Updated with HD video and a fancam which has better audio quality than the broadcast version!
Trust me, you’ll never see a more serious crowd than this during a Soshi performance. The girls perform Oh! and Hoot.
The awards show is for the film industry and the girls sported the golden outfit this time. I’m liking it though not as much as their black and red one (aka the one from today’s Music Bank!).
And props to the actors and actresses for not even busting a smile…because I would’ve started cackling in joy. NBD.
Thanks to MonmonsChannel & SSYY03 for the youtube upload!
The audience really kills the mood. Our girls deserve better.
here for HD video
LoL They Could Have Atleast SMiled… Anyways,,
Tiffany-Unnie Your The Best! Saranghae<3<3<3
hey look its TOP, keeping up his charismatic look. XD
i feel like drawing a “smiley” face on all the audience instead..what is wrong with them? -.-
I think the mics/sound isn’t configured right. They sounded really weird at times!
man..wonder how difficult it is to perform with a smile when the audience r all professional n serious…
Wow. The audience kind of looks bored, except a few. I agree, our girls deserve better than that.
maybe there is a rule that says if you (the audiences) smile you can’t get SNSD autographed afterwards. So they all maintain poker face. Lol
lol 😀
the crowd looks bored. tsk tsk tsk… are they not allowed to smile or clap?
If I were a valuable place Snsd i w’d smail and lugh
maybe the Actresses be Jealousy hahahah 🙂
WOW! Yoona is so pretty!!!
I’m Surprised TOP didn’t smile… so sad..
He should be happy looking at SNSD performing.
Two LIVE Hoot performances in one day?? oh my, what a perfect way to end my day!! Yay!
~and i bet those actors/actresses are cheering their lungs out..on the inside..~
Hey someone died or what !!??
what’s wrong with them ?
even the little girl looks bored (0:11)
at 1:47 she’s like “what’s that?!”
3:08 => someone definitely died…
(3:20-3:26) => he is almost sleeping !!
Honestly what a waste for the girls, their hardwork deserve so much better…
guys, their all professional, if they act like a fan girl screaming it would look so odd. . . …
i do the same if i’m watching a performance so i won’t miss any of it. ..i concentrate to the people on stage if it’s very fun to watch, . . kekeke
*they’re* rather than their. . . haha
WHAT’S WRONG WITH THE CROWD??? THAT WAS SO WRONG
WTF?!?!??! The audience is stone cold….how can they be so mean and resist soshi????? Meanies…
소녀시대 FIGHTING!!!
Y no response one? evn d applause isnt loud enuf i could barely hear them… 0.0 seriously, it sounded like not evn 1% of d crowd applauded for them…N d place is like so full housed..
Wow, is the audience always like this at this ceremony? Is it my headphones or is there crackling/popping sounds coming from the girls microphones? I’ll have to listen again when I get home…..
I feel mad right now, the audiences could a less smile. If they act like that the girls must be every upset….
Aish….they are so mean….
SNSD fighting…..!!!
I agree. They could have at least smiled, right? But maybe they’re all enjoying the performance, they just don’t show it. Professionalism. @_@ lol
Anyway.. Have you guys noticed their vocals while performing? It seems like they’re all nervous or something.
Looking through some of the comments on allkpop, I am kind of disappointed SME put the girls in this situation. They could have easily picked a ballad and some classy dresses for the girls to wear, which would have been more appropriate for the venue they were performing in. And didn’t somebody test the dang microphones before they used them, sheesh.
Anyway, just need to let this one go and look forward to their next performance.
wow.
props for them for keeping the happiness inside, it doesn’t even show in their faces! beat that, haha..
although I can’t resist thinking that sones could do better than…well.. than those audience..
lol.
the audience needs a lot of rest, they seemed spacing out..
This is some serious “shit” (<— sorry for that =P)
And people always take these kind of awards seriously – for real yo –
and the audience… most of them are aged people 😛 with experience lol
I think it's a good experience for them… performing in front of a "hate-like" audience…. ( not saying they hate them )….
Peace brothers and sisters \m/ Rock On SNSD !
at least, fake a smile to the artists that was performing.
i saw one chick smile or smirk
Such a stoic audience -_-‘
I’m sure they’re all screaming like fan girls on the inside 😀
These people need to loosen up a little. I swear, one of them was practically asleep.
I agree, what a waste to make the girls perform twice within one night. They didn’t
even smile. Some of the actresses seemed really disgusted by the girls, but they were
all fangirly and giggling when 2PM performed… SNSD deserves more than this. Some
people can’t appreciate them. At least us fan loved the performance right? The girls
did great. 😀
wow, very proud of the girls. 🙂 the audience looks like the students who are studying the girls’ performance and wondering how popular the girls are.
wht channel is this on ?> kbs, kbs2, mbc >?? tell me! pls! and lolz at the crowd, i would’ve been jumping aorund screaming LOLXD
man, that must have been so awkward for them! the audience was so quiet you could hear the girls feet when they walked. some of the old guys they showed werent even watching. gahd, on girl’s mouth was just like hanging open, she was so confused.lol even TOP didnt smile. all those young guys know they wanted to yell and spazz….gee, why would they even schedule the girls to do this performance. obviously it was the wrong crowd. but props to SNSD for still having a great performance even when their crowd was dead! i guess its ok bc the definitely felt the love on MusicBank from their real fans! 😀
TOP is an actor that night, not idol!
lol that one actor looked like he was fighting to keep his eyes open from falling asleep. Nobody has to go crazy but at least they could smile…
hey jchan where r u from ??
I have no idea what the reason behind this performance but i think this wasn’t their best performance. Some were not heard and some were off pitch/ out of tune. And it was a little messy in between Oh! and Hoot. And the worst part is, the audience died.
mte. i think they were a bit nervous in front of such a serious crowd.
on the other hand, hoot on music bank was one of the best snsd comeback performances ever. everything was perfect- pitch, dance 😀 except for fany and sunny’s hair…..
but definitely very very good. HOOOOOOOT
ahaha I agree with you and the hair xD… its not their best style but the song is LEGEN… wait for it…. DARY. As for the crowd, i can understand them, i wouldnt want to be the only one cheering for the girls and nobody wants to start first.
OMG who the hell invited the Girls to performed there, there was no smile, clapping, cheering.
I have even spotted 1 male i don’t know who is he but from what i see he even almost fell asleep.
Jesus Christ(no offense)!!! Damn the girls don’t deserve this kind of response.
I have to agree, that is the most MISERABLE bunch of people I have ever seen 😦 !!! Come on, at least show some appreciation for the efforts made by the girls on stage ! Perhaps they are all so nervous thinking about whether they’re going to win any awards tonight that they forgot to “activate” their “happy” faces 😉 🙂 . SNSD Daebak !!!
Hopefully my sarcastic tone wasnt taken too seriously by everyone and hopefully my words didnt enrage readers even more 😛 The crowd is pretty blergh, for lack of a better word, but they do this quite often to other singers. maybe its because their actors and they want to be more serious but regardless, its not because of song choice and its not really sme’s fault either for having the girls perform there. idols are probablyused to this dead pan expression by now so whatever as least we have a quiet video to watch lawl. 🙂
We should have got a SONE army together and stormed the place!! Could you picture a bunch of crazies carrying big pink light sabres running down the aisles screaming like Ninjas!! The look on the audience’s faces would be priceless….
Sorry, I’m cracking myself up writing this, I think I need more (or less?) caffeine……
aww…i can tell the girls were a bit uncomfortable performing here :(, in contrast with the MuBank performance. i also blame the production crew for having them start with “Oh” intro, it didn’t help their performance and it turned out rather awkward. i remember the time when the Wondergirls performed “Nobody,” at Daejeong Award and they too were face with the same blunt expressions from the audience. but we have to realize that the audience of Daejeong are prestigious actors/actresses/directors, they probably don’t follow Kpop that much and usually stay around the actor’s circle. but then again, i don’t understand why 2PM got a better reaction than our girls…they must be in need of testosterone level!
The cROwd is like dead people watching…. hmph.. yaahh… i agree to the army to protect the GIRLS… :))
Guys don’t worry, who cares what those actors think.
The PD ask our girls to perform the first place for rating.
While our girls get to promote hoot again in the same day.
It’s pretty much win win situation.
Plus those actors have to act high class, they rarely ever show their fanboys/fangirls reaction.
But they did clap in the end, so at least they weren’t very rude.
hey it’s better if you post this version.
Wow, the audio sounds much better on the fancam, the girls sound fine. Very commendable camera work here and you can actually hear that people did cheer for them when they were done.
how come this fancam was a lot better than what was actually broadcast, lol? did the editing team deliberately trying to ruin SNSD’s performance :(?
Updated on the post. 🙂
Hhmm.. Read some where of the comment in here and agree about the song chosen for this kind of award. Maybe song like Banji / Ring is much more suitable? What I mean is the type of the songs.
The vid post by Kenji is much better.. =D
oh man .. it had to be really hard to perform then all the audience is like this … poor girls…
i know what that mean… ;/
This performance scares me. In my opinion, it didn’t seem like a strong one. The girls still seem weary from all the traveling and concert activity. I don’t think they’re exactly prepared to be coming back so soon. These girls always gave weaker performances every week when they had their comebacks. I remember in the end of Genie, you could even tell there was a lack of interest and a lack of energy in the performances, coupled with a bit of mistakes. From here, it would seem that these Hoot performances are only going downhill.
As for the actors and the response from the audience, you could tell there were still a few with a grin some of their faces. They applauded the girls at the end and recognized a job well done. There were a few who had somewhat of a grin on their face. Others, not so much. Whether it be that they’re not much of SNSD fans or they’re trying to stay professional, it doesn’t matter. Each of them are entitled to their opinion, and if they’re not followers of SNSD, then so be it. Justin Beiber scores pretty high in America’s charts, does it make anyone a terrible person if they don’t like him?
ThankYou for saying that! everyone is going off because these people didnt absolutely love snsd. ofcourse not evryone is going love them…
woooow the audience is a complete buzz kill lol
they have absolutely no emotions….(dead inside?) xDD
anyways loved the perf :]
That was, extremely awkward, despite not actually being there. Realizing that ‘Oh!’ was cut short for the performance for ‘Hoot’, makes me wonder what it is like for the British Royal Variety Show, when you’re performing in front of the Queen herself. Looking at the crowd makes me cringe a litte, despite reading Kenji’s comment.
their performance wasn’t that great. seems like snsd wasn’t appropriate fo this occasion…
I reckon SNSD is appropriate for any occasion 🙂 But this just wasn’t the crowd for Hoot. These were pro actors and actresses, not an audience of SONEs.
Maybe a ballad would’ve been better for them to perform
…they just didnt seem interested period
if i was there, i would be the only person whose screaming at the girls XD
omg im really hating thecrowd right now lol except TOP
I LOVE THE FANCAM ONE! AND WE KNOW THE FAN CAM ONE IS REAL AND THE BROADCAST WAS A HOAX, SCAM, EDITED, IDK…LOL
the girls did so good. and maybe the @o___o
the girls sounded bad on the broadcast but in the fan cam they were sharp, synchronized, and their vocals were really good!
BUT TO EVERYONE
SNSD did really well in the fan cam right? It was all original. It made me feel SO MUCH BETTER after i watched that compared to the broadcast. lol
It seriously seems like the actors and actresses are in a funeral. They totally killed the mood! Shizzzz bring us out there and I’ll act like one of Taecyeon’s fans lol
I thought the audience had been replaced by shop front mannequins, all sat there wth straight backs and serious expressions. It looked as if they had explosives strapped to the bottom of their chairs and had been told that if they moved or smiled, or reacted in any positive manner whatsoever then the chairs would be detonated. That one guy looked just about ready to doze off! :::Sighs:::
I really felt for the girls being faced with such a stony faced audience, and applaud their professionalism for performing to the best of their abilities despite the ‘audience of undead’.
Well done, girls! As usual, you were flawless and just watching you made me smile a lot! In fact, seeing So-nyuh Shi-dae sing has been the highlight of my entire day! Fighting!
a fancam recording the performance and it was way better then the broadcast version made it to be. There were cheering before and after the performance. The music was way better and the choreography was perfect and in sync as expected from them. It’s kind of insulting, to me, that the producer of the show would treat the viewers like idiots and broadcast something so negative and have fans blasted the audiences; were shown to seem bore and uninterested when actually that wasn’t the whole picture. If they didn’t want to be bother with making the whole broadcast enjoyable then just do what the person with the fancam did and use one camera to film the whole performance without showing the audience faces and no sound editing, even that would have been better.
big bang performed at the same award show in 08 and they also got the same reaction. i guess that the older ppl dont really like pop stuff
ehh nope hun, big bang reaction was much better than this. even some were sining along.
I think you were talking about dbsk one!
Yeah, what’s hard about smiling??
They dont know what kind of hardship our girl are going through..
Well, at least, they (actors and actresses and all people who doesnt appreciate our girls’ performance) are not as famous as our girls..
Our girls are ASIA NO. 1!!
With SONEs from all over the whole world, from Europe to America, from Russia to Australia!!
HOOT HOOT!!
Ignore those ignorant peopl!!
I am going to be here, and always be, to support you ANGELS unnies :))
No matter what people says..
Right now, until now, and forever, It’s Girls’ Generation!! :DD
“because I would’ve started cackling in joy” LOL everyone would probably think i’m high on crack if i saw them too lol
It’s like the broadcast deliberately made SNSD look bad!
The girls sounded AMAZING in the fancam!! wth happened to SBS broadcast version??!!
SNSD JJANG!!!
Just two things:
1) The reason the audio sounded terrible in the broadcast version is because the producers tapped into the mics of the individual singers. Usually, that is done to remaster a recording’s music and vocals on separate tracks for broadcast/to create a live performance DVD, but instead they just focused on one mic while leaving the other vocals and the music to drone like ambient sound. The fancam was definitely better because the music (coming from the speakers) and SNSD (whose voices also amplified and came out of the speakers) sounded like how people in the hall would have heard it, not the isolated thing the people filming Daejong gave us.
2) Unlike Hollywood, Asian film award ceremonies are… sombre. They have this air of “professionalism” and hence the lack of emotion while listening to SNSD perform. Also, most of these people are several generations older than SNSD’s targetted audience… so… understandably these people were sitting on their asses going “I don’t get it…” instead of hollering fanchants.
If any of us were in the audience and we cheered like fangirls (yes, even us guys… cheering like FANGIRLS) we’d probably be escorted out… and beaten with a stick.
Support… lol… different culture different atmosphere…
it goes to show that camera can create a false impression. but i like the broadcast one too because i can hear the girls’ real singing voice more closely especially sunny’s.
They shouldn’t even have invited our girls here! What a waste of their time…. At least let them perform a ballad, that’s more appropriate right???? I didn’t have the heart to continue watching the whole video when they panned to the audience for the first time. They looked so…. bored. Sheesh, SM you should have let them rest instead. I feel sorry for the girls. What a large contrast to Music Bank performance where SONES were practically screaming their lungs out. AHH can’t wait for MuCore and Inki!!!
Trust me, I bet they were all spazzing inside. Like FUUUUU I hate my job I wanna spazz but people around me are so serious so I’ll just clench my fist in agony instead wtf idek.
to add on: the sparkly outfit could have been coupled with black shiny gloves (i’m thinking ala JabbaWockeeZ) to complement the black shiny boots.
Nevertheless, much sparklier than Edward Cullen.
Yes !!! The fancam of the girls’ performance is SO MUCH BETTER than the “official” one 😉 ! At least now we know that the audience that night weren’t “dead” :0. Don’t you just love the fact that 3 of our beautiful ladies were heading in the “wrong” direction off the stage at the end of their performance, before realizing their mistake 😉 ? So cute 🙂 🙂 ! SNSD JJANG !!!
Holy Moly! The fancam was super HOT! So different from the broadcast and so much better!
Yuri is beyond HOT!!!!!!
Hate the audience man… they look so moody.
Love the girls new outfit!! XD
This was a mistake, should’ve performed “Mistake”, no pun intended, but that song would’ve perfectly suited this poker-face mood.
I think the actors were all worried about their chances of winning the awards, their minds must be way too occupied to even smile or cheer.
i guess the audience cannot appreciate seeing the girls awkwardly hopping around on stage…singing ‘oooohh’…and ‘hoot’….in the voice of pooh of the teletubbies….
and we don’t appreciate seeing your dumb comments on our site kiddo
go play with other ugly, jealous 12 year old girls.why waste your time reading the whole article, watching the show and now commenting here.tsk tsk just shows how much you care.keep it up 🙂
i saw the fancam where they shot the choreography and i hear a lot of people cheering from above. the choreography from the broadcast made it look like the girls were sloppy but this fancam is totally different. see for yourselves.
