SM has released the full MV of ‘BAD GIRL’! I thought SM would tease us some more or keep us waiting, but i guess not this time.
Loving the badass concept and the choreography, but I wish there was a storyline.
UPDATE:
Hey guys, JaeCee here. Video was nice and all, but I was a bit miffed at the crappy sound quality off the tube. So I replaced the sound with the HQ track and converted the video to 60FPS. Grab it right here: http://www.mediafire.com/?brc2q6d2501bce3

What the kabana? Just finished watching the japanese news preview and it popped up!!! Thanks Joyce 🙂 see you when i regain consciousness!
Choreo is still awesome, as seen at the concerts, concept and costumes are great, but is that a green screen? It stood out way too much and made the entire thing feel rushed and cheap 😦
Still a nice suprise for us SONEs, and it came out pretty quickly after the teaser.
Yep that’s a green screen 😦 with incorrect lighting at that making it more obvious. Cheap looking indeed (like the 3D RDR MV omg).. Mr.Taxi looks much much better even if I initially found it kinda cheap too.. but at least the screen time seems more equally divided in this MV! 🙂 I like their black outfits a lot too! I wish they did more with the motorcycles~
I really wish they used a real setting for this one and not a computer generated one.. the backdrop looks even faker because the lighting is different from the lighting on the girls so it looks even faker or they should at least make sure the computer generated lighting on the backdrop actually matches the lighting the girls have D:
I was hoping for a story line too 😦
Sorry for being nitpicky lol. Other than that though AGHHH LET ME DIEEEEE ❤ ❤ ❤
im agree with syo..but SNSD always DAEBAK!!!
This looks like it was meant to be 3D or something. It looks kind of underwhelming the way it is right now. I still love the song though.
Awesome!!! Love my bad girls… I wish thrs a storyline though… I hv a feeling this is jz the dance version.
I wish that too but I have a feeling this is their non-dance version already since it had that motorcycle intro and solo shots and stuff unlike the dance mv’s where all of them are shown most of the time. 😦
No story line. D:
Oh well..hm it makes sense since this isn’t a comeback MV or anything. Although I would’ve liked it if they did an MV for The Great Escape(I kind of like that song better than Bad girl). Of course the girls look great in the video and the choreo is still fun to watch. Wow didn’t expect the MV to come out this quick but I’m not complaining haha
Agree. i thought that The Great Escape would more likely be MV-fied than Bad Girl. And i prefer that song as well. ^^
Seems that i’m not the only one having qualms bout this MV. I know that this is not a promotional video and SMent said its a gift for fans. But if they’re gonna release something that low quality as gift, i’d rather they do without. And by “they”, i mean SMent. Dont get me wrong, I luurrvvee seeing our girls all badass in this vid, but the MV is just poorly made. I’m not talking bout the choreo coz for those of us who’ve scoured YT for their jap fancams, we’re already familiar with lineup. For those who’ve never watched SNSD’s jap fancams, this could be considered a forgetable choreo. More importantly, our girls would have the stain of a badly-made MV attached to their name. As fans, we know that SMent controls the final output and makeup of the MV, but seriously…..how many people out there (who come across this MV by chance or otherwise) would stop to consider this? My beef with SM is that they’re desperately milking our girls’ fame for profits while withholding them from giving their best back to fans. Seriously….our girls are stuck with some of the worst MVs lately.
i totally agree. i think SM should at least consider investing on an very well made mv specially for SNSD. SM owe it not only to the girls but the fans who have supported and spent money on supporting all of SNSD’s releases (whether it be korean or japanese). i understand that SM wants to cut cost on the budget, but SNSD is basically their largest money maker atm so a little spend drift wouldn’t be too bad of an investment tbh. i’m getting sick and tired of others criticizing how lackluster and cheap SNSD’s mvs are. a beautiful mv is a window opportunity to gain new fans, that’s the first thing a non-fan would do in order to be a fan. so at least get it right this time SM. i still have hope, that their korean comeback wouldn’t fall under the same category. i truly hope for an EPIC korean comeback mv for SNSD.
Please allow me to talk some sense into you overly negative people. I disagree that this is a “low quality” MV, it may not be the most extravagant and high budget MV, but as a gift I’ll take it. SM is getting marginal monetary benefit from releasing this MV, the promotions for the Japanese album are basically over and the sales have dropped off (the album did great btw with no new MVs), so how can this be considered “milking”? SM didn’t have to do this, so take it for what it is, a gift, one that I’m personally very grateful for even if this isn’t my favorite song. The girls themselves are so smoking hot that you’re basically just paranoid if you’re STILL distracted by the minor visual imperfections. This video did not in anyway fail to showcase their beauty and the quirky choreography. If you think this is MV is a disservice to SNSD, you’d be wrong, I don’t think many stranger who bumped into this video would overanalyze every little insignificant detail and heavily criticize it as “lackluster”, they’ll probably be too busy being charmed by SNSD.
The people that would criticize this video are the same ones that would criticize every other SNSD video whether it be high budget or not – haters be hating, antis be trolling, why should you even care? All I’m saying is, all of us here are getting so spoiled by the girls and we think everything they make should be gold. That’s just an unrealistic expectation, fact is, not even the most successful and wealthiest artists in the world overspend and turn everything they make into gold. Why can’t we just be a little more positive about this? SM gave us some spazz material, now go fking spazz.
@RagingXL: Well now….its good that you feel so strongly for our girls but i don’t take too kindly to the vehemence of your words. Your use of expletives was uncalled for and downright rude. Since you replied to my comment, i would take it upon myself to reply to yours.
You “disagree that this MV is low quality”. I apologize for my earlier comment. I have to admit, its not LQ afterall. After some consideration, it only looks bad on 1st impression coz of the dinky interior of the warehouse. CGed i’m told.
Even though SNSD’s promotion for their jap album has ended, i have no doubt that SM will devise a way to wring more money from us with this release. Probably a repackaged album inclusive of this vid in HD/3D or something. It might not be now, but you’d be sure SM will ‘milk’ this for more profits later. So yes. I consider this milking.
“Though it may not be the most extravagant and high budget MV, i’ll accept it as a gift.” Its great that you like this ‘gift’ but I differ. Why? Coz i know SMent could do better than this half-hearted effort. SMent released this calling it a gift to fans. But it gives me this presumption that SMent doesnt really think much of me as a fan if they’re gonna ‘gift’ me with something so sub-par. But that’s just me. Now before you go off the deep end, please take note that i said SMent and in no way am i referring to the girls. Which leads me to your next statement;
“The girls are smoking hot….This video did not in anyway fail to showcase their beauty and the quirky choreography.” In my defense, did i say anything damning bout the girls? I love the girls’ badass concept. I think they rocked it though i didn’t mention this in my previous comment so you might have thought otherwise. As for the choreo, i love it just coz the girls danced it. But that’s just me as a bias fan. If i take the fan out of me, its pretty much forgettable.
So i’m paranoid if i’m “distracted by the minor visual imperfections”. I hardly think that it is a minor imperfection if it is pointed out in 1/3 of the comments in YT. And i’d rather be paranoid and voice my opinions in hopes that SMent might take notice of this and do better by our girls, rather than them taking things for granted.
“If you think this MV is a disservice to SNSD, you’d be wrong, I don’t think many stranger who bumped into this video would overanalyze every little insignificant detail and heavily criticize it as “lackluster”, they’ll probably be too busy being charmed by SNSD.”
Nope. i dont think i’m wrong. Taking into account of my 1st impression and following many other impressions, i still think this MV is substandard. But i do agree that there’s a high probability that some unassuming stranger would suddenly be caught by SNSD’s charm. Whether it be this vid or something else…i cant be certain.
“Why do you care if haters hate and antis troll?” No, i don’t care about them. I’m more interested in those who can be converted into soshism. i’d rather the girls have more allies than enemies. Dont we all as fans, want our girls to be loved by all? If by chance a fence-sitter/anti/some random person come across this vid, it serves as a window of opportunity for them to love/hate/be indifferent to the girls. If that was the case, i want this vid to be near perfect (not marred by bad production) to increase the chances of a favourable outcome. Sooner or later, the girls WILL dominate the world. But i’d rather sooner than later coz i know of many sones and reformed/converted antis whom regret not knowing and loving our girls sooner.
“we’re getting so spoiled by the girls.” Agree.
“We think everything they make should be gold…That’s just an unrealistic expectation.” Yes, it is unrealistic to expect our girls to always be on top. I want them to be on top and think they deserve to be on top. BUT i dont expect them to always BE on top. Nor turn their works into gold. They work hard, to the point of collapsing, with bruised body and wanning health. They put in their best, to be the best and as a show of their love and grateful hearts to fans. But SM is not helping the situation. Our girls put in their all for the MVs but SM downgrades it with bad production/rushed planning/poor editing. It makes me feel indignant for our girls.
And finally, i deduce that you’re angry coz you love the MV but others are criticising it. Instead of being grateful, people are nitpicking bout the details. I too get p*sh when i encounter these situations. But i think if what you say is objective and constructive, then by all means say your piece and be done with it.
In no way am i suggesting the girls didn’t do well for the MV. They did good. I’m saying that SMent churned out a subpar MV that doesn’t do justice for the girls and it’ll be the girls who will carry this blemish while dominating the world. So rather than adding a mar to their records, i could live without this release. This is my opinion.
@LadyIgraine: Thank you for understanding my point of view in my previous post. And yes, i too hope that our girls’ korean comeback would rock the nation.
SNSD’s creations are meant to be perfect. Their videos Gee, Genie, Visual Dreams are perfect.
Michael Jackson always made sure whatever he created was perfected before he released it.
SNSD are the only ones I deem to be on par with the King of Pop in terms of ultimate star power.
The recent Jap mv’s of SNSD such as Mr Taxi and Bad Girl doesn’t really give a “Full Feeling” like their other videos did.
I heard somewhere that it is not really SM’s fault but the Japanese company they work with that is at fault. Yes, no?
Anyway watch the Video I posted below on their Live Performance of Bad Girl. You get the Full Energetic Feeling and Expression from our Nine Girls in it!
Even Mr Taxi was Awe Inspiring when they performed it live in the Osaka Concert. You can really feel it when our girls do it live!
The internet has no shortage of ungrateful and whiny people that I felt very strongly about voicing my opinion in a very aggressive way to try to tilt the needle in the right direction. I’m quite frankly VERY tired of seeing and hearing all the negativity associated with this MV, most of which are undeserved if you just look at it from an objective point of view. And the saddest part is? I’m one of the few people that would dare standing up and defend the girls and SM Ent against *gasp* fellow Sones!
I did not write my response because I loved the MV so much that I thought it was the best thing SM ever made. For the record Bad Girl is not among my favorites, and this MV is not one of their best. But if you withdraw yourself from being an overcritical fan, you’d see that this MV is really just a bonus, one that SM Entertainment did just because, one that they will NOT derive extra profit from because they’re not selling it in a DVD and they don’t repackage albums in Japan; you’d also see that this MV is not used for promoting the album/single so there’s really no point in investing heavily and make the girls do extra work just to polish an MV that serves no other purpose than simply to fans over to their Korean comeback. From the looks of it the girls didn’t have to do more than 4 or 5 takes of the choreo to finish this MV, and that is a blessing to them. The talk of “downgrade” or “rushed”, “poor editing” are purely being nit picky without looking at the big picture. There are a lot of positives in this MV that you have completely ignored (camera flares and out-of-focus camera effects, great costumes and hairstyles, and close-up shots), and seriously if you think YT comments are a good gauge of public opinion, I suggest you stop wasting your time because most commenters are not rational.
The girls and the MV turned out just fine if you take it at face value, it did the job at the lowest cost possible to the girls (physically) and SM Ent (monetarily). Surely this mediocre, but not lackluster, MV is not gonna make any Sones abandon the fandom because they’re so “offended” by it, antis are gonna hate on it regardless, some neutral fans will like it and some won’t, so be it, the net effect on the girls’ reputation is probably a net zero if not a minor positive. My conclusion, the only thing marring this MV are the people over-criticizing it beyond reason. Now if you all would just stop this “don’t give me a gift unless it was made of gold” spoiled children attitude, you’ll sudden gain appreciation and see this MV as a good thing.
@RagingXL:
i’m not trying to be negative about the mv. i already didn’t expect much out of it knowing that this is a treat for fans for the success of the japanese tour and the album shipping 800k copies, so therefore, i’m satisfied that SM decided to at least make one. my frustrations isn’t just about this mv in particular, but the lack of effort and creativity SM seems to show with majority of SNSD’s music videos. SNSD is currently the top girl group in kpop, but one thing they’re lacking is a well-made mv, and that’s where SM is weak or cheap on providing. normally, i wouldn’t mind if SM’s signature are dance sequence type but at least don’t make it look cheap. there are tons of ways to make mvs that don’t cost too much, all you need are a few good tricks and creativity. as much as i love hearing the song, i also see the importance of VISUAL pleasure, which is what makes kpop entertaining as a whole. like i said, a well-made mv is a window opportunity to gain new fans who may not necessarily know about kpop or SNSD.
Okay please understand that this is from their Japanese Album and not from teir Korean album so with that being said, SMent has nothing to do with the MV or anything. They’re under their japanese company and their japanese company are in charge of the choreo, mv and the song. SMent has no control over this so please don’t blame them for this….now u already know SM can do way better than this. lol
@RagingXL: calm yourself, little man. you can get your message across without resorting to insults. Violence begets violence and that’s the start of all wars. i will not elaborate further coz it’s pointless to you.
@Troy: is that so? i hope SM wont make the same mistake as their japanese counterpart. thank you for the clear up. ^^
hehe seems like a dance ver ;p
i was waiting for singles shots but none lol
either way taeyeon <:3
i dont like the auto tone they can sing so y did they do it i love snsd though!
We can’t really compare this to their other video premieres. This is not a comeback. We knew this song already. They had performed the choreography at their concerts. If SM had given us more teasers or let us wait it out we would have all expected (much) more from the final product.
As it turns out, it looks like a dance version with the only value added the very scenes already seen in the teaser (the girls on the bikes, and their strutting away). Perhaps SME shouldn’t have teased at all and just rolled out the full video as the best kind of gift (the unexpected kind),
Honestly, I was expecting a low-budget video more along the lines of Himnae or Echo, which felt like fun little gifts expressly for SONEs, But I guess the “fierce” nature of this song called for something different.
Crossing my fingers and hoping they have the story line version somewhere in the vault and their teasing us with dance MV?? Right!? Can’t seeing Yoona as bad girl but Sunny bunny can surely kick some ass.
@Rotheany,
“…Sunny bunny can surely kick some ass.” <–Nice, i love this line! =)
Yes she can. CCP >_<

same video…. better audio 🙂
Woohoo ah lian generation!
lol at hyoyeon stomping away at the end …
LOL at entire soshi girls doing the bad girl struts at the end
lately snsd’s mv looks cheap = simple choreography + fake background
totally spoiled the anticipation
since we already saw the dance moves, this mv should give more than different costumes and badass image although this is not a comeback mv – at least giving more to fans deprived of soshi 😛
lucky echo was great or i’ll totally give up on looking forward to their next mv’s LOL
other than that, the gurls looks great as ever!
this was simply a treat for us sones while we wait patiently for their comeback.. although i must say.. SUPER AWESOME TREAT RIGHT? ❤ im loving every second of this..
yeaaahhhhh… what a birthday present for me…
i’m loving it…=)
wondering if they will make mv for the great escape..
hopefully they will soon make a storyline mv….
i will be waiting!
The green screen was way too obvious it made the mv look bad but the girls did look amazing, especially Seohyun..it’s really different from her usual image. I do wish they made the mv better and had more close ups. After the teaser last night I thought the mv was gonna be epic but it didn’t really have a wow factor, kinda the same as the teaser which kinda disappointed me a lil 😦
That was a sweet vid! Kinda liking the darker concept. Glad SM didn’t make us wait long either!
But i’m still longing for a MV with a storyline! This MV was good, it did its purpose by pulling a fierce and strong image of the girls. I’m hoping they would make a Let It Rain or Born To Be A Lady MV next..with a storyline..
I’m not digging the green screen, though..
so SEXAY!!! *drools8
It’s a shame that SM waste a precious SNSD. I mean SNSD deserved better but look what SM did.
Really makes me love SNSD more also sorry for them, it totally looks like dance version for me.
idk… all the green screen comments…
i was too busy looking at the girls, and I think this is their hottest MV ever.
That said I hate the song, maybe I should mute…
Wae SME had to skimp on SNSD’s MV? Wae? Wae? WAE??
The girls deserve much more luxurious MV, including a storyline. But I think this is better (not so much) than Mr Taxi, which didn’t even have a TAXI in it.
Btw, the basement reminded me of Shinee’s Lucifer and thank god the biker/bad girl outfit are gorgeous it saves the day
I’m sure this MV, although not the best quality, will serve its purpose of whatever SM intended to do.
I like . . . they look hot!
I just love how Taeyeon dance to Bad girl. It’s like she own the steps. I guess she really like the song. Taengoo =)
Stop Hating. I really liked the MV.
SNSD always present MVs mostly centered on dancing and little or none storyline. And I have learn to like them that way. I think SM wants to present the dancing in the MVs, I remember this being discussed before somewhere in this blog.
I would love a MV with a storyline but for songs such as Dear mom, Star Star Star or Born to be a Lady. But unfortunately SM strategy it’s different and they have focused on dancing mostly (wich it’s not bad at all). But who knows, maybe some day we will be surprised with a MV for a ballad song.
I the meantime I support the girls always. I like their hard work (I have no idea when they filmed this MV having such a busy schedule) and I really love the BAD GIRL look and specially love the ending with Seohyun. Stop criticizing, and enjoy the 9 angels. SNSD Hwaiting!!!!!!!!
agreed..for me, i watched their mv just because i LOVE to see them dance. imho, the video is not too bad. maybe SM wants to focus on more high quality video for another song, like the great escape or who knows, their incoming korean single? 🙂
i dont know why some ppl r complaining about bad girl MV we should just be thankful that they released one. they lookin so SEXY btw! ❤
I personally think the MV is AWESOME 😀 😀 😀 !!!!
The 9 ladies ROCK 😉 !
Seohyun looks really good 🙂 different image, but it suits her
Their Live Performance of Bad Girl is way better in visual and sound quality!
This is a good thing though, since we get to see a lot more live performances than a single mv.
This is the best video of SNSD Bad Girl live performance I think I found. All I can say is WOW!!!
This is the first MV I didn’t like. How I wish they’d make and mv for The Great Escape instead. Somebody start a petition or something
Please think about Soshi’s killing schedule… but they did film this MV for fans…
SME says it’s a gift for fans. So stop hating and just say “THANK YOU SME, THANK YOU THANK YOU”
Do you love Girls’ Generation? Vote them to be in The Ellen DeGeneres Show!
How? Simply: Go to the page: /user/TheEllenShow?feature=chclk and comment with the word: SNSD! or Girls’ Generation!
:3
converting the video to 60fps???? FAIL
not your bro, guy.
Jessica always ROX in Black Soshi videos, both Run Devil Run and Bad Girl!
And of course Taeyeon too as well!
The only thing that bothers me is the camera work, the camera is spazzing allover the place and it made it so hard to concentrate
Pingback: BAD GIRL MV Revealed! | SNSD - Girls Generation
the Girls are very energetic in this MV, so much it makes the song sounded soft against the presented concept..:D. My only wish is for the drum beat a little louder.
Aouch! Soo Young’s beauty made my nose bleeding…
