On http://www.bugs.co.kr, the poll “Which artist would you like to share an umbrella with” was enforced and over 50% chose Jessica, and the results were overwhelming.
Recently, SNSD has been regaining popularity through ‘Tell Me Your Wish’. Netizens made wishes through the song title that “They want to give Jessica the umbrella and get hit by the rain”.

Finally, we got an official statement from SM about the whole plagiarising issue. According to SM Ent rep and SM Entertainment owns the copyright of ‘Tell Me Your Wish (Genie)’. It’s expected as SM always play it safe. BUT the surprising thing is, despite being released months earlier, the Uzbekistan version has no legal rights to record the song.

SNSD, who has been surrounded by controversy due to plagiarism claims, have found that it was actually the female singer from Uzbekistan that used the SNSD without permission, and have received a huge shock.
The song had been recently circulating around the the internet titled ‘Tell Me your Wish Original Song’ and caused a stir among netizens. The song ‘Ruqsga Tushgin’ performed by female Uzbekistan singer Dineyra was uploaded on to YouTube in April, sparking rumors that SNSD were plagiarizing music.
However, it was revealed that it was in fact Dineyra, not SNSD, that had used the song without permission.
Universal Music Publishing Group, who own the rights to ‘Tell Me Your Wish’ stated on the 2nd of July that “We do not know who Dineyra from Uzbekistan is, and we have never given her permission to use this song.” and continued to say, “Dineyra’s version is clearly a case of plagiarism.” They also stated, “We will pursue legal action over this blatant plagiarism.” and vented their frustration.

SNSD’s brand new song ‘Tell Me Your Wish’ is showing faster sales than ‘Gee’ which stormed the music industry in the first half of the year.
According to offline sales reporter Hanteo-Chart, since its release on June 29th the sales of ‘Tell Me Your Wish’ at offline stores surpassed 24 000 copies in just two days. These sales are greater and faster than SNSD’s biggest hit (to date) ‘Gee’ which sold 23 000 copies in its first week. The term sweeping the market seems most appropriate in this case. Hanteo-Chart’s sales reports focus mostly on stores that are registered with them, so the true number of sales are predicted to be much higher.
