Kuse ni naru wa!
After the Japanese version of “Genie” dropped last month, the girls have been working their butts off for promotions. Looks like their hard work paid off (or maybe they got some help from a genie. i’m so lame) because–
“Genie” made it to number 4 on the prestigious Oricon Monthly Singles Chart! With a total sales of 75,276 copies, the girls were able to mark their territory on the big red target. Beating out competitors was definitely a great feat because competition was especially tough among the 3rd-6th placings since the differences in copies sold were so minimal.
1. Arashi – Ｌφｖｅ Ｒａｉｎｂｏｗ
2. EXILE - Motto Tsuyoku
3. UVERworld - Qualia
4. Shoujo Jidai – GENIE
5. Hamasaki Ayumi – crossroad
6. GLAY – Precious
7. V6 – only dreaming / Catch
8. Houkago TeaTime – Gohan wa Okazu / U&I
9. AKB48 – Heavy Rotation
10. Koda Kumi – Suki de, Suki de, Suki de. / Anata Dake ga
YAYYYY Soshi. I’m sure they can gee gee gee gee baby baby their way to the top of the charts this month when “Gee” drops in the upcoming weeks. Considering that “Gee” was the hit song that made SNSD so popular, I’m not worried at all.
