Visit Korea 2010-2012 is a Korean committee dedicated to promoting South Korea as a top tourist destination.  Finally this group has recognized the power of Girls Generation as they have decided to add them to their list of official Ambassadors.

The induction ceremony for the girls will be held on August 19th, at 2:00 PM  KST, within the confines of the Lotte Hotel in Sogong-Dong, South Korea.  It is here where the committee will announce their official appointment as Public Relations representatives.

This is a huge achievement for the girls, who now join the likes of Yuna Kim, Bae Yong-Joon, and children’s character Pororo, as the official Public Relations Ambassadors for Korea.

They have been given this important role because of their growing international influence, which was proven by SMTown Paris, and their success in Japan.

“Recently, K-POP has been becoming a hot issue throughout the world, therefore we are anticipating an increase in Visit Korea Year promotions as well as the value of Korean sightseeing brand by appointing Girls’ Generation who has been leading Korean wave.” said Secretary General of the Visit Korea Committee Hong Ju-Min.

An official from the Committee also noted that “since Kpop has emerged as a global phenomenon recently, the appointment of the leading Hallyu artiste, SNSD would foster the appreciation towards Korea’s tourism brand as well as providing a huge impact on the “Visit Korea Year” promotional efforts.”
