The Kpop craze is setting off like wildfire! As if appearing on LA Times and TaeTiSeo’s Twinkle topping the charts wasn’t impressive enough, Girls’ Generation was recently mentioned in a featured article on the Grammy Awards’ Official Website. *cheers*
Following fellow member Yuri’s sexy selcas, our Ice Princess has uploaded her own set of aegyo-filled selcas. That’s funny. Ice Princess + Aegyo -> Oxymoron. Well, I guess the ice really did melt.
Anyway, check them out below!

Following their appearance on the LA Times Newspaper, the girls have once again proved the extensiveness of their popularity in the US. On May 21st at 6:00 pm PST, they will be performing at a concert alongside other groups including Super Junior and Wonder Girls. It will be held at the Google headquarters in San Jose, California.
Looks like another one of our maknae Seohyun’s wishes came true! On May 3rd, it was revealed that she has been appointed as the Goodwill Ambassador for the UN 2012 Yeosu Expo. This expo will be held on May 12, 2012, with its purpose of raising awareness about the harm done to the oceans and coasts as a result of pollution and global warming as well as the UN’s efforts in protecting it. Seohyun was again able to meet Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at the appointment ceremony. With him being her role model, and recently revealed, ideal type, she was more than thrilled. Congrats to the maknae!

Hey SK readers! I’m Grace and I’m a new staffer here. Nice to meet you all!
Girls’ Generation was acknowledged for their overwhelming success in the LA Times newspaper! The newspaper article highlights the ever-growing popularity of our girls in both Korea and the US, and provides an analysis of their song “The Boys”. As well, it shares a hilarious story of Tiffany’s reaction upon hearing the news that they would perform at the Late Show. The writer–shall I say–foretells the crossover of Kpop into American culture. You can find the article here.
Well, all I can say in response is,
Jigeumeun So Nyuh Shi Dae, Apeurodo So Nyuh Shi Dae, Yongwonhi So Nyuh Shi Dae!
Also announced, TaeTiSeo will perform “Twinkle” on “M! Countdown” on May 3rd. They will also be performing this song on KBS2TV’s “Hello” on May 6th and KBS “Open Concert” on May 10th. Looks like TaeTiSeo will be double busy promoting this song along with all the upcoming group work!
Tickets are to go on sale April 5th, at 5PM PDT through ticketmaster.com and powerhouselive.net. Tickets will be priced from $50 to $300 for VIP tickets. If you go for the $300 tickets, they include a chance to see a private rehearsal at 3PM, before the show. Artists will include pretty much the same line up as SMTown Live in NYC, which include, BoA, Kangta, TVXQ, Super Junior, SNSD, SHINee, f(x), as well as hoobae’s EXO-K and EXO-M. This should be another explosive night of Kpop at its finest!
