After much teasing, here it is… SHINee‘s Japanese debut PV (Promotional Video), Replay, featuring Yoona!

I know you gonna replay this video again and again, because that’s what I’m doing right now too… to catch the glimpses of the beautiful goddess that is Im Yoona, of course. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love SHINee and ‘Replay’ (the original Korean title: ‘Yoona Noona Neomu Yeppeo’) is still my #1 SHINee’s song… but dude, I think Yoona is sooo gorgeous here in this PV, even more so than usual. I could watch her all day. ♥_♥
Or rather, it’s that certain perfect combination of goddess Im Yoona + pretty boys + awesome choreography + really nice song; you could never go wrong with these!

Haha it took me awhile to realize Yoona’s charm too. I remember how three years ago, I was wondering why people adore Yoona and why she appears on so many videos… I thought she’s pretty, but very much basic… but look at me now :p

Indeed, as much as I love SHINee, i would download this video just so I can watch Yoona. I think having Yoona featured in SHINee’s PV was a really good idea in terms of effective advertisement. I mean, both debuted very recently, and while Soshi has had a bit more time to get famous in Japan, using Yoona gives Japanese fans a “reason” to watch SHINee’s PV.
And I find it funny how Yoona gets more screentime than all the SHINee members except Taemin. (I can understand why Taemin gets so much screentime though. He’s super popular in Japan.) As much as I like looking at Yoona, i think they should’ve allowed more single-shots of the SHINee members. Cause honestly, the only thing that stayed in my mind after watching the PV was the gorgeous Yoona and Taemin’s winged shoes/ dancing.
But whatever. I’m sure SHINee will be super popular in Japan. Possibly even posing as a threat to our notorious award-winning nine angels?
Finally a new MV worthy of Replay! No pun intended, but this 1080p goodness really did justice to this great song and showed off the wonderful choreography by Rino Nakasone and our pretty angel Yoona. Looks like SM even threw in their flow-motion camera technology to top it off. It just made my day, I spazz Yoona all the time, and Replay is one of my all time favorites (iTunes play count at 764). I own enough SHINee albums to consider myself a Shawol and this is as good as it gets for anyone who likes both SHINee and SNSd, perfect combination!
Minor complaints, but why does Jonghyung get the sh*ttiest job in this MV?? Onew sculptor, Taemin dancer, Minho basketball player, Key fashion designer, Jonghyung CLEANING BOY! Again, being a loyalist to original versions, this Japanese version of Replay does not sound as smooth as the Korean, but it’s still good, in fact, very good. They did a good job converting the song to Japanese without losing the original laid back cheerful R&B feel.
Just noticed that the line at 1:33 use to belong to Onew, but for this Japanese version they let Taemin sing it, interesting.

And lol at Key’s “ooooh check out the new dress I designed just for you”!! It’s actually from H&M’s high fashion collab ‘Lanvin for H&M’ from November last year, so, you know, not exactly one-of-a-kind. But Yoona’s the first one I’ve seen to look good in it, though! ^__^
