Yoona’s Drama to Be Aired in Japan

Yoona, a member of idol girl band Girls’ Generation, will be first introduced to Japan as an actress rather than as a singer. The KBS1 drama “You Are My Destiny,” in which she appeared, will be aired on the Japanese cable channel Eisei Gekijo from May 19. She won the Best New Actress award for the role she played in the drama at the 2008 KBS Drama Awards.

In promoting the family drama, to be broadcast in Hi-Vision, the Japanese channel said that it topped the TV ratings chart for 14 consecutive weeks, with the last episode recording 40.3 percent viewer ratings. Yoona made her acting debut through the drama, it added.

The actress and singer will appear in the new MBC drama “Cinderella Man” playing opposite heartthrob Kwon Sang-woo, which will be aired on Wednesdays and Thursdays from April 15.

[Star’s Self-Camera 1]. ‘Nine Sisters’ SNSD goes to Thailand for an outing.

The sun shines down upon the sea. In March, SNSD visited Pattaya, Thailand for ‘’Pattaya Music Festival 2009′ and later visited Bangkok.

Ever wondered what SNSD’s short travel is like? The camera has captured girls drinking fresh coconut juice, while they were riding on an elephant. Girls would hold hands and kept whispering each other about something, smiling about it.

They enjoyed playing on the beach, splashing water at each other. While SNSD stayed at Bangkok for 3 days and 2 nights, they carried around digital cameras, taking pictures of their activities. Continue reading →

SNSD After Finishing Gee Promotions, “This is How We Spend Our Time”

For the whole first quarter of the year, the 9-member girl group SNSD took charge of the pop music world. As of April 7th, it has been already 9 days since they finished their Gee mini album activities.

Their song ‘Gee’, which they introduced at the beginning of January, has been number 1 on many on/offline charts even until the end of last month. SNSD also set a record by being on number 1 spot for 9 straight weeks on KBS 2TV’s Music Bank. However, even after finishing with the Gee mini album, there is still a lot of interest on the SNSD members.

For MBC’s Wed-Thurs drama, Shin Seunghoon will participate in Cinderella Man’s OST, which Yoona felt very honored for.

SNSD’s Yoona has a lead role in ‘Cinderella Man’ said, “Even before my debut, Shin Seunghoon sunbaenim was the singer I respected the most. The fact that I’ll be acting in a drama that also has Shin Seunghoon sunbaenim’s song is touching and is a honor.”

Also, “Hearing Shin Seunghoon’s sunbaenim’s song, I Believe, which was in the movie, My Sassy Girl, I thought to myself, ‘Will I ever get a chance to act with Shin Seunghoon sunbaenim’s song playing in the background?’ I’m very glad that through Cinderella Man, that whim became a reality.” Continue reading →
