25 bucks for a two track single? You MUST be kidding me, as much as I love Soshi that is nothing short of a highway robbery. Now if it’s a massive photobook I’ll overlook the lack of music but come on, you can buy tracks on iTunes for a dollar or so and just download the MV. I want to support the girls but selling CDs for $25 is why so many people just illegally download music nowadays.
Yes the single is very expensive, but it’s standard Japanese music pricing, nothing out of the ordinary and it’s not like SNSD singles are purposely charged for more. Japanese music for some reason are just expensive, heck everything in Japan is expensive, just the standard of living is different, you may not like it but that’s just how their market is, calling it highway robbery is rather uninformed. Do keep in mind the normal edition is only $14.75, and MVs are usually not given out for free in Japan (which means downloading the MV would be a form of illegal downloading), so there is value in those DVDs and the photobooks. Japanese people in general shun illegal downloads and support legal music ownership so that’s another reason they can continue to charge high prices. Single songs on iTunes Japan cost about 299yen, which is way more than a dollar, but if you don’t like it, by all means wait for the full album that includes these new tracks, but who know when that will happen.

By the way, if you register as a new customer on cdJapan, the store gives you a 300 Yen credit, which you can use to offset the price of the item (i.e. 1800 Yen [or less, if you are a foreign customer] – 300 Yen). I think that will “lessen” the “sting” of paying that much money for the item by a bit 😉 !

i’m happy for u guys because you’ll be able to purchase the delux edition, while i can only buy the regular edition. why? because i’m from the u.s., and the dvd only comes in region 2. seriously, i think SM should create a website that can deliver goods to global consumers so fans around the world (like me) won’t have a hard time with technical compatibility 😦
While you are absolutely right about the global audience, the DVDs produced in Japan are very strictly controlled and I don’t believe they allow it to be anything but region 2. Plus, SM and Universal Music Japan probably aren’t expecting a huge global audience for their overpriced singles, so they will be focusing on the local Japanese market. What you can do is use software to change your DVD-ROM’s region, but as you said it is a technical hassle.
Damn, I’m so broke now I can’t even afford one. O____o

Are you from Singapore ? If so, there is a booth on the 2nd floor of Orchard Cineleisure that has HD posters of both covers for sale ;). It costs S$18 for both. I know ‘cos I got a set yesterday (12-3-2011) 😀 !
I guess, Run Devil Run and Mr .Taxi Japanese Mv will be not posted in YouTube. SM Entertainment has make Super Junior – M- Perfect Mv Private and I guess they will done so to SNSD too.
I think I’m gonna buy Deluxe and Limited since photobooks are different 😛

Does anyone know of a way to play DVDs bypassing region restrictions? My DVD player says it can change Regions to a maximum of 4 times, don’t know if I wanna do that
Please don’t do that (change regions) as the DVD player will be “locked” to the final region entered after the 4th change, allowing you to play only that region’s videos after that 😦 😉 ! If you can afford one, get a player that plays ALL regions (it exists) :D. Hope this helps.
