  2. Honestly I was scared as @#$% when they were about to perform! This is The Late Show we’re talking about!! But moments into their performance I completely forgot about that fear and was blown away by their performance!:D

  4. I’ve lived in California my entire live and honestly I scared about them performing The Boys on US television; I was really paranoid as to how it would be perceived. I’m actually really happy that they performed this remix as I feel it is a lot more fitting for US audiences and I think they did a wonderful job. You could really tell from their expressions (much more than in the average performance) that they were really anxious and excited about this performance, and I’m really enthralled that it went so well. I really hope that it is well received.

  5. I forget how cramped for space the Late show is for performers.

Solid performance from the girls as per usual, even with the small space.

    1. You know how airports had to widen and lengthen their runways to accommodate the latest Super Jumbo jets? It seems that the Late Show stage is too small (in more ways than one) for the awesomeness that is SNSD.

  6. Ya for the music acts it’s always just “perform the song, then the show is done”. I believe they’ll actually have an interview spot on Kelly tomorrow?

    1. From what i heard the band was playing in the backround which made it that way and during the dance parts i think that it’s from the Snoop Dogg Remix

  13. Loved the performance and slight change of dance routine, but not happy with the remix at all. Seemed very awkward watching them dance to this remix.

By annabananaz on 2012/02/01 at 10:09 pm

    1. I don’t agree there; I thought the remix went really well with the new dance.

  19. What an awesome performance, the space is a little cramped but it could not contain SNSD’s overflowing charisma on this stage. This remix was excellent (I wonder why it wasn’t put on the special album), and the new dance breaks were what made this performance really stand out, as usual the girls were extremely sharp and perfectly in sync creating this beautifully fluid visual, not to mention great live vocals. This performance in many ways will go down as one of the most memorable live performances for me alongside MTV VMA Japan and Kouhaku Uta Gassen, I feel soooo proud being a SONE in America and seeing this live on my TV!

    By RageX009 (@HeartofThe9) on 2012/02/02 at 3:30 am

  20. I’m so happy for them! Go girls!
But poor Sunny, she didn’t have enough space for the dance! xD And the remix sucked.

By Gvk Streetspeedz on 2012/02/02 at 10:43 pm

  27. honestly i was kinda nervous for them.. but as usual our girls pull it off very well..

just a question for those living in the US.. are clubs the only way to promoting your music??.
i saw a clip of the girls in the club.. they look uncomfortable except for hyo and sooyoung is trying to make the best out of it. I was just wondering im sure there are other ways to get you music out other than going to the clubs.. the girls look uncomfortable.. and when they are uncomfortable i feel uncomfortable. haha

    By 2ndlight on 2012/02/02 at 11:41 pm

    1. I’m not from US but Canada, so some think it’s the same (will i don’t but..) the clubs are running music that’s go to dance and that’s playing on young radio chanel, so I think the girls were only there to have fun, it’s not every day that they are going to NYC, and it’s true that the ambiance is unique there. Probably incomfortable because they are not perfect in english and a man was filming them there…

    2. The event you’re talking about was at a lounge at 141 Christie, in Lower Manhattan. The reason they were there was because it was one of the DJ’s birthday associated with Interscope or Teddy Riley.

They were not there for fun, it was basically like work. They were there for 1 song then left, according to a number of blogs and reports you can find on the Internet. There’s also a lot of pictures and videos you can find as well. It just wasn’t organized well by the promoter (who I’m assuming they won’t use again)

As for whether it’s common, it’s very common for celebrities to do public appearances. For example, Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton get paid $10,000 for showing up at a club for a few minutes.

Also the girls were there between 10-11PM and clubs and lounges in Manhattan don’t fill up until midnight and go till 2-4AM. That’s why everyone is so apathetic… it’s early and no one is even drunk yet.

Yes it was pretty ghetto, TBH much of American nightlife is ghetto. Keep in mind that music in the US is Sex Drugs and Rock and Roll so there’s all kinds of nonsense and much of it is not glamorous.

If you’re worried the girls would have to do a lot of stuff like this to be famous, probably not unless SM wants to make money from them doing appearances at clubs. But they will be in a lot of new and uncomfortable situations if they want to be in the US. For example when Sooyoung, Tae and Yoona went shopping some creepy paparazzi were stalking them and the girls had to cut their shopping trip short.

  28. I am from New York and have been following these amazing girls for 3 years. This is a dream come true for me to see them finally on the big stage- American Television. http://goo.gl/xMT6n From first moment I ever saw them, I knew that one day they would be dominating not only the far east but the entire world. This is the beginning of that domination…. Sone forever. love you forever SNSD.)) Best group in world by far…..

  30. It is wonderful to see these Asian singers became so popular.. They are TOP GUN. I love them all. And for those who would say otherwise. The Girls Generation has sold more albums in the world, than any american artists. Go ahead and check the stats. Bottom line, there are more people on earth today who are their fans than compared to any western artists.
