Looks like Yuri’s new and improved look has garnered a fair bit of on-line interest among netizens….
Yuri toned and well-proportioned body has always been an attractive feature of her total physical make-up.
An internet community site recently posted photos of Yuri’s abs, resulting in a fair bit of attention from netizens all over.
Evident through the photos, Yuri’s sexiness was clearly showcased through her tanned skin, solid abs, and visible curves.
Netizens who saw these pictures have variously commented: “When did Yuri get abs?”, “She’s so sexy”, and “Yuri must have worked out a lot”.
Although not new observations, they certainly serve to remind all and sundry why a portion of the Soshi-fandom are known as Yurisistables. YURI JJANG !!!

My Yuri is so cute!and sexy too!!
everything about Yuri on that picture just screams HOTNESS! I really don’t even know what else to say… I just continue to stare… Unbelievable… Hair, eyes, nose, lips… ermm… curves… complexion, (deep breathe)
wow….I’m so in love with her, Yuri jjang
Yul…I love you for your smile. Pervs who loved you only for your figure can go suck it!
she wasn’t always like that, why are you trying to make it look like she effortlessly looks like that, she was chubby and she worked really hard to attain an admirable and very desirable body, her face looks way better, and quite honestly she wasn’t quite a hit for me before but now you just cant deny how gorgeous she looks, and if we’re talking looks, i think she can really take the lead now, she looks like one of those interracial kids now.
good to hear that
but do rest a lot too since snsd have a pack schedule…
SNSD, fighting! ^^
her body is great… HAWT ahaha.. but then i feel la… just a feeling… nothing much but she shud work out on her hands a bit more ahaha.. cause it looks so weak… not get muscle like arnold loool… or RAMBo… just make it look abit like Jessica’s, seobaby or any other girls.. cause, if one is so thin, its rather easy to get infected.
anyway, just a personal thought. dunno bout u guys. 😉
I disagree. I thought she looked better when she was not so skinny. She was already sexy before the weight loss, so I don’t know why she had to do it. But, whatever.
She had to do it because she’s self-conscious just like any normal young girl. I knew she was fine once I saw the same goofy and energetic Yuri in the live performances and concerts, which means she’s NOT unhealthy like many people assumed. Why can’t we just accept her wishes and be happy for her?
Cuz the fact that she’s doing it means that something is not right. Of course, no one knows what’s going on behind the scenes and only time will reveal the truth. The reason is I’ve seen this story so many times, especially with American celebrities. Everything seems fine and then years later, you hear the stories of how they were starving themselves etc… I just hope you are right and that nothing is really wrong, but drastic weight loss should always ring an alarm bell. And many celebrities will never admit they have a problem because they would be in denial. People who have those problems never realize they had a problem in the first place. And of course their management company would deny and try to cover it. Who would want to admit their star has a problem?
So just because she was perfectly healthy before means it’s “wrong” to want to lose weight?? I can’t agree with that line of logic. Yuri is a normal person and she has issues with her image (she has said so on Strong Heart) even though she was fine the way she was, she’s just human and is not immune to peer pressure especially in the image-driven world of Kpop. If I had to guess she probably lost between 10-15 pounds, but she did it in a span of 3 months (February to May), that’s not that drastic, it’s considered safe to lose about 5 pounds a month for someone who consistently work out and diet. I seriously doubt she starved herself to lose weight, especially considering their hectic schedule, a anorexic person will just faint and not be able to carry out the exhausting activities. If you watch her performances on TV and in the concert, there’s no way a anorexic girl would have that kind of energy. I just don’t see it, we need to stop doubting, have some faith and respect her decision. Until the day Yuri stops showing her playful personality, I will always believe in her.
she’s addicted to workout lately, according to Sunny’s UFO reply
Unnie.. ❤
Yuri-ah unnie is so nice! She did all this because of SONES! she doesn't want to dissapoint us! Awww…
@tiffany9
agree wif u. especially the american celebrities part. one moment they are fine and all of the sudden they go on diet. and after years after that diet, relationship problems
and then
the “S” words comes in to play (suicide)
and as we know, in South Korea, the celebrities are really having hard time in their comeback and they have allot of suicide cases.
so hope that SNSD will not face all those tough choices.
Kara had been in a rough journey right. with their manager and all. i mean, it is natural to face problems as we go along.but it is better to hope not to face those path unprepared.
SNSD forever 🙂
sexy …
So the title of this post says Yuri is “going Schwarzenegger”? I don’t know if you guys follow the news (that is, things not Soshi related), but Schwarzenegger is in the news and the gossip rags for his cheatin’ ways. When I saw the title of this post and the still pic of Yuri doing her “If” solo (and knowing the lyrics to “If”) …. I thought that Yuri was having some serious fun!… and not with just her wifeys Yoona and Sica.
And Schwarzenegger’s body is pretty flabby now according to shirtless pics uncovered by the gossip rags (he is in his 60s after all). Yes, I read the gossip rags at the checkout lines… stop judging.
aaahhh..damn Yuri..she’s so hot and sexy!!!!
Woah when I first saw the headline about Schwarzenegger I thought Yuri did something with the maid!!!!
I like your smile and antics!!! Yuri …………….
No need for everyone to be so prude about what they believe should be the case for Yuri. I, for one, am not entirely driven by arbitrary choices and I think what Yuri has done was for the benefit of herself and not anyone else. I also think that while caring for her is a good thing, perhaps it’s a little TOO good. I suppose everyone knows that too much of a good thing can be a bad thing in certain scenarios. We’re concerned over the slightest things like we’re naturally obsessive and even minute changes can give us quite a scare, and we tend to overreact a little, such as with the recent weight loss with Yuri.
I have stated before in a post prior to this one that Yuri has undergone rigid training back in the day and should know how her body functions like the back of her hand. How to maximize efficiency and mitigate the downsides. In addition to that, Yuri probably knows that in order to achieve a certain goal, you’ll have to sacrifice something smaller (probably linked to her weight loss as part of a routine in order to look slimmer, but along with RagingXL, I highly doubt she would starve herself) to attain something greater. (At this point, I’m not exactly sure of her exercise routine and how she would go about doing it, so what I write here is based on assumptions.)
The quote “No pain, no gain” will most likely come to mind now. Anyway, she may have given us quite a shock when we discovered the impoverished state of her body, but what did she get at the end of it all? A better, stronger and sexier looking body. Nothing short of irreproachable, and she’s still maintaining a consistent, healthy diet, so there isn’t really much to worry about. We even have her fellow members document on her progress (can’t remember where I got the quote from).
What has this taught us? She might have inspired you to work out, exercise or even participate in healthier activities on a daily basis. But, sometimes, we’ll have to sacrifice a little of something to acquire something of greater value in return while doing what we enjoy.
… and because she regulates herself with her diet, what she eats, and allocating time off of her busy schedule to work out.
About those American celebrities who deal with personal issues, resulting in anorexia (or weight gain), or drug abuse… many of those people are alone in their own worlds, surrounded by yes-men and yes-women who dare not confront them because they don’t want to risk their access to the star and the money the star generates.
I think that SNSD girls are a team and a family. They eat together and will not let any member starve. (Do you think that shikshin Yoona will allow her bff Yuri to starve?) Heck, I even think Seohyun had to scarf down a few hamburgers over the years just because her unnies were eating them and they were giving Seohyun the evil eye. They even badgered her into drinking alcohol. The girls are not socially isolated, so suicide is not an issue because they have each other.
With these concerts underway, we are seeing the end result of a months-long process of hard work: Recording, video shooting, new choreographies, etc. Her exercise routines are designed to build stamina for these busy concert months. We all agree that Sunny looks healthy and loves to eat, right? Well didn’t she collapse and had to be taken to the hospital? So let’s not assume who is healthy or not based on weight alone.
SO THIS is why she has been slimming way down…. hard work paid off Kwon Yuri! I’m not mad at it …
and for those criticizing her weight loss SHE IS A WOMAN who is CONSTANTLY in the spotlight and she wanted to look good, nothing wrong with that, and to the ladies how many times have you put on a dress or a pair of jeans or a BATHING SUIT and said im going to work out get my body right so I can make the clothes look good and I think thats exactly what she did. She knew she was going to be in this outfit and wanted to rock it! but anyway i hope all of them STAY HEALTHY!!! SOSHI HWAITING!
You sir, have my vote.
she’s beautiful,… its good to hear shes actively exercise.its important to keep up with packed schedule.
I’n not buying it though. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and no one is going to be able to change anyone’s, so its going to be a moot point. Like I said, time will tell. If she’s healthy 10 or 20 years from now, then I will be wrong. But if she has health issues later down the line, then there might have been something. I’m not going to beat a dead horse anymore. Issue done.
You don’t have to buy anything we say, you just have to believe in Yuri like she ASKED all of us to, why is that so hard to do even for a fan? You’re seriously going doubt her and question her decision for the next 10-20 years? We’re not in denial here, there MAY be a slim possibility that it’s psychologically related, but don’t you think that the 8 other girls who live and eat with her on day to day basis would have caught it and prevented anything bad from happening? Furthermore, there has been no sign of any psychological breakdown (her personality hasn’t changed), and no sign of any physical breakdown (her energy level has stayed consistent), so there’s really no basis to doubt her like that. You’re seriously underestimating the Soshibond as the ultimate fail-safe, you need to have more faith and stop thinking negatively.
I’m glad she’s getting some meat back on those pretty bones of her 8D
sexyyy~! :D…but i still prfer the old (curvy) Yuri…
She still has a rockin’ bod, but I’d love to see more meat on here still.
“Looks like Yuri’s new and improved look has garnered a fair bit of on-line interest among netizens….”
I feel like that line could’ve went both ways.
Some of us agree she looks better now.
While some says she looks better then.
I, on the other hand am in-between.
I just hope she’s still healthy.

Yuri will always be SEXY! ;D
NEW AND IMPROVED?! That’s just sickening. The girl needs help. You can’t just be naive and ignore the fact that she’s become so insecure that she has now felt the need to lose so much weight. It’s scary and yet some people are just urging her on by saying she wasn’t beautiful before. I don’t think this diet was good for being a role model, or her health. People respected how she was popular despite her slight chubbiness and I think this takes away from her charm.
Yes, if you believe her charm was based solely the fact that her previous figure looked hot, then you were never a real fan to begin with. I’m sorry but I can’t disagree more about what you said. Get off Yuri’s back and go spazz on some other girl if that makes you happy.
Dear “The truth”,
The exaggeration, generalization and groundless assumptions you have in your comment shows that you lack critical thinking or do not wish to put in the effort. Although positive comments, like spazzing, are always welcomed without the least bit of objectivity, negative comments require more thought and consideration if you want to be taken seriously and welcomed in a forum. These negative emotional responses only expose yourself to others of what you, yourself, are self-conscious about. If posting your comment helped you release some of your frustration, then great. At least something positive would have been generated. Being a SONE doesn’t mean you can’t be critical. There are many people here who write critical but still thoughtful posts. Maybe you can learn from them. I surely have.
Best,
Yulsarang
Perhaps I was unclear about what I was trying to say, or maybe you didn’t understand. So, firstly I would like to say that I love Yuri, her charm is of course not solely based upon her beauty. She is charismatic, kind and undoubtedly beautiful. However with this being said the drastic weight loss which has resulted in her chest clearly showing her bones, her arms stick thin and her legs looking frail should not be seen as ‘new and improved’. It’s telling other people, especially insecure young people, that to be beautiful or have improved looks requires a person to be incredibly thin which is clearly not true.
She has said before that she is insecure about her weight compared to the other members, and this is visible. Maybe she thought that she needed to conform to the SNSD image with perfectly toned and thin legs because naturally thin people like Sooyoung or Yoona manage this with what could be seen as ease. That’s fine and ideal as long as the weight loss was done in a healthy way, but I think she went too far with this regime and it affected her so drastically that she looks anorexic and that it was not done in healthy way.
So yeah, my last comment was just a quick response? With anguish and concern, not with pure hatred. Why should it have needed to be articulate. I quote ‘Check those ripplin’ abs. Dam hot!’….effort? People are encouraging her, not seeing that this was not a good diet. That to me is wrong. If I had a friend who was losing weight too fast or losing too much then I would definitely help her/him. To support it would be simply immoral and I believe that peoples judgement is being clouded because they want to support her and remain an avid fan. I don’t think you can tell me how i can or cannot criticise. It was not ‘exaggerated’ or ‘groundless’ or ‘generalised’. Her weight loss cannot be seen as being a good role model, or good for her health, her very slight chubbiness was most definitely cute and added to her charm. You are a hypocrite by being groundless and assuming that I am ‘self-conscious’. I am more than comfortable in my own skin. Evidently more so than Yuri.
So what am I really trying to say? These girls receive so much pressure and are willing to sacrifice their health to please their fans, I just want them to be happy, healthy, and be supportive in the right way, which is not by encouraging her to lose more weight.
First off, none of us are qualified to say whether she is unhealthy right now or not. You can’t simply assumed that just because she lost some weight that she’s no longer healthy, we simply don’t know that for a fact. Second, even if you don’t like her weight loss, you still have no right to say Yuri can’t or shouldn’t do it. She is an adult and can make her own choices for her own body, whether that is a good role model or not really shouldn’t be her concern, it does not come before her freedom to choose.
I have said this before and I’ll say it again, it is considered healthy and safe to lose about 4-5 pounds (~2 kg) a month through exercising and dieting, and Yuri’s weight loss was achieved through a period of 3 months, not “overnight” like many people simply assumed. Judging by the fact that she looks visibly lively, energetic, and shows no sign of any psychological problems, added by the fact she has so far withstood the exhausting schedule better than some of the other girls, the only thing we can do, and the right thing to do, is to trust that she is fine just like she asked us not to worry. Yes, it’s entirely possible that she might have overcompensated and went a little too far, but I think she and her trainer will know this better than you and I, and I believe she will eventually find the right balance (much like Jessica when she went through a similar weight loss), because I haven’t seen enough evidence of unhealthy signs NOT to trust her.
Nobody here is encouraging anorexia and unhealthy ways to achieve weight loss, they were simply commenting that she looked hot and you were the ones that put the words into their mouths. Simply because you don’t like it doesn’t mean people aren’t allowed to comment and compliment her, everybody has different tastes and preferences and this is a forum of free speech. What do you expect the other fans to do!? Join your ridicule against Yuri until she puts the weight back on? Stop kidding. If I had a friend who want to lose some weight and become slimmer, I’d say go for it if it makes you happy and I’d support it 100% if it’s done in a HEALTHY manner, and it appears that Yuri has done just that. It’s absolutely ridiculous to suggest it’s “immoral” to advocate healthy weight loss. If you think my judgement is clouded please supply some strong evidence of her unhealthiness besides pictures and fancams of her slimmed down torso and arms, what appears on the surface never tells the truth.
At the end of the day, we appreciate that you are a fan of Yuri and you are genuinely concerned for her, but the amount of negativity coming from fans like you who believe Yuri literally killed herself trying to lose weight is a little too much. You need to stop criticizing Yuri, stop forcing her to be the role model that ‘you’ want her to be, and just trust that she did the right thing to make herself happy without sacrificing her health. I’m really tired of these pointless arguments, I can’t fathom why I even need to defend Yuri against her own fans, what makes Yuri happy trumps your opinion of her image any day, so stop acting like you know better than Yuri what’s good for her. Real fans would just be happy for her regardless of whether she’s chubby or skinny, as long as Yuri remains healthy continues to be the happy virus.
Yuri was hot before (like in their ITNW Asian tour) and Yuri is hot now. She is a beautiful girl with a lot of charisma; I’ve always though she has one of the best bodies in the kpop industry. A lot of people say she’s too skinny now, personally I prefer Yul old look but I think she looks mesmerizing regardless of my opinion ^^ and also she seems to be very happy with herself so that makes me happy.
But besides what her appearance may be the most important thing remains and that’s her gorgeous personality, lighten heart and braveness… Yul you where amazing before and will always be amazing
hopefully she’ll find a balance between eating right and looking great (hot!!!)
Check those ripplin’ abs. Dam hot!
