First of all, I have to apologize to the readers. This bit of news actually took place a few days ago and my recently acquired cold/flu kept me from posting it until now. Gomen ><
Now onward to the part about Soshi being awesome!
Asia Today, a Korean news site, announced the names of individuals from the Republic of Korea who will have a postive impact on how the rest of the world views Korea in 2011. Although the original article boasts a total of 50 delegates, there are actually 58 individuals pictured in the ranking. It’s hard to miss the nine female silhouette’s taking up almost the entire back row 🙂
So Nyuh Shi Dae are the only girl group in this elite bunch and one of two artists being honored (The other is Kolleen Park). Once again, South Korea has acknowledged the Power of 9. With voices like theirs speaking out I only forsee great improvements for the country!

same here! i started dreaming and aiming in going to South Korea just to have a personal encounter with them and experience the way of life and culture in where they live in… I got interested in Korean language and customs since I’ve known them… And now that I’m already working, my goal is to be seconded in Korea 🙂

I love how Koreans are nurturing the new generations, and SNSD is a testament to that. They are the center of korean popculture, and you can’t talk about kpop without talking about SNSD. SNSD is practically a korean brand, lol 🙂
Congrats (again) SNSD! This is quite an impressive accomplishment and goes beyond just music. After seeing all the Girls on countless shows and getting a sense of how they are off the stage, I believe they represent their country very well by showing themselves as positive and honest, hardworking and respectful entertainers (…who also happens to possess loads of talent & charm). As an American citizen, I can’t think of any American entertainers that I would want on a similar list for the U.S., and especially not any pop music artists. I think character counts a lot for this, not just success in your chosen field. For example: no diss to Lady Gaga and her fans but…would she be someone who has a positive impact on how the rest of the world views the U.S.? I highly doubt it (…with the way she promotes herself, I’d sooner move back to Hong Kong).
Keep doing your thing, Girls…i love what u do! SNSD Fighting!

this is a great award for them! i agree because the only reason I’ve come to know about South Korea at all – their food, language, customs and music is because of So Nyuh Shi Dae. Because of them I’m even visiting korea this year. Obvi they’re doing wonders in promoting korea and raising interest and awareness of the country.
