On November 16th 2010, sment uploaded a short video of the girls cheering on those who are taking the 2011 CSAT.
For those who are not sure of what an CSAT is, quickly running it down without getting into specifics, it is a test that includes reading, writing and math (these categories can be split into different subjects). The main point is to show colleges how well you can translate your knowledge on paper. Many colleges and universities use the CSAT to gauge and admit students that apply both antionally and internationally. The CSAT is typically taken in Junior or Senior High School.

@RagingXL – Maybe she’s just tired… well I think the girls are all dead tired… I saw the Hoot MV BTS from OBS and Yoona’s face was just depressing, Sunny didn’t also open her mouth the whole interview… and this comeback was so sudden so I guess they were all in a rush, no enough beauty rest for the comeback.
Haha. Even (recently) moody Sunny participated, and yeah, Sooyoung didn’t even do the greeting.

worldwide test? isn’t it only in the us, or am i wrong? i took it 4 years ago, and just took the mcat. they should do one for the mcat. it would’ve helped me out lol.

So do people in Korea take the SAT? I’m really not getting why SAT is so important that SNSD did a cheer for them. Not that I mind it. I took it four years ago, and just took the mcat as well. Isn’t there some sort of Korean standardized test SNSD could cheer for? This just seems really random
its very important, just like here in the states. i don’t know why would you say its not important but SAT or CSAT are considered one of the most important part of a student’s qualification for college. the higher the scores, the good chances of a student to enter a good school. i know in korea, education is so important and they even have cram schools to prepare students for their CSAT. the reason why SNSD cheered for students who are taking the CSAT (and all of SM talents) is because most of them are in the college age. most of SNSD members are attending universities so its only fitting that the Nation’s girl group would support an educational cause as important as this one.

Just so you know, korean people do take this test for when they plan on going to college in America, but it’s not a knowledge test like the post says, it’s a reasoning test, it tests how good you are at taking tests.
i find this weird and cool its weird because are they really that obsessed with school there? it’s cool because it’s awesome that SNSD gets involved with this kind of stuff

uhm… SAT in the US and SAT in South Korea are two different tests. In fact, even the names are not the same. In US, SAT stands for Scholastic Aptitude Test, while in Korea, SAT, or more correctly, CSAT stands for College Scholastic Ability Test. The girls were cheering for students taking CSAT in Korea, not the American SAT. I think you should correct this in the article to avoid confusion for readers.
Yes true that it is the CSAT in Korea but if a korean student wants to go to another country to apply for a university they look at the CSAT, likewise for an american to go to another coutnry they have their SAT, also aussies call it the GAT (General aptitude test)
All are called their own names in their own nation but once you walk out of the border and apply for an overseas university, these tests come into account.

aww Sooyoung! T.T Hope she starts feeling better soon but totally understand if she’s not feeling well. Anyone else notice that her mood turned like this ever since she was injured and gone for a little while to recover (maybe even since the Taeyeon kiss event). Not sure, this is just me speculating.
I can feel it in my blood now that I am going to pwn SATs with youth and vitality!
