thinking. Use their comment as your foundation for your thought process and implement new ideas previously never thought of to the current build, that’s what I mean by special and much more. In spite of any accusations about “plagiarising” (yes, this comment reflects on you too) based on how you phrase your sentences, reasoning things out through logically always works, trust me. I know I might be able to do some things and you can’t and vice versa, which brings up the age-old argument “Easier said than done” and all that vicarious shiz, don’t be hard on the fact. By this point, I really need to digress, despite leaving out some important points for the sake of brevity.
Instead of bombarding you with the usual “Go back to Allkpop then” or “Shut up troll” counter arguments which undeniably everybody has done, my response has a far more stark contrast: Continue with the trolling. YES! CONTINUE WITH THE TROLLING, DUN DUN DUN. INCREDULOUS I SAY! Hear me out (first), as I repeat this for the second time.
However, instead of trolling us “normal” people, troll other trolls. Trolls, ironically enough, have the ability to make life on the internet better. Trolls are hungry for unsuspecting prey, they’ll constantly troll on any given topic to supplement their insatiable need for attention and hate. I will applaud you if you were to decide to take the effort upon yourself to make the internet a better place in the following points, seriously. If you were to conspicuously make a fool of yourself on any non-proprietary digital platform wandering the vast space that is the internet, trolls will be sure to respond because you fit the criteria as the “Quintessential” prey of choice. By diverting all of that vindictive attention towards you, you’re diverting all of the hate of trolls towards a single pivot, you, like moths to a flame. By then, it’s just a reciprocating practice, Trolls troll you, you troll the trolls, and everybody else is happily living on with their daily life without the influence of trolls within their vicinity, aware of the fact someone is taking the responsibilty; You, Michael Henry, ameliorating the internet for the rest of us. By then, you can feed on these other trolls and play them for the fools they are, as long as you’re not someone with low self-esteem. Didn’t say you were.

This comment applies to anyone and everyone. By introducing “Contrary to popular belief” tactics, Psychology works a ton of wonders, I like to be able to help in my own little way, and I just did. This community of this blog and SNSD itself (along with other points of interest from global aptitude) have helped to appreciate and see things in a different light (like what Dave said before in a previous post). It would seem appropriate for me to return the favour.

I also wanted to instill in all of you a sense of understanding and acknowledgement, since this post has larger traffic, it helps me to get my point across to a much wider audience. Or would you rather remaing pondering why anybody hasn’t done anything meaningful yet? It’s a question which intrigues me to no end…
Similar articles will sometimes appear across several Korean websites as well, much like how it does with sk, ssf, akp, and fanwonder. Sometimes we’ll source the fanwonder/ssf translated article, and other times we’ll cite reputable users that have provided the information/translation and/or posted whatever media content. Examples include silis7noy2@soompi, petesamchon/SYlovesme@twitter, kissmez@tumblr, etc. it may have been from the same initial korean source that akp used, it may not have been. either way, we will very very very rarely use the akp version of the article as the basis for an article on snsdkorean, and we’ll credit appropriately if we do.
allkpop is good at what they do, but to each their own. regardless of the source, it’s the same news.

I’ve been following this blog for little over a year…. and i’ve really grown to love it. 🙂 snsdkorean made me a SONE. that i can say with all the sincerity in my heart. From the SKfeatures to the regular everyday news posts, I anticipated every new article posted. 😀 It’s only been a couple of months since i’ve been a staffer here, but it’s been awesome.^_^ Getting to know how crazy all the staffers truly are…. =.= hahaha….. and also the ‘lively’ discussions among commenters. 🙂
A big thank you to the rest of the staffers… for keeping this site alive. 🙂 An especially big thank you to the one and only Boss Lady 🙂 I would go on to describe the amount of dedication and perseverance it takes to keep a fansite running for longer than a couple of months…. lest 3 whole years!… AMAJJING!!!…… but words fail me 😛
Also, a big thank you to all the dedicated readers/subscribers of the blog. Wouldn’t be the same without you guys. While we strive for perfection in our work for the blog, thank you for your understanding and sticking with us through thick and thin. (by thin I mean the odd occasion where our posts may be a tad slow, we do have school/jobs to keep up with after all :P)

i forget how i came across this website and how glad i am i came across, and realise myself to check out this website when im working/when im home even late at night. how glad i feel when i manage to recognise each girls and love them and support them. this is the website i come checking for things about the girls, no matter if its update or not. i just love how easy navigation it is, and how different people from different world check this website out and feeling connected to SNSD in a way, at least for me.
im really glad when there was the soshifarm and i actually understand what the jokes were all about! 🙂
i realise there was some negative comments on one of the post recently about not updating enough, but hey, i do not care, i just love coming to this place and for sure each time i will leave this place happily. i love this web so much i find myself smiling and checking back through the past post if i havent got enough yet. its just a web i never fail to check back a few times now.

Seriously, I remember back in the days when this site had the pink layout, and then the green layout with the member of the week on the sidebar, and when you can actually see the CR chat on the side without clicking the link to it, and how random creepers walked in the cr flirting with the guys because they had SNSD icons and what not.
And if you fastforward to SK current state, it’s just amazing to see how far this tiny little website have evolved to something amazing to show the world how amazing snsd is. We now have multiple wonderful staffers who are amazingly fast at posting up articles (I was trying to make a post yesterday only to find out someone have already covered the thing i was going to write on) SERIOUSLYY BLAZINGG FAST STAFFERS!!! I’m amazed D: And then we have the podcast which is very fun to listen and interesting to listen to 😀 AND NOW WE EVEN HAVE OUR OWN SUBBING TEAM!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Like seriously, I went on the website today and LOOK AT ALL THOSE TABS AT THE TOP PAGE!! back then there was only a home, snsd profile, and Q&A.
I been saying “we” a lot because I see this site as a community of people that help each other learn more about SNSD and people actually bond and form friendship through SK. I think I’m writing too much but then again, without SK, I would be so clueless about SNSD and everything else. I actually don’t know what would happen if I have never stumble upon this website.

Thank you for keeping this blog alive despite how busy you guys are with your personal lives and I hope that it will continue to grow.
When I was new to the fandom, I remember checking this site on a daily basis and hanging out in the chatroll. I’ve met a lot of interesting people there and I think it’s a good idea that you’re keeping it. Maybe we’ll have a reunion soon? Haha. I heard about the troll on the blog. I remember when the chatroll used to have trolls popping in and out and how the others would talk some sense into them. There’s really no way to please everyone. I hope that despite the bumps down the road, you guys will still continue to do what you love and enjoy doing it. We may not say it as often as we should but we’ll be here to support you! 🙂
