A clip of the girls’ “Oh! (Original Version)” rehearsal just surfaced and the version sounds really different.
Compared to the official version that they settled with, the original version has more English lyrics. I wonder how it would’ve been like if they chose the original version instead.
On another note, the pre-recorded special segment of the girls on ‘NHKTV MJ’ was broadcast earlier today.
It includes footage of the girls being interviewed, backstage, and clips of their performances at their arena tour concerts. To those curious of their performances, it’s a must watch!

Would it be terrible of me to say that I like this version better? I think it has more of a layered effect, with a greater variety of stylistic elements, making for a more interesting song.
I would prefer the original.
So is this the jap ver?
i think both version are good, this one (original vers.) would have done just as good as the official version. 😀
This is good but it sounds a little auto tuned, more so than the original
but it’s good! It seems slightly faster too! Burning burning hey!
It’s definitely interesting to hear what the song would have sounded like if it was released just as it was back then as the original version with more of the lyrics in English. It took me a while to get myself acquainted with the feel of the song as it had a slightly greater emphasis on English which I guess caters to international audiences, and because it felt a little peculiar hearing some of the members sing their Korean parts from the official MV in English, especially for the Korean-born members. As for Jessica and Tiffany, despite being fluent English speakers, I find their singing in the original “Oh!” MV to be just as odd.
In spite of that, although I’m not a big fan of “Oh!”, the original sounds identical to the official one, in that they’re both amazing, regardless of whatever language SNSD is singing it in.
it seems very very different :O
I think they’re just singing the korean lyrics in english… although not sure, i’ll grab my translator
woah! really intriguing to hear ‘what it would have sounded like’ – its always the same case every time you hear a different version, at first it sounds odd, but as you listen to it more and more or as the song goes on and it becomes more familiar to you, then it sounds just as good – if not better. Nonetheless a song by Soshi, whether it be a original unseen version, japanese or korean version THEY WILL ALWAYS SOUND LOVELY
i dont phink that it would have changed the fact that Oh! would have become a daebak song, even if they used the original version.
not new yo.
Original “Oh!” had a hell of a lot of English for a song not (as far as I know) originally composed by Westerners, (as I suspect most of the Japan album was, as nearly all the tracks have music composed by Europeans.)
I went back to Soshified to analyze the song translations and “Oh!” seems to be a song about a girl who wants attention from some guy who is indifferent to her. In many ways it’s the perfect continuation of the theme of the previous album’s “Etude” where a girl is given lessons in how to get a guy to notice her. Needless to say, these are not the most empowering sort of lyrics that Westerners go for (“Etude”, as it turns out, was also written and composed by a Korean).
“Just Tell Me That You Love Me Now” in the original “Oh!” can be considered begging, or can almost sound like a threat if delivered correctly. But it was changed to the following in the official “Oh!”: “I’m just saying stupid things again”…and later … “If you do that again, I might just cry”. Not exactly empowering.
Okay, I officially hate analyzing song lyrics.
That NHK video: Hell of a lot of females at their Japanese concerts. Every crowd shot was nearly all women. Oh how I wish the girls would speak Japanese in their interview segments so they can really get to know the girls.
Wow the original oh! was really different, but I still liked it, and the dance was different too
ah…i prefer the original one….haha…
SNSD, fighting! ^^
why did they say Yoroshiku onegaishimasu in the beginning?
it looks like they’re addressing Japanese, or is there actually more twist to this than just an original version of Oh?
just wondering…
they said “yeolshimhi hagetseubnida” (열심히하겠습니다) = we will work hard. it does sound like the japanese tho.
sounds like an incomplete song by the producers and snsd…
Wow is quite nice, but there’s some parts i don’t understand what they singing.
For those of you who can’t quite hear what they are saying, I found this on a youtube comment… the lyrics of the original “Oh!” vs. the official one.

does anyone have the mp3 version of this?
honestly, i like this version better because the girls that sings before the chorus got > 2 words sentence.
How about making it as another “official” version?
WOW it sounds soo different! I love taeyeon’s part! ^_^
I swear in Korea it’s almost like they purposely make Hyoyeon less attractive than the others…but in Japan! In Japan, Hyoyeon is frickin CUTE. They fixed her eyebrows so they’re not all angry and diagonal, they give her normal cute hairstyles, she looks young and fresh.
WOW why do they publish the official version instead of this?
anyway, I still love both ❤
hmmmmm the 2 version were great but i like the original 1
i like both versions of the song
TaeNy moment.!!!!
hah the Great Escape costumes look like they from Dragon Ball Z
can someone help me? i cant see the videos
I like both versions of “Oh !”. Thanks for posting the “missing” original one :D.
I definitely love this version way more. If this “Oh!” was released as the official one, then I would’ve liked this song.
i just cried when i saw they perform!!
poor me cant go to see they perform!!
they’re soo good!!
and the song “Let it rain” and “the great escape” also daebak!!
SNSD, you make me gay for you!! hahaha
love all of you very much!!!
Heu guys! new picture from girls hanging around Paris!!! http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/photo.php?fbid=206019839440858&set=a.203533426356166.46647.200739259968916&type=1&theater
Found these on youtube… but i’m like DID I MISS SOMETHING?!!?
These totally look like official videos that why.
anyone know where they’re from? 🙂
Our girls are impressive in so many ways that I don’t even know. Make me proud! World tour, let’s go!
TaeNy !!!!!!!!!!!! Finally able to see them together ( in JAPAN ) …………!!:D
If they combined both this and the Oh! we know today it would be awesome!! i didn’t really like the pre chorus bit though.. other than that, this is AWESOME!! SOSHI FIGHTING!
I like the full on Korean version more but if they bring out a better version, I may re-think about it 🙂
Those japanese cosplayers are soo CUTE! ^^
The both versions are fantastic. ^^
woah the original Oh! has a lot of English lyrics! it’s rather surprising considering that the composer is a Korean, Kenzie, whose songs usually don’t have much English lyrics… I kind of like the part before the chorus, but I like the one in the released version too. Both are pretty good, imo.
I have to say that I’m a sucker for backstage!Soshi… Let’s go Soshi, let’s go! \o/
ahhhh where the high def version!?
i need this song!
I so need this mp3……where could I get it…… ^_^
i think this original version is better. they should totally release it officially.
I like it. I like how there’s more english lyrics. maybe this could be the start of an english version? I desperately hope so! 😀
