Awesome, another Podcast, no need to apologize for being slow, great work just to keep this going even with the squeeze in staff and time. You guys deserves a lot of credit. I just want to comment on a couple of things.
About Mr Taxi, I wish there was more discussion about the actual song itself instead of the PV, since we’ve all heard the song in full (though we should never have) and the PV was only a preview. A lot of people are saying the girls sound better vocally on Mr Taxi and there have been a lot of praise thrown around for how good production and how well-structured the song is. Unfortunately it was not discussed and the attention was focused on the dance. With regards to the dance, I don’t think it looks Hootish, yes it’s got a lot of hand/wrist/arm movements, and they look “similar” at first glance, but the intricate details are decidedly different, and I’d argue that almost every SNSD dance has accentuated and catchy arm movements. I think we’ll get a clearer idea once the full PV comes out and after they perform it live.
With regards to the Angel Price concert incident. I know the Sunshiners will curse me for saying this, but I think people are giving Sunny too much credit for being a hero. I literally broke the replay button on the fancams that captured the moment, Sunny really didn’t (actually couldn’t) do much except follow Taeyeon, and honestly the real hero was the MC Oh Jungtae who was the first person to physically get to Taeyeon and break up the guys’ grip on her wrist. Sunny deserves credit for immediately recognizing the situation and stopped performing (versus being stunned like Hyoyeon or being totally unaware like the other girls), as well as being there for Taeyeon, hooray for roomie love. But I just thought her “heroism” was a little blown out of proportion, and to see the Sunshiners celebrating and all… my reaction was like “this is no occasion to be celebrating anything”. Sorry if I sound like a hater, I’m really not, I like Sunny.
Kenneth said:
@ RagingXL
The truth hurts, but yeah, you’re right, Sunny being “Sunny size” (i.e. the smallest physically) could only try her level best to hang-on to Taeyeon to prevent the intruder from “running off” with his “prize catch” 😉 ! Only Oh Jungtae had the size advantage to break the guy’s grip on Taeyeon’s wrist, thus preventing further “trauma” to her :). It was a good thing the security “woke up” then and took matters in hand, if not, ………. :(. Nonetheless, Kudos to the 2 “saviours” of our favourite Taengoo and may such an incident never happen again !!!

A soldier once said: It’s best to remain silent and remain a fool than to speak up and remove all doubt.
I would taking a huge risk by compromising that rule because I’m that soldier.
Should I write a response backed with reason(s) to you?
I’m predicting you’ll say something along the lines of “By all means, go ahead.”
dreadtech said:
@RagingXL
so what are you proposing her do? take him down wrestling style? claw at his eyes? really. there is not much she could’ve done and she handled it the best possible way, by dragging teayeon down and slowing them, she reached her hand out and tried to grab taeyeon. Obviously the MC had rights to take him down but are you insinuating that Sunny had the capacity to do that? absolutely not. She deserves a lot more credit than the people who say she doesn’t, cause she did more than freeze and she tried to respond as best she could. that is where credit is due. I don’t think anyone said she single handedly stopped it, cause that would be stupid, but she reacted, and that deserves more credit than anyone else other than the MC.
RagingXL said:
I think you just proved my point, Sunny had no capacity to be doing any kind of heroic acts. No doubt she deserves a lot of credit, A LOT, for being the only one who reacted and did all that she *could* for Taeyeon, but this?
http://soshified.com/pages/articles/_/news/041811-supergirl-sunny-receives-praises-for-heroism-r1632
I thought that was a slight overkill, it’s not a joyous occasion. They need real bodyguards, you can’t rely on the MC or Sunny to be doing any kind of stuff like this again. Of course everyone has their opinion on this, and I respect them. But I felt really upset about it and was in no mood to be reading about anybody’s heroism (not even the MC’s), nobody’s heroic act was required if security didn’t totally choke.

@Kenneth
“Sunny size;” height isn’t the factor, it’s more that she just wasn’t doing her damndest to fight what was going on. Be careful – I’m not saying she didn’t care (and neither is RagingXL, I think, but more on that later). For that matter, Taeyeon didn’t resist to her utmost either (onstage) – the shock factor mostly, I expect, and maybe an (unconscious) expectation that it wouldn’t get out of hand, or perhaps that it would only get worse if she did.
But as for Sunny, I think there’s a lot that went into her behavior, she knew she was wearing heeled boots, probably saw the guys in the wings that eventually took to action, and other considerations. But like everyone’s been saying, Sunny did display a commendably sharp mind, good instincts and reaction time, and that she can be depended upon.
Anyway, RagingXL already defended himself as I put this together, so…
As for the question of Sunny “hero worship,” it’s just kind of the pitfall considering the community. Yes, it would be ultimately dangerous to take seriously claims such as the Girls being each others’ best bodyguards, but, all parties concerned have to appreciate that a fan’s exuberance doesn’t always represent a fan’s reasoning. By this I don’t mean to criticize your (RagingXL’s) position, nor that you undertook to express it, it’s more my excuse for not being more forward about my own similar concerns. I’m unsure of how to bridge that gap, and talk about it in a way that will get the point across, the seriousness of the issue, without… being ignored, I guess.
My hope is that through their own personal experience, people out there will learn better of it all.
Kenneth said:
@ Mongrolian
Totally agree with your comments here ;). When I mentioned “Sunny size”, I actually meant that she did the best she could at that point in time, what with the “shock” factor of an unwanted intruder on stage, having a mike in one hand, seeing your best friend and roomie dragged off-stage, the concert atmosphere, wearing heels and so forth 😀 . Anyway, the bottom line is that such an incident should not be allowed to happen again, if possible and that Taeyeon and the other 8 ladies will learn to “trust” their fans again soon ;). There are many normal SONES who would still want to meet and interact with them, without causing them harm in any way or form :D.

regardless of whether or not we’re over-crediting sunny or not, both her and Oh Jungtae deserve credit for helping Taeyeon. Sunny being there despite not being able to do much is obviously much better than if taeyeon was dragged off on her own with nobody going after them right? Hopefully nothing like this happens again with stepped up security.
and loltags, wiwfts.. i need to get on that…

RagingXL said:
Totally agree with everything you said. My biggest concern now is Taeyeon’s psyche. Future fanmeet/fansign events in public will just re-kinder memories of this incident for her and she’ll probably be even more reserved (she was already one of the more reserved girls in public) about any kind of interactions with fans or even handshakes with fans. It was forgiving of her not to press charges, but ultimately it’s just a lose-lose situation for SNSD and SONEs. Hopefully everyone involved (SM management, concert organizers, security personnel, event staff, etc) learn something from this so that the girls will feel safe performing in public.
Mongrolian said:
“But at the end of it, there’s still a young woman who won’t quite be the same young woman she was the day before. ”
-Auratus, from the post on the incident.
The sentence that states the case most directly. The feeling of safety, if lost, how does one restore it? I hope and pray and all the rest that Taeyeon and the others can successfully fight the fear, because I know how terrible is that specter.
All of them. Theirs is a shared experience, after all, and they’re all up on stage, and subject to their own imaginations.
And I’m actually surprised that the going opinion is that the guy… had much of a life to return to, as if this will ruin him. I don’t know if his mental state was ever reliably confirmed, and sure, things were probably better for him before this than they are now, but to have reached the point he did, I mean, something wasn’t right.
It’s one thing to have to deal with the undesirables in the world; it’s another thing to have to be an undesirable.

Listening to this as I do work, it’s an immense help in staying focused.
Thanks for getting the podcast out guys, better late than never.
God knows I’m going to start sounding arrogant and narcissistic if I write this comment.
As for the topics discussed, I wouldn’t really dwell too much on what they have say, I’m listening merely for the fun of hearing the podcast group express their candid opinions on recent events regarding SNSD’s involvement. The reason I even got into K-Pop was because of the catchy songs suiting my musical preferences, unaware of how this phenomenon would have an adverse impact on me. I’ve finally found something worth doing and mentioning to my peers: Literacy and SNSD.
Right now, I’m making steady progress in overcoming my turgid tendencies and obscuration of conveying my points across when it comes to writing. Listening to older and more mature individuals discuss amongst themselves gives me invaluable insight on how the “Business” of maintaining a blog to report on the happenings going on within the K-Pop industry as well as a few pointers on introspection just by the way they communicate with each other*. The fact that I’m not paying an undivided amount of attention to what the podcast group has to say attributes to easier learning and acquisition of knowledge; a “relaxing way to learn,” I might add.
In other news, great job on the podcast guys.

I find it funny, this is a podcast post. We’re supposed to give our support to the people who dedicated their time and hard work into producing it for our entertainment, and perhaps some constructive criticism.
All of sudden, we’re talking about the Taeyeon incident, who truly deserves the most recognition and praise in saving her. Whether the incident would serve as a recurring reminder as abject hell and anxiety for the ladies, especially Taeyeon.
I understand that it was brought up by people to express their deepest concern for Taeyeon psyche after the incident, but I thought we settled that part already in previous posts, now we just have to worry for her psychological recovery.
We went straight back to square one just to finish up some points that were left out, addressing newer ones as they come out, such as the “Sunny’s heroism was blown out of proportion” part and how it would truly affect the ladies when it comes to social interaction like fan meets. I understand Taeyeon’s current position because I’ve been in her shoes before, and worked my way up to full recovery.
It’s probably just me, but we’re talking about something we love and cherish here, and we should improve on and support that as fans, not focus entirely on what caused the dangers that brought harm to the ladies. No doubt that the event would serve as a wake up call for SME to strengthen their security systems to protect them, but I think we’re going a little bit too far just because a piece of news prompted us to act all riled up about it in an identical fashion as how “important” it was to glorify Sunny’s actions.
My philosophy is this: Prevention is better than cure. It’s obvious that we were unable to prevent the unexpected, so it serves as a lesson to all of us on how the “Prevention” can be made stronger to make sure it doesn’t happen again (security.) However, the damage has already been done, so we try our best to heal the damage as the prevention factor is taking effect (SME issuing orders to security.) However, we’re doing quite the opposite, we’re talking about how the prevention should have done this or that, but it’s already happened and we couldn’t have done anything else or more to help Taeyeon. It’s an inherently subjective thing to feel concerned or affected, but why focus all of our efforts on that when we can help her recover instead? We shouldn’t even be feeling like that (All sad and angry) in the first place when talking about something bad because all of us are well aware of the methods to ensure a smooth recovery for Taeyeon, so as I stress this for the last time, “why not focus on the cure instead of talking about the prevention when the damage has already been done?”
Sorry if the text sounds hackneyed, but I honestly think all this tomfoolery about who did what or blah blah blah is stupid.
Segues? Not quite.
Mongrolian said:
*sniff* I don’t think it’s stupid.
Terrez said:
Mongrolian said:
Oh what the hell, why not? Because… I can’t help myself?
1. Words of support for the site folk were offered. (except by me – yahoo, site folks! you do good!)
2. The incident came up in the podcast – hence fair game? And besides, who says when a thing is “settled?”
3. “now we just have to worry for her psychological recovery,” is this not expressed in expressing concern for how it will affect the Girls? And talking about the failed prevention after the fact, is it not informed by a desire to improve the prevention moving into the future? I know, Captain Hindsight and all, but I don’t think we’ve reached that level here.
4. What is the cure?
5. Strictly speaking, anything we talk about here is academic, so not only “could” we do no more to help, we “can” not do anything to help, except to the extent to which distant good intentions can go. I mean, other than in not making similar attempts ourselves, we have no hand in the prevention, and even if we had a direct hand in the cure, it wouldn’t be through posting a comment here. So maybe people feel a little helpless about the whole thing, and express their feelings in a familiar way, writing on a forum they like to use (thanks again site folk!).
6. “I think all this bullshit you’re talking about is stupid.” Pretty heavy-handed.
Terrez said:
@Mongrolian
I’ve pretty much gone from being apprehensive to love reading constructive criticism to see where I went wrong by you.
Thanks for the help! =D
You are now free to think that I’m trolling you… haha. No, actually, in all seriousness.
Don’t take my word for it whenever I write a… for a lack of better word, immature comment like this. I wasn’t being dead serious at all. I just blurted out everything in a raw state from my mind when I was… as some people coin it: “High.” I wanted to inject some sort of happiness and positivity amidst a sea of negative emotions, but failed to recognize that my turgid and long-winded comments obstruct me from my goal, and people are unable to locate that one honest meaning among a thousand misleading ones as a result. “It’s like finding a needle in a haystack,” that’s a suitable analogy.
To be honest, I don’t blame you, RagingXL or Kenneth for misunderstanding me at all. It’s not your fault for thinking that I have some sort of mental disorder when it comes to writing. I was well aware that my comments were sure to stir up a ton of pointless disputes over who is more intelligent and academic in their remarks, yet I still insisted on clicking that ‘Post Comment’ button when there were so many inconsistencies, contradictions and alienation in my comments.
All in all, let’s not make a fuss about it should you read this. I just thought that some people were wasting their time complaining too much over “spilt milk” and not taking the entire initiative to clean up that milk. That was part of my ambiguous message. I assuming you don’t want to hear the rest, so… I’ll leave it here (for now.)
Kenneth said:
Hey, no worries on that, Terrez 😉 . I know that you’re not being “serious” when you comment on a topic like that 😀 ! After all, who is 🙂 😀 😀 !!!! Cheers, man !
Mongrolian said:
I suppose it wouldn’t hurt for me to include what I don’t take issue with in one of your “meat” comments. I didn’t have an issue with your intent, your “needle in a haystack.” It’s just that, yeah, along the way, there were things you said (in this case) that I felt needed comment, mostly the “stupid” line.
And of me, one might easily comment that I don’t see the forest for the trees here, but really, I care about what you say and how you say it. Like, I don’t really know you, but with your gifts, I just think you should be more careful.
Like, cheers.

Thank you very much for being so understanding. Gauging both of our characters well, seeing where we went wrong and working on improving that. So yeah, how I express myself seems to the primary cause of all of this, so I’ll see where I can go to mitigate the downsides. As for you, well, I don’t know. Just keep doing what you do best but don’t be too hard on someone should they have something else in mind to say and all that good shiz’. Cheers.

I can tell that you’re a very caring person which is normally a trait of mothers. Since you’re male, do I think of you as a “Momma’s Boy” because it’s a derogatory term? Absolutely not. It means that you’re able bring yourself up or down to anybody’s emotional level and can relate to/console them in a very understanding and calm manner, something which some people obviously lack and not at an ‘exemplary’ or high level.
Continue on this great behavioural characteristic of yours, and I’m sure many people, including Tiffany, would love you and appreciate your kindness. Au Revoir! =D
