As for the first 15 seconds… that’s just… oh my
yeah, the Sooyoung and Yuri thing. beat me to it.
Talk about brilliant execution of an idiotic idea. On paper it’s like those stupid “what a co-winky-dink” commercials from when I was a kid (saying a phrase over and over). Or to some it must be like a modest version of the Carls’ Jr./Hardee’s commercials. But all the elements come together and everything’s overdone to the point that it’s entertaining. That xylophone playing that cute tune, the sound effects, the Girls themselves and then the knowledge that it’s a commercial for food – and not just any food, but breaded chicken (the emblem says “roast chicken,” and they apparently cook it in an oven, but I’ve always thought of it as fried chicken).
Also, I rarely hear them speak like that, using that inflection, and that’s nice too.

In answer, no, you’re not the only one who felt a little awkward hearing the “OMG” utterances from the girls ;). However, if you look at it from the point of view of it being just a “cute” marketing concept by Goobne to show the exceptional quality of its cooked chicken products to their Korean customer base, it becomes a little more acceptable, almost loveable 😀 😀 😀 !!!!
