UPDATE: There is word that these are unconfirmed reports as to whether or not both Taeyeon and Seohyun will be providing any form of voice dubbing for the Korean version of Gnomeo and Juliet. In the mean time, please take any news regarding their participation on the project with a grain of salt. – mikechi
Just as they have before, Taeyeon and Seohyun will once again provide the Korean dubbed voices for characters in another American 3D animated film.
Based loosely on William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the Korean dubbed version of Touchstone Pictures Gnomeo and Juliet, will feature the voices of T-ara’s Jiyeon and MBLAQ’s Lee Joon in the lead roles, as well as comedian Jung Juri as Juliet’s nanny; whilst SNSD’s Taeyeon and Seohyun, Super Junior’s Shindong, and KARA’s Park Gyuri will provide dubbed voiceovers for, as of yet, unspecified roles.
Koreans can expect to see the film at theaters in April.

Cool cool! Excited to see what character they will be dubbing. As well as what kind of voices they’ll be using XD I was impressed with Taeng and Maknae in despicable me. And Jiyeon is playing a part too so that’s a bonus for me ^^;

On a lighter note, even though I’m not a fan of dubbing for animations or movies in a different language than the one intended for the movie for a few reasons (There are some consistency issues regarding lip synchronization, telltale signs of a lack of impact and emotion conveyed through a different voice in a different language (Korean) than with another one like English and it doesn’t feel right or serve a purpose overall, etc.), it’s good to see Taeyeon and Seohyun reprise their somewhat former roles of voice acting for a cartoon animation that just so happen to be a movie based loosely on a widely acknowledged form of literature.
Voice acting is a trait which I feel is a relatively small yet nice complement and bonus to add to SNSD’s repertoire. We’ll inevitably watch the movie perhaps either out of personal feelings or because the two aforementioned ladies are dubbing their voices for the movie, who knows. I might watch it in English just for the fun of it.
I mean, first it was with “Despicable Me”, then it’s with “Gnomeo and Juliet” now. They could continue on with the trend of lending their talents to voice acting for future adaptations of American cartoons/movies in a localized version with a language Koreans understand (Korean, obviously.) I’ll leave it at this point and let others figure out the rest for themselves.
i know what you mean, i’d rather watche a movie in english than have not matching voices in french (or korean etc) but im sure it super awesom tohear tae&seo
