Late this afternoon, KBS 1TV aired a live fundraising broadcast of Love Request featuring So Nyuh Shi Dae and Super Junior.

The program told the stories of two young children, Suraili, an 11-year-old girl from Cambodia, who has a heart condition; and Nurulee a 9-year-old boy from India, who has lost his eyesight.

Suraili and Nurulee are fans of SNSD and Super Junior respectively, and through Love Request, the children were able to travel to Korea, to receive proper medical treatment, and to meet their favorite idols.

The ‘Surprise Blood Drive Event’ from last week was also featured as a segment on the program, helping to raise awareness of blood shortages across Korea.

Throughout the broadcast both groups performed a selection of their songs to an audience of children, bringing much joy to their faces. The girls’ performed ‘Complete’, ‘Hoot’ and ‘Gee’.

In the future, we hope to give strength to more children through music – Seohyun.

The broadcast was able to help raise 32 million KRW (over $28,000 US) through phone-in donations for charity.
