As part of their quest for global domination, the beautiful ladies of SNSD have once again made appearances in international newspapers. First up, they were mentioned in Malaysian newspaper Sin Chew Daily, in regards to their recent successes at the Golden Disk and Melon Music Awards. They also placed 1st in a list of top 10 artists from Korea for 2010 (box in the bottom right corner of the picture).
They were also featured in the Borneo Post. *Magnifying glass required*

Hmm interesting, since I can read Chinese I proceeded to read the short article on the right side of the first newspaper, it mentioned SM Entertainment changed its contract terms with all of their artists due to a mandate from the Fair Trade Commission. All artists’ contract lengths were changed from 13 years from the date of signing (or 10 years from the date of debut, whichever is longer I believe), to 7 years from the date of debut. Originally SNSD would be under contract until 2020 (OMG), now under the new terms their contract will expire in 2014.

GOOD for the girls 😀 😀 😀 !!!! It’s always a “win-win” situation whenever our 9 ladies are featured in any fairly reported, non-sensationalized news articles 😉 . If the details in the Chinese newspaper article are accurate, SM Entertainment is finally becoming “human” and treating its artistes fairly 🙂 🙂 !!! My only concern is, what happens to our “angelic” 9 after 2014 when their contract expires 😉 ?

The Borneo Post, established in 1978, is the largest English-language daily newspaper on the island of Borneo. It is widely circulated in the Sultanate of Brunei and the Malaysian states of Sarawak and Sabah, all on the northern coast of the island. Headquartered in Kuching, it has a current editorial staff of about 200. Since the indefinite suspension of the Sarawak Tribune in February 2006, it has grown to become the main English daily in Sarawak. In January 2007, the Sunday Post was launched, together with the website [1]. For 2006, The Borneo Post had an ABC-audited circulation of 86,000. At 2007 The Borneo Post ABC-audited circulation had reach over 96,000.
some info about The Borneo Post.

the contract will be expired in 2014 ? means there is only 4 years left ? omg…
anyways, i’ll be with SoShi ’till the end of the world, no matter where or when they go. forever love for our nine girls !!!!!

No need to panic, 2014 is not the end of the world as we know it. Contracts can always be renewed and extended, for example, Kangta just resigned with SME for another 10 years a few months ago, if the girls feel like they can continue their careers with SME after 2014, then they just have to renew their contract. Even if the nine girls choose not to resign with SM Entertainment, they can always sign with another company and continue their activities as SNSD, many former SM groups like Shinhwa have done just that.
