SMTown to release a 2011 winter album!

SMTown will be releasing a new winter album titled ‘The Warmest Gift‘ on the 13th of December! This will be SMTown’s 8th Winter Vacation album and the first since ‘Only Love‘ in 2007.

‘The Warmest Gift’ will feature KangTa, BoA, TVXQ, TRAX, Dana&Sunday (The Grace), Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x), Jang Ri In, J-min as well as other SM artists.

There will be 11 tracks in total with 4 of them being remakes of famous carols such as “Sleigh Ride” and “Last Christmas”.

Girls’ Generation/ SNSD will have a solo song in the album titled ‘Diamond‘ which is said to be a winter-themed, ‘familiar sounding & luxuriously styled pop song’.

‘Shoujo Jidai’ rocks the 2011 FNS Music Festival

On the 7th of December, the ‘2011 FNS Music Festival‘ was broadcasted by Japan’s Fuji TV. Girls’ Generation/ Shoujo Jidai were one of the chosen acts at the large-scale festival where they put on another perfect performance of their Japanese hit single, ‘MR TAXI‘.

 

In addition to the Kōhaku Uta Gassen, the girls have also been invited yet again to attend Music Station’s year end finale, ‘Music Station Super Live 2011‘. The event will take place on the 23rd of December at ‘Chiba’s Makuhari Messe event hall’.

With all these invitations to Japan’s big end-year music festivals, the girls have truly taken the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’ by storm.

With Sunny and Hyoyeon part of the regular cast on ‘Invincible Youth Season 2’, we can look forward to new soshi-filled episodes every week. 🙂 

Tiffany and Yoona also made brief appearances on their SM Town sunbae, Leeteuk’s cut of ‘We Got Married’. 

Lastly, the segment featuring SNSD from the K-pop cover dance festival has also been subbed.

SNSD on Sketchbook!

Update: English subs added

The girls of SNSD were guests on the December 2nd episode of KBS 2TV’s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook“. In addition to bringing “The Boys” out, the girls also performed the Korean version of “Mr Taxi” and “Snowy Wish” from their ‘Hoot!’ mini album. During the interview segment of the show, Jessica also clarified a misunderstanding that arose from a fancam taken of her at the airport. Unfortunately Yoona was unable to attend due to scheduling conflicts (most probably due to her drama filming). Check the cuts out below!

2011 MelOn Music Awards

The ‘2011 MelOn Music Awards‘ was held last night, 24th November, in the Seoul Olympic Stadium. SNSD has previously had tremendous success at these awards, taking home the ‘Artist of the Year Daesang’ (top award) in 2009 & 2010, the ‘Song of the year Digital Daesang’ in 2009 amongst a whole string of other awards. Whilst we all knew it was unlikely for SNSD to take home any awards this year due to their extremely late comeback, the girls still took home the ‘Global Artist Award‘ for having the greatest popularity in Korea and Overseas!

Unfortunately, SNSD were not able receive their award in person due to scheduling conflicts and thus their acceptance speech was shown through a pre-recorded video.
