I really, really, REALLY like this post! I’ve never really been a big fan of Taeyeon’s (don’t get me wrong, I think she’s great!), but she really stands out in that music video. She’s totally rocking the short hair.

Wow, this MV looks absolutely beautiful, super glamorous set and outfits. The girls look better than ever, and the dance moves are sharper than ever. I just wish the video wasn’t squeezed but in the correct HD proportions. One slight disappointment with this MV is that even though it managed to exceed the original in almost all visual aspects, it doesn’t feel quite as “epic” as the original, just my opinion.
Love it! Aah I’ve missed the girls. Keep up the good work. Hwaiting!

Excellent stuff! But one black mark I have against this music video is the continuation (following Hoot) of Hyoyeon’s marginalisation. Like in Hoot, she hardly appears in Run Devil Run. A worrying trend…
Ugh I know. Even though she has quite a lot of parts in the song on comparison to their other ones her screen time consists of awkward camera angles that don’t focus on her and panned out group shots. This trend better not continue in mr taxi or I’ll be pissed

Taeyeon’s short is so amazing, especially when she kinds of flips it, if you know what I mean. It looks so cool. Seohyun, of course for me, looks the best, especially at the end when the camera zooms in on her. PURE GENIUS!!!!! Yuri looks incredibly beautiful as well. omg the mv is amazing! In the korean version, I thought Yoona and Sooyoung had weird outfits, but they ALL look terrific in this! Taeyeon looks absolutely gorgeous with both the short and long hair. The spinning around was a little dizzying, but the girls look so hot and that’s all that matters.

Well, personally, I kind of prefer this version over the Korean one 😀 😀 😀 !!! The girls’ make-up here is not so “jarring”, thus allowing their natural “angelic” beauty to “shine through” 😉 😀 !!! The bright set lighting, of course, played a BIG part too in showcasing their loveliness to the masses 🙂 😀 ! Kudos to the sharp editing of the MV, plus the Great camera work really showcases the 9 ladies, oh, so effectively <33333 !!! Everyone looked gorgeous! Man, look at Hyoyeon and Sunny unnie! Woooh~ I just smiled like a creeper the whole time. I have to admit, the look of the girls and the quality of the video looks better, but there’s no story compared to the Korean one. But it’s fine, because I’m thinking that more of the money is going to be used to fund the Mr. Taxi PV: as RDR was a digital single.

Taeyeon’s short do looks the best its ever been here! It’s all sharp and fierce not boblike, so I love it here! Then there was some clips of her with super long hair that was obviously beautiful 🙂 It looks so high tech haha probably because it’s Japanese :))

They performed this so much better than in the original vid. I guess there was a bit of a learning curve for the Girls as far as acting tough and all, and then maybe this director was able to give better direction. Conspicuously, Taeyeon doesn’t smile all genuine-like like in the original – she smiles, but it’s, you know, different. But more about Taeyeon later. I suppose there’s just more bite to everything they do in this video, that was absent from the original (video). The movements, the eyes, the faces, everything. That year’s difference really shows through, they learned a lot about the presentation along the way. I guess. They, like, understand it better. Ferocity.
I like the outfits a lot better, especially the unique outfits – the only exception is the white pants. I don’t think the straps on the hips work, and something about the front of the pants doesn’t look right either. And what with people talking Yuri’s weight loss, her hair pulled back makes her look a little skinny. But yipe! I’m not even going to bother trying to find the words to describe just how good Taeyeon looks with her short hair, especially in the white outfit. Just damn.
Anyway, I like how they held that one shot where Tiffany walks around Seohyun to transition into her part. You know, in the MVs you usually don’t see the transitions like that, and, I just like to. I don’t know, the audio could use a little more bass? And that spinning thing, I don’t really think it adds anything, it looks cool and is executed well, but in the end I think yeah, it doesn’t contribute to the theme and so is just a distraction.

Oh well, the “new” concept shown in the JPN RDR is definitely refreshing and bedazzling when compared to some of SNSD’s older works. Between the JPN RDR and the KRN RDR, I’m in favour of the JPN version as it showcases more spectacular highlights that is sure to fascinate even the most jaded of observers and/or SONEs’.
Said highlights cater to a viewer’s many likes and preferences. Such as the smokey makeup and nonchalant facial expressions (to the “Devil”), sophisticated fashion and appearance (of the ladies), the crisp and precise choreography, elaborate music setup or the overall concept itself, radiating a somber yet energetic atmosphere which fit the aesthetic criteria of many who watch the PV.
All in all, I’ve probably made some people lose their train of thought just by reading this. But I’m totally diggin’ the new JPN PV (Heck, the spell of the ladies have already befallen me.). As for the Mr. Taxi “Preview”, I’d rather wait for the official PV to come out than be spoiled in a heartbeat.
