What a fantastic performance! I’ve never actually heard the ‘Amy’ song before, but thought the Girls looked ultra sexy singing it! In fact, they looked happy and relaxed and looked as if they were having fun all the way through every song. Nice work, Girls! Fighting!
ooommmggg this was so good! can’t wait for eng subs for the interview. the girls looked truly happy and energetic during these perfs, which is great to see!
I don’t like the way sooyoungs hair is in this though. I also wish they’d donned different outfits for each perf.
If you seek amy! omg a bit risque for soshi but they pulled it off so well. seohyuns english pronunciation was just fantastic, she sounded like a fluent speaker. all of them were so sexy! oohhh innocent maknae singing some of them lyrics and doing some of them dance steps is so weird but amazing! haha yoona definitely shone in this perf and fany was totes into it! 🙂
the camerawork also seemed very fair on all the girls in all the perfs. I’ve notice sooyoungs been getting a lot more attention on every show since japan & hoot promotions which is good for her. i think all members will have their chances to shine in the future.

Just finished viewing the interview segment of the show : the girls look so ADORABLE 😀 😀 😀 !!!!! Tffany’s “eye smiles” stole my heart yet again <3333 🙂 and Yuri's demonstration of the "Hoot" chorus dance steps was EPIC 😀 😀 😀 !!!! Sooyoung sang if u seek amy as the solo in their concert so i dont think there will be much controversies.
As long as the performance is good then it’s good. But ain’t it a fact that many people will wanna do them(sry if I’m being too direct >.<).

Sigh… Mistaken shortened again, SBS producers really have something against this song for some reason. Since we’re nearing the end of Hoot promotions I don’t think the girls will get to sing the full Mistake song on a music show setting, unless they get a special goodbye stage maybe 2 or 3 weeks down the road. Fortunately on this Chocolate episode, the girls demonstrated again their superb vocal abilities just i case we had any doubts, it was a near perfect rendition of this beautiful song, especially Taeyeon’s voice as it never disappoints, she has total control over her voice and her high notes were simply amazing.
Jessica made another cute mistake in Gee as she got confused with the choreography towards the end because they shortened the song. GorJess Spazzers got a real treat this weekend with all these cute Jessica moments.
Dude, dude, did Sooyoung go to finishing school or something? Look at how she sits on that box in the Mistake perf. It’s something, right? And I’m all “what’s that about?” And hooray for long comments.
Also, Sunny’s eyes at 55sec, at the end of the her+Yoong part.
Also, you see RagingXL? That’s what you get for ever having hopes and dreams, or even just desires in the first place. Haha – but that’s just a poor joke, my method of talking about things.
It was, yes, great to hear, but in that it is still a live performance, it is still a shame that the setting and costuming was so simple. You can’t escape that this isn’t the full treatment that a song like this could get, or perhaps deserves. “Pure” music is only possible because of recording technology, but even so, pretty much everyone will tell you that live music is better, in part because it engages more of your senses – even guys in black tuxedos and girls in black dresses provide visual feedback. Yeah, I’m rubbing salt in the wound. That latter part isn’t directed at you, RXL, I know, I’m just repeating stuff you or someone else elaborated before.
Who sings “nae jalmo shijyo” over the others at 2:10? It’s bugging me. But where does Sooyoung hang out that she picks up habits like the way she’s sitting on that block? But Taeyeon closing her eyes, it looks like she’s affected by something, rather than just trying to concentrate on the music more (from a youtube comment), as closing your eyes that consistently winds up being a distraction itself. I was, like, begging for her to share her eyes with us, to see just that much more into whatever was going on with her in that moment – but, through almost the entire song, or, at least during most of her parts of it, she closes the blinds. Also, at about 1:55, at the end of her solo part, Yuri and Jessica take a moment to fly away with her with their eyes closed also (or just looking far enough down to look like their eyes are closed). It’s nice.

That’s a pretty sweet performance of Gee. Tiffany at the end of her part in the first verse, she’s all, like, smiling, and I’m all like, “aww.”

I’d like to think I know Taeyeon’s voice by heart, and I know at 2:10 it’s her “nae jalmo shijyo” adlib, but from the way her mouth was moving, it didn’t look like she actually sang to her adlib, so it was probably a recording of her voice that played in the background. I don’t know why that happened as she did sing all her other parts live. And her closed eyes, that’s just how Taeyeon sings, when she sings on radio shows, she even turns away from the camera to focus completely, it’s like she gets into this zone when she sings, obviously she can’t turn away on a music show so closing eyes was probably the best alternative. If anything was distracting I’d say her octopus hair was far more distracting than her closed eyes. I can dwell on this some more, such as how I didn’t like how Fany handled her last line, or how Jessie missed one of her three adlibs in the first chorus, but aren’t we overanalyzing this a little too much? The appeal of live performances is that it’s different from the original recording.
As for Sooyoung’s sitting posture, I just wanna say if you got legs like hers you can sit however you want and still look pretty. Fair enough?
The voice @ 2:10 is actually Seohyun’s adlibs.
Well shame on me, my iTunes count says I’ve listened to Mistake 525 times… and for the entire time I thought that was Taeyeon’s adlib, the way Seohyun sang really made it sound like Taeyeon, or maybe it’s just me. The two do have the lowest voices in Soshi so I got them confused this time. So I guess I have to eat my word and say I don’t know Taeyeon’s voice by heart.
rrr, sometimes I hate being an idiot with the run-on writing and I think it’s just spazzing with more words than is usual but I make people worry because I notice weird things or interpret them funny but if I don’t communicate them they’re just thoughts I have and somewhere I got tired of not talking about things but sometimes I make it worse by purposely expressing things funny and that just makes it worse.
I think the octo-hair is cute, but I meant that I thought that closing your eyes that long is distracting for the performer.
And Sooyoung sitting, I meant her posture – and that it’s a good thing, I like. Straight back, shoulders squared, clean angles for her legs… the other girls are slouching or slumping their shoulders, especially poor Tiffany.
I couldn’t watch the “Hoot” performance…it was blocked :(! But their “Mistake” performance was superb…I think SM should take note that the girls sings better live when live bands are used instead of using MR/backtracks!

‘Mistake’ the most perf I liked. They vocal have many many improve. Taeyeon vocal the best but another member also better now. I’m proud… They work really hard. And they make improve and success. I hope SNSD make more success…big success!! Fighting!!!
Are they not able to change the lyrics entirely?
I mean, “If you seek Amy” is spelling out the F word and we all know it. Why not just change the lyrics to HUG me? Meet me? Reduces controversy and won’t bring on the criticism. Even Britney Spears was criticized heavily for being sneaky about it here in the States and Korea is about 100x more conservative than the States.
Certainly its legal to say it but that’s not the issue. I mean in the States you could walk around saying that but will that garner any respect. Britney Spears wasn’t particularly looked up to as a moral role model for girls/ young women. Sex symbol yeah. Its legal to be a prostitute in Nevada but that doesn’t mean you’re going to be respected for becoming one by a heavily Christian South Korea (North Korean killed the Christians so they all fled to the South during the Korean War. Have to be aware of the social pressure there and yeah someone is bound to make a big deal about it on the waves over there).
I believe personally it wasn’t meant to have significance (considering its English, nor is that SNSD’s concept… there are other girl groups out there from Korea with less subtlety) but the controversy could be avoided more thoroughly instead of just adjusting the words (Its really obvious too, all the boys and girls want to IF you seek Amy?) Not so smooth there lol.
So again, I’ll ask the question. Was there a reason to go with that? Sure original lyrics, original song. Copyright? Censorship? Cause that might be important in defending the choice of the song.
