Recently on ‘Saturday Night Live (Japan)‘, the male cast (yes, MALE) parodied SNSD‘s ‘Mr Taxi‘. While my jaw still aches from laughing, lets just say that there was more than one reason that brought tears to my eyes.
So if you have a thing for exposed bulging bellies and short skirts…. this video is just for you. -__-“‘
Hilarity and visual terror aside, the fact that SNSD’s song was parodied on a TV program only further proves their ever growing popularity in Japan. 🙂

one word… “GROSS”! hahahaha!
Surammm hhahahaaa
infinite challenge jp version =x
3 words i was saying throughout the video. “what the f*ck…”
Haha! That was funny, yet disturbing.
oh yeah! XD
SNSD, fighting! ^^
Nat, I believe you forgot to put the AHHHHH!!!!!! In front of MY EYES!!!!!
I had to wash my eyes out with laundry detergent after watching that 😛
LOL I actually was gonna put “AHHH MY EYES!” but decided against it at the last moment 😛
totally epic, good one LOL
Well, I can say that imitation is a form of flattery! 🙂
i will never see Mr.Taxi the same again. Every time i see the real mv i will see the men and scream >.<
lol totally SNL style right there!
Yeah, that was my exact reaction on viewing the parodied Mr. Taxi song/dance sequence 😀 !!!
In all honesty, overlooking the hairy, fat, bald (who do they think is follicularly-challenged in SNSD ?), manly-looking appearance of the dancers, it was a pretty good rendition of the titular song piece ;).
I died because of laughing!!!!
GOSH!!!! hilarous I say!
how can they do this!
stillll
double thumbs up!
While this video may be a fair bit traumatizing and evoke the dreaded memories of moments where we cringed at the sight of burly, grotesque men parodying our favourite and iconic girl-group dances, they ultimately remind us of how far SNSD or even any K-Pop group in general, have come in terms of popularity and influence for people from all walks of life to pay homage to them, either by (spontaneously) singing or dancing to the respective songs (albeit in the most unexpected or nightmarish fashion sometimes).
Those boy-bands have it easy, remember the rendition of ‘Sorry Sorry’ done by SNSD in ’09 for Super Junior?
All we get is this… ‘monstrosity’.
@ Terrez
Yeah, I remember that ‘Sorry, Sorry’ performance by the girls; I kind of liked it though 🙂 !
It was pretty good, if I do say so myself ;).
Do you also remember the ‘Sorry. Sorry / Smooth Criminal’ dance battle sequence in 2009 ? I thought that was pretty cool too :D.

(For the ‘Smooth Criminal’ portion of the dance battle, please click on the subsequent Youtube video).
ah I loved their performances in those videos. I’ve seen those videos repeatedly ahaha ^^ I feel that I will get a new spirit or energy after watching them haha. star dance battle is my favourite because their style looks so cool and sooyoung eonnie was so adorable 😀 thanks for sharing!!!
lol. that was terribly amazing.
He is Koji Imada. He like seohyun.
that spoiled my eyes yet funny
LoL it was so funny
“Mr.” Taxi just made a bad turn and took on a whole new meaning…however, this is disturbingly funny
i don’t think you all should think of it horribly tbh. for the record, imada koji (the lead guy) is a HUGE fan of SNSD, and he went to the concert 3 times. he also said he likes seohyun which is why he’s seen wearing the same cap seohyun wore for “mr. taxi.” and the guy on the tv prompter behind the girls (w/ the moustache) is actor eiji wentz who also went to see SNSD’s concert. imada parodied “mr. taxi” is honor of SNSD not to disgrace or insult them, lol!
I agree. For the record, i totally lol’d when i saw the clip and didn’t think anything negative of it at all. My comments above were meant to be humorous =)
why is it private?!?! D:
i can’t watch the video ,it’s private 😦
Oh my lovely
