iTunes Japan has selected the Japanese Single “Genie” As “Breakthrough Album of the Year”
Only being released in September, Genie has already been given this award in the Pop Category.
In other iTunes news, Genie and Gee were placed 29th and 30th respectively in the “iTunes top selling songs Chart”
their friends, the adorable KARA, also grabbed the number 14 spot

SNSD Korean 
they’re voted no. 1 breakthrough song of the year on itunes japan, but “Genie” and “Gee” only placed 29th/30th in terms of downloading? what gives? if i can recall both SNSD’s singles have gone on to sell over 100k units and has better sales figure than that of the other korean girl group.
iTunes only count sales from iTunes meaning digital sales not physical.
oh so that make sense…
