Our girls were being interviewed on NHK and the cut has been aired.
Check out the video, with translation under the cut.
The interview session starts at 1:25 and ends at 5:23.
Interviewer : There are kids and people from all ages imitating the Gee dance. What do you think about it?
Taeyeon : People who watched it on programs or fans grasped (the point) of the dance and imitated it. We are very thankful for that.2nd question not translated.
Interviewer : There are 9 members right. Because you are with 9,what is your charm?
Hyoyeon : Energy.
Taeyeon : I think it’s because of our teamwork and that’s why everything goes well. This also applies to choreography and also during the recording of songs.
Seohyun : All the 9 members have different charms and also our personality differs and I think that’s why we are loved by many.
Sooyoung : Don’t start bragging.Interview : What do you think about your Japanese debut?
Tiffany : Before we officially debuted,we had a showcase and a lot of people came, which was very encouraging and touching.
Yoona : We are very thankful. We will do our best even more. We received a lot of strength at the beginning.Interviewer : Congratulations on ranking #4 on the charts.
Jessica : It’s so amazing. We are very thankful to be able to enter the Japanese charts. We will show more different sides of us.Interview : How about the Japanese lyrics?
Sooyoung : The Japanese lyrics fits the Japanese people and it is easy to listen to. And I think it also fits our image well.
Sunny : If we sing the pronunciation softly,it’s easy. It’s easier to show your emotions.
Hyoyeon : I love both the Japanese and Hangul lyrics. I think because the charms of both differs a lot of people can hear the good sides of both songs.Interview : How did you study Japanese?
Yuri : Recently there are a lot of interesting Japanese dramas and Sooyoung recommended a lot of them. While watching them I learn about words that are used oftenly in daily life. I also take lessons. I’m not yet perfect so please watch over me.Interview : What is your favorite Japanese word?
Taeyeon : Osusume (recommendation).
I learned it from Sooyoung.
Sooyoung : When we go to a restaurant,it is very hard to choose from the menu. So we would ask the waiter about the day’s recommendation and then we decide.Interview : What is your goal?
Sunny : In both Korea and Japan, people say they receives energy from us and gathers strength. I’m very happy about that. That’s why in order for more people to become positive,we want to give them more strength. That is our goal.

SNSD on NHK is awesome. But NHK is a network, not a show.
awesome its nice to see that things are going well
i like this concept for the girls and it makes since for their japan debut. they all look like mature women. they all went from cute to sexy. are they gonna do a japanese version of run devi run because that would suit the concept as well.
is it me or the girls just got even more prettier :)?! everyone seems to have gotten darker shades of hair, seohyun in particular look really beautiful…she looks very japanese-like with her white boho-dress!
Wow they look so mature now, with their outfits and make up! ;D
SNSD<3!
Was it by design they all wore grey tights? Stylists showing off mad skills, the girls look soo sophisticated!
yes…
just seing them well, already comforts people.
like me?
or us. to put it generally.
I’ve got a new favourite band now, and it’s SJJD!!! 🙂
Owh yeah!!! Gratz soshi!!! all the best!!!!
Veri cute conversation ^^ love soshi to the max ^^
The girls look so sophisticated! Ah our dorky gals are all grown up now =D
(AND SICA omegoshies. So cutie! )
When people appear on NHK, they tend to be more formal and more serious.
The girls’ tone-downed, quiet appearance is due to NHK’s culture.
good point…nhk is a major broadcasting channel in japan, and serves as the major news information throughout the country, kind of like CNN. but it also may have been a strategy by the girls’ stylist to dress more conservative, yet fashionable to lesson the attention on their legs. either way, i love how they can adapt from cute, to sexy, to stylishly conservative.
i love what they’re wearing and they look stunnning! i was most surprised with taeyeon..so gorgeous. go SNSD!
