Breaking news ! It seems the rumours circulating around actually has a grain of truth to it ;). SM Entertainment has officially announced the formation of the first Soshi sub-unit, comprising of one of our favourite “Royal Family” pairings (if you are a shipper, that is š ), the Kims (i.e. Taeyeon, Tiffany and Seohyun), on the 19th of April 2012.
Officially called TaeTiSeo, this sub-group is already hard at work, their first mini-album release being scheduled for the 2nd of May 2012. Entitled “Twinkle”, it will feature songs by these 3 lovely ladies from SNSD, which are both attractive and easy on the ears :).
An official statement by SM Entertainment on the matter of the Soshi sub-unit formations states that: āGirlsā Generationās subunit will feature the various talents of each Girlsā Generation member by changing the members of the unit according to the music and concept of each new subunit album. This subunit will aim to grab the attention of fans with all aspects of music, performance, and fashion styles.ā
I don’t know about you, but I personally am looking forward to this new development in the 9 ladies’ professional career, as it will mean that, if in the future, the 9 are no longer officially together, we SONEs will still get to see some of them being active in the K-Pop music scene. SNSD Jjang !

based on what was said up there im getting the feeling that twinkle is snsd’s subunit not just taeyeon,tiffany,seohyun im thinking that they are just gonna add 3 or 4 to the Unit when ever they get a cool song and decide who fits it more like later twinkle might be Jessica,sooyoung,sunny who knows that’s just my opinion

I’d be in for that. Actually i would love that it will be perfect since the other girls wont have to worry about remembering the english it causes less stress. but if they want to sing in english that’s even better.

I love this new sub-unit. Yes, it might take a bit of time to get used to but Girls Generation are not going to break up anytime soon. Just because they have a sub-unit, doesn’t mean the power 9 of nine has been demolished. There are other groups who have a number of sub-units and they’re still together. So don’t worry SONES!!! We support our girls no matter what!

I’m so deeply against the decision SM Entertainment made. I was never a fan of Super Junior’s sub-units. It’s just confusing and unnecessary. For me, it has to be the Power of Nine, Nine Angels. Not a third.
God, I absolutely hate this. It’ll just push back Girls’ Generation’s promotions as a whole. It’ll make the girls more tired considering they’ll be working on the sub-unit and the actual group constantly.
If SM wants to draw in more people, just make a new group. People should accommodate to Girls’ Generation, not vise versa. You don’t like the music they make as a whole? Go listen to another group. What will happen if a certain line-up of a sub-unit gets a lot of attention? (Which I’m sure will happen, our girls are too talented) New fans will be attracted to THAT sub-unit and not GG as a whole, since it won’t be the same musical style.
Something that upsets me intensively as well is how SM can’t just focus on one thing at once. The girls recently made their debut in the US which drew a considerable amount of attention, not as much as I would like, but it did. SM should be focusing on THAT project before launching a new one.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m going to support my girls regardless of anything since they deserve the success. But it’s just concerning, I’m scared about the direction GG will take.
I’m totally agree with your opinion actually i thought with the promotions they did in America, GG starting a new expansion movement but they all together, this is totally unexpected and it could be a great decision or maybe a total disaster.. WeĀ“ll see, but to be honest i donĀ“t like the idea it all..

Honestly, I’m quite anxious and nervous with SNSD’s sub group… They’ll be like super junior and I’m scared that they might also end up having a lot of stress and they might be too much exhausted and all worn-out like SuJu š¦ ohhh I hope SM TOWN won’t pressure SNSD too much Huhu my poor SoShi. I’ve been a J-Pop enthusiast before becoming a dedicated Sone, and i’ve seen many Japanese idol Group doing this sub-unit thingy, and i don’t see any failure or false movement in that. Even though we love all nine girls, each and every Sone have their own member bias, and sub unit is a super effective way to draw loyal fans (with specific bias), just like what i.d.m said in the comment above “my 3 best together, its paradise”, and newcomers alike. It’s a common occurrence in Asia Entertainment Industry. And this is nowhere near the end of Girls Generation..trust me…
Also, a sub unit performance are usually done between the promotion of the Main unit, in K-pop, maybe it’s between Goodbye stage and the next Comeback stage. So, isn’t it a good thing to see our girls more frequently? It does mean more job and performance to do, which lead to more training and busy schedule, but Our girls are doing it for us Sone, let’s be grateful for that!
this probably means theyre going to make other sub units with the other members, and if they are I totally dont think they should put 3lead vocalists together, it should be more like 1 vocal and 2 sub vocal so it’ll balance. Unless if this is like super junior kry
Taeyeon is a MAIN vocalist, Fany and Hyun are lead vocalists so its perfect.

GG cant dance forever, so the girls mush have something to do with their specialty, TaeNyHyun is the top three in singing, Sica i think SM have something too for, but they have to be patient because Sunny still busy because sunny can be her partner…and i dont worry about Sunny future, she is “daebak” she is good in everything. YoonYul in drama and SooYoung will follow to..

Subunits are normal for any group. It’s not a big deal, some of y’all need to chill. Subunit is no worse or better than a solo song on an OST. So, whatever.
Better question is, what kind of song is it going to be. With these three, a ballad would make sense, but given the appearance of their concept, looks like it’ll be something pop-y or something a touch Gaga or artsy pop style.

I really hope that what they said abt switching around the members of the sub unit are true…I wanna see all the girls, not single 3 out and concentrate on those sole 3. so sad, i think most likely this is beginning of an end for SNSD otherwise, they wouldn’t make this sub-unit…I remember Yoona said she’d like to persue acting after snsd and Jessica said she’d like to give modeling a go. i think it is all good for now, maybe they are indeed preparing something for the 9 girls like a special album. Let’s just say that this is just their appetizer to get us fans up jumping and at the same time a little worried/excited. I’m sure sunny, jessica and the rest of the group will be joining them after their own respective works are done. Though they may not stall all together in the future i know they will occasionally do some activities together but still as a big fan of these beautiful and talented girls, I really want them to stay as one for ever because they do compliment and at the same time cover the weakness of their other members. I love SNSD for ever hope you guys will stay as one FIGHTING!!!!!!! and I hope I could go to south korea for a month and just tour and watch your concerts!!!! hehehe
